Guys I dont know whats going on, my cousin posted all these horrible things about Jamal. I'll have to have a talk with her about how she goes on my computer and posts things. I know he is special, and I know he is my brother, but he needs to know that she cant go on my computer and post all these horrible things about Jamal. Stupid half-step-brothers. Damn them.
here are the facts....the N word, and by the N word i mean the full word of "******" is derogatory. however, on the same hand "nigga" is only derogatory if a white man uses it.
you see and hear black men/women use it all day, every day. its not dorogatory when they do it because its seen as the same as saying "yo, whats up homie".
the only way i could fathom "nigga" being dorogatory is if jamal said something of the sort of "dude, your such a nigga"
but geezus...get the hell over it. if, whoever it is, is so upset by the use of the term, maybe you should have your mommy turn on the internetz filter. oh and dont forget her to change your diaper. there are more things to worry about in the world than someone saying the dreaded N word.
Hey, can I ask an honest question? >.>
I'm so pure white, and literally have never interacted with an African-American (I grew up in a small northern town)
But why exactly -is- the N-Word so offensive? All I see it as, is that it means "black person." Are white people supposed to get offended when we're called Crackers (or whatever we're called)?
(and one thing, more unrelated, how it's okay for a black to call a black the n-word, but heaven forbid a white person say it [this is not so, I'm sure, in all cases, just something I find curious) Racism is really an...odd thing. I don't understand it, but I've never been exposed to it :|
Sorry for the late reply, but I figured I would try to answer the question (please forgive the use of offensive words in my following statement, I do not normally use them, nor do I believe any other decent human beings should).
Nigga(er) does not equal cracker. A closer comparison would be words like kike or wop (sp?), which are more specificly targeted. The reason why the N word is so offensive is because it brings to mind images of slavery, and harshly racist groups, though now it also brings to mind rappers as well. My personal opinion is that NO ONE should use it, including rappers, in any form (and yes rap is primarily the type of music I listen to).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ (add the aforementioned word in at the end)
"The New York City Council passed a resolution on February 28, 2007 that symbolically bans the use of the word ******. There are no penalties for non-compliance. The resolution also asks that songs including the word ****** in their lyrics be excluded from consideration for the Grammy Awards"
Sort of a start in the right direction, albeit a very passive one.
so what you're saying is that being compared to a slave driver repeatedly and sadistically beating defenseless people , relishing in their pain and then running salt in said wounds as well as rape while aiding and abetting actions now classified as crimes against humanity is comparable to being called "lint"?
No he's saying that anyone that finds cracker offensive is retarded. I think honky is worse than cracker.
