Mattaru can back me up on this, majority rule isn't inherently a good thing. Any legit society has a mechanism to check the majority rule if necessary.
Vocal minority, you always get congrats posts in any good times thread while few flames, they're just idiots, or they just cheer anything bad that happens to gil sellers regardless of how shady the OP was in what they did. Take you pick, either way, it's still not any kind of majority you'd base a decision off of. It's not majority rule, because the majority isn't following the rule, they're just not mad at someone being a vigilante.
I never said it was inherently a good thing. I said that is how society usually solves its problems when there isn't any law, or a law isn't being enforced. Society doesn't alway do the "good" thing they do the "right" thing for the most people.
Just because people approve of stealing from a stealer, does not mean they have to steal themselves. Just because someone approves of the death penalty, or a life-time jail sentence does not mean they have to kill a criminal or lock someone up. In majority rules all that is required is their approval.
