I think if i ever hear a black dude say that I'mma go up to him and say this shit. Be like

Well I cant speak for an entire race but as far as I see it, its like when someone is hurt by a topic but purposely jokes about it to diminish its meaning/impact.... ya know what I mean. Like they are desensitizing the original meaning by throwing it around and keeping the power of the word contained to themselves.

But anyway, I just think its rude and dont want to argue this further.

I'm not crying either. I just don't like how QCDN has become a babysitters club for the retarded. "There's no rule against it, so it must be okay to do!" Which is why i said common sense. You should know that saying it is going to irk some people (remember this from my other post?).
 
Actually I just wanted to add that I am in a multi racial relationship and I see the discrimination everyday, even ever so slightly it is there. So going on a forum which is supposed to be for fun and seeing the same thing, even if very small and not meant to be as insulting, can be saddening.

Please just think about what your posting and not what you can post.
 
On the topic of the word "Nigga"

I would like to know, as Nycon pointed out in another thread, since when was it ok for Jamal to call Natashaa a "trailer trash hick", but when someone mentions the word "nigga" we get all up in arms. Mirewen pointed out that "******" carries the connotation of being ignorant which is what "trailer trash hick" does as well. Why is that ok and not Nigga?

As Valandil pointed out we have some pretty racial pics in there with the "Hungry Hungry Negroes" and "White Power Electrical Company" and no one got upset. The term nigga was used jokingly and Jamal got upset, and the pics in the LOL thread is a joke thread to begin with. Hmmmm....

On the topic of this getting moved to the Flameboard

It was pretty apparent why this would get moved from the continual confrontation Jamal had with some of the other users. Someone was bound to make a negative comment where that was originally left in the Good Times thread. I do not object with the mods moving this whatsoever, and I believe it was in good taste to do so. The few that are at odds with the mods need to either deal with it or just move on. Mods are human and make mistakes like we all do and to sit there screaming their indiscretions really does no merit to yourself. In closing on this subject I think the mods do a decent job.

On the top of "Hellstorm"

Really... just ignore him. He's not going anywhere and will keep making his posts no matter how dumb they may be. You really make no distinction when you respond by belittling him no matter how he is regarded on this forum. You are not doing a service for me. Learn to ignore since you have to learn to do so in RL. If we couldn't ignore anything in RL then we are pretty much all fucked. Discretion, Self-Control, and the Ignore Button work wonders. Trust me...

In regards to the OP:

To be quite honest Jamal, I have never come across a user that struck me as Narcissistic. Your posts albeit with a heavy dose of attitude did contain some merit, and I don't think you are taking a break from the board due simply because of "free speech and the use of the word nigga". I am putting my bets on the fact that you created a handful of opponents due mostly from your attitude. Take a break and do what you need to do, but seriously this is forum for a video game.

Also, the mods will get bitched at regardless of what they do. I think that for the most part they try to do what's right for the community and enforce the rules the best they can while incorporating some common sense. People really need to calm down...

I think you're forgetting that it was only recently rights and acts were passed to make sure that people were treated equally(recently in history terms 20-40years ago) that stuff like 'segregation but equal' was practiced and why was it knocked down? You think the n-bomb stopped at slavery? There wasn't oppression at all for black people afterwards?

People were being treated as second class citizens, no slavery existed at the time but I think it's a bit far-fetched to say people don't have a reason to be upset, walk a mile in his/her shoes as they say and then come back with the same perspective.

I can't really speak for people that milk it or people that use it in lyrics, I can say that just because some black people say it does not mean everyone freaking follows the quota If you use them as a basis for reality and as a microcosm(sp) for the black community and as a standard that all predominately African-Americans follow you're sorely mistaken.

Racism has been knocked down quite a few pegs thanks to many notable people, but really it's still there on both sides Take a predominately southern black family and a black guy marries a white girl sure it's not there in the open, but you get the backtalk,funny eyes,etc. when it happens doesn't it?

How about those minority blacks that don't follow the mainstream saying nigga and clothing trend, aren't they called 'white' by their own race and by other people of different races? Or all we all milking our history of slavery and putting that in front of government's face for a handout?

It's an ugly thing racism, people only see it as a very blunt rusted blade rooted in the past and a natural folly of human nature to be made fun of; when it's really a double-edged sword that continues today, it will never truly be ridden of only reduced.
