And I'm only whiny when I see shitty things happening with a forum I've been a member of for 4 years. I did it when Sculli shat the place up, I did it when Elei was off doing as he pleased, and I'm doing it now, when shitty moderation is being put forth by people too lazy to do their jobs correctly.

I to have been on these boards near as long as you, and you would like free rain anywhere. Honestly it good that we have mod that actually take the time to look at post instead of just ignoring them.

I'm not blind to the jumble of consistency myself. If we do nothing, someone, such as Jamal, reports it and inflames the situation. If we start becoming proactive, people get angry that we start poking the rules too literally.

What in God's name do you want? I can read the context of posts. Hellstorm's ideas get repetitive fast, and everyone tells him the same thing, yet he still won't drop his argument. What am I supposed to do? I can understand someone getting pissed off, but the rules definitely say flamebaits are not allowed. If something so concrete as a flamebait is defined in the rules, then the definition of what it means to flamebait can not change from user to user, context to context.

No, he's really given me a headache a few times. He does also bring me to the floor with laughter occasionally, and Its fun to have conversations with my friends about how stupid he is sometimes.

If Hellstorm, or anyone else for that matter, keeps putting the same argument forward again, and again, even after people have already shut the whole idea down, isn't that kind of flamebaiting?

Like if someone makes a topic in General Discussion complaining about LFP times. This post, regardless of where it may actually be (FB, Good Times, General Discussion) will induce flames. Isn't that what flamebaiting (trolling, etc.) is?

My point is that it's nearly entirely subjective. Which is why there's this big back and forth argument. Perhaps for warnings, I don't think anyway terribly cares so much, but if you're going to base some sort of further disciplinary action, go at it by a case by case basis. IE, what makes "STFU hellstorm" flamebait, but posting in a thread about TV shows that "tv sucks books are better, everything is ripped off of books" is somehow not? Or posting "WoW sucks!" in the WoW board, or "Xbox kills babies" (which had a tenuous link at best) in the Xbox board.

Perhaps if Hellstorm would actually spell words properly, organize ideas, and use paragraphs, maybe I'd actually agree that it was flamebaiting. Or at least relative to some of the other examples cited. Like posting in a TV thread that TV sucks and books are infinitely better. This post is going to generate flames. Should those flames be punished? There's a bit of grey area there between victim of constant flaming, and provoker of constant flames.

I don't put the same again and again. I give different context to what I wrote because it is need by the post that I quote. Yes lot of my post are out there, normally controversial topic, but that why I pick them because last I check this was a discussion board. Also I don't flame, I will not call a person a name in most cases. Why because is not respectful even if certain people on these boards don't deserve it. i don't post for attention, I post to make a statement, which normally go over about 30% of the people on this boards head which is to be expected because it them who im normally targeting and they fill there never wrong.

Gunner said it best if you think you can do better make your own board. That been tryed before and failed. It the same thing I say to those who criticize people that lead. A reasonable response. There is a difference to Meeze's posts in LS threads though, because he did receive multiple warnings directing him to stay out of those threads. I did not mean to alienate you Rambaldi, because your posts are good points, just not inline with that forum.

I was merely articulating to Marajade that if I followed the rules in black and white, you should receive infractions (which is a mean way of saying warning) for one post in that thread, further warnings upon continuance. Sorry if it came across as assholish =(.

It's all about favoritism really. They'll be more strict on certain posters and less on others. Jamal and Arc haven't gotten along in awhile on here, which has been pretty obvious. Eleibfrid hasn't liked Jamal ever since Jamal mt'd to Ele's e-girlfriend about a stupid Drg lotting War AF he shouldn't have in Dynamis. Mirros just goes along with the other mods I guess.
