So is the government shutting down after Friday affecting anyone else? I’m looking to non-rev out of this bitch for a week or two if it does shutdown. I feel for my brothers and sisters down range. The fact that our military will still be fighting in three conflicts and not being paid while the assholes that got us into the mess are still getting their big fat paychecks is sickening.

We got a day and a half left... guess we'll see what happens...
 
There is an impasse in the legislative branch of the US government, with the different parties pushing for their own version of what the budget should be, and neither side willing to accede on key demands.

On the whole, it's just another example of why we desperately need some reform in government. Neither side has the power to push their agenda through, but neither side can move forward without cooperation from their opponents.
 
As the only AERO-MED medic in the state I was deemed non-essential. Hope that our flight guys enjoy being grounded and that DE, PA, NJ and MD do not need emeregency military airlifts for civilian patients.

I only have to pay the exit fee and the ticket tax. Last country I was in was Germany. I think roundtrip it cost me like $110 out of pocket. Europe is really good to travel to this time of the year. Cheap tickets and easy to find cheap hostels.
 
The shutdown will affect me because I work for the government right now. I know that they were looking at who was essential and who wasn't and of course R&D isn't top priority to keep around, so if this shut down occurs I guess I'll have a nice little vacation without it counting towards my days off.
 
I find it stupid that they don't consider the IRS essential. Even if the government shuts down, why stop what's bringing in the revenue? Granted, payments will still be processed but the audits will end. THE HORROR!!!
 
I am in a unique position where I am a contractor in direct support of the Feds. When the Gov shuts down they all go home and I have to do their work. Great...
 
Still haven't gotten word how this is going to affect me and my squadron. The Chiefs and our DIVO are being real hush hush about any major details, so I'm assuming my paycheck is gonna suck ass come the 15th.
 
Check your LES Alereth. Those assholes already took half our pay.
 
I'm a recently new government employee, ironically, and I'll be sitting at home not being paid. Not even allowed to use accrued vacation time....
 
This attacking of planned parenthood needs to stop -_- and we really need to get rid of so many politicians and the big business douche bags who bought them out. I foresee rioting if this goes on too long.

Agreed. The funding of Planned Parenthood started with Richard Nixon and has been routinely approved by every president since -- including both Bushes and the Almighty Saint Reagan -- but that's not good enough for the Tea'tards running the GOP now. I miss the good ol' days when they kept their crazies in check.

Mypay has been down for a while....haven't been able to check anything and can't even get the digital copy of my W2.

Edit: Rechecked Mypay and they have brought our LES's down until they figure out what the hell is going on.
