Grand Theft Auto 4

Really? that's strange. At Game Stop and all other game stores around here I've seen it in both PS3 sections and XBox 360 sections as well as the PC. I wish Rockstar had said something on their site but right now it doesn't say for any system it's on at the official site. But I'm pretty sure it'll still be on the PS3. Every single GTA has been on Sony's systems so far. :P

I want a GTA: Disney World... with an exact disney replica.

that would be hilarious XD

i just wonder with Take 2 trying to sell.. tho i dont know where it went or what happened. now days anytime something is being sold in game industry, MS is buying lol. but again never heard what happened to the situation. also take 2 owns rockstar.

Have you ever considered a career with Rockstar?

Hell ya, I'd love to destroy all of the Disney world.. I hate Disney so XD (well some of Disney's stuff is good)

It's going cross platform this time around. It's coming to the 360 and PS3 and I guess PC. If you look at the game sites you should be able to find the full story behind Sony losing exclusivity. I think it was a matter of money but i'm fuzzy on the full story.

GTA hasn't been exclussive in several years. GTA III to now has been on both sony's systems, x-box, and PC. So far only the PSP games (which were then made for PS2) haven't been made for other systems.

OK, let me elaborate.

This is the reason it's being released on both the PS3 and 360 at the same time. It's a matter of money on Rockstars part.
You have to remember that "exclusivity" is never exactly exclusive. These days it just means it will release on one system first before being released on another. Yes, all those games were released on those other systems like the X-box and PC later on but only after they had a heathy run selling on Playstation first.

These days.. that's not true.. lol FF has been exclusive for Sony for a long time. As in.. name another system FF7, FF8, FF9, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII have been released on :P exclusive to mean means it is ONLY on that system. Right now Dead Rising is an exclusive for 360, Halo 3 will be exclusive for 360. Halo 2 is exclusive for X-Box. Exclusive means exclusive to me, not what's released first on a certain system :P

These two were both released on the PC.
Halo is in the same boat as Mario is for Nintendo. You won't see Halo on another system that isn't microsoft (the PC version doesn't count because it's still Microsoft) the same way you won't see Mario on anything that isn't a Nintendo. Rockstar is a third-party company and it's the deals they make with the Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo etc. that determine what system they release it on first.

oh ya, I forgot FF7 and FF8 were on PC :P If you're gonna say the PC version doesn't count for Halo 1 though than I don't see why you say the same for FF7 and FF8. That's still squaresoft's creation D: and just cause Microsoft makes PC doesn't necessarily mean it was on a microsoft PC. They are different things :P

Some info about GTAIV:

* The protagonist's name is Niko Bellic - an Eastern European immigrant who has come to Liberty City to live the "American Dream." The game is set in Liberty City in 2007, but it is bigger than the Liberty City we saw in GTA III.

* The GTA 4 equivalent of the Statue of Liberty is called the Statue of Happiness... Broker is the GTA IV equivalent of Brooklyn, Manhattan is now called Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, the Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey is Alderney. The map is smaller than San Andreas, but considerably more detailed. No countryside or desert, we are led to believe.

* Rockstar is giving its players more freedom, more choice, and more sense of control over their destiny — the structure of GTA4's storyline is quite different to it's predecessors as it can be told in a number of different ways. You can talk to people in person, by cell phones, and there are a bunch of other ways of giving the player information... In previous GTA games you were like a slave because you had to constantly take orders from people when doing missions. There is still an element of that in Grand Theft Auto 4, but you can also choose how you want to spend your time...

* There are no planes in GTA IV because there is only one city, and Rockstar want the game to seem realistic. That means there will be no rollerblades, no unicycles, probably no jetpacks and indeed no planes. Rockstar are giving choice and variety which feels right for the character. However there will be motorbikes.

* After an initial load sequence, the game will never load again. Not even during exterior-interior transitions (and vice versa).

* Both versions of the game (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will likely be identical, but the Xbox 360 version will have exclusive downloadable episodic [sizeable] content. Rockstar have now spent over 3 years developing the game, and Dan Houser compares the leap from GTA III to GTA IV, to the leap from GTA to GTA III.

* GTA IV will have multiplayer, but it's not going to be a massively multiplayer online game, says Dan Houser. They are trying to make something that is interesting, fun, progressive and which goes along nicely with the single-player game.

Want more info..

I'm disappointed.. the ridiculous stuff was something that made GTA fun :P (like rocket packs). Oh well

What about helicopters? :( I want more silly vehicles like an electric wheel chair or shopping cart

No, way off. Microsoft owns the exclusivity to Halo. What they do with it, so long as it's Microsoft bound, makes it exclusive to Microsoft. There is no way any company other than Microsoft could be exclusive when porting a console game to PC. When porting to CPU you either go Microsoft Windows or MacOS. Seeing as Apple doesn't have a console or a console running MacOS, I hope you get the point. The FF games ported to PC where made for Microsoft Windows(fact), not something Sony therefore, the titles lose all exclusivity to Sony. They are on a Sony Product and a Microsoft product. Exclusiveness has nothing to do with a product being Square's creation and everything to do with the company who has the exclusive on their machine. If Sony had an OS and it was on the Sony OS comp, then, things would be different, but that's not the case.

I see what you mean, but one could play Halo on an Apple, Linux, or Unix system (though you have to tweak things usually or use a separate program). I don't really know if I'd count that as exclusive. But, I do get what you mean.

If they make the mistake of including an airport, there will be a Dodo lying around lol. That was the wonder of flying in GTA3 that they took away when they included airplanes in the game later on, you got a jolt out of flying because we were not meant to do it. I think this will be the case again in GTA4, you must know what I mean.

Realistically there should still be helicopters. I wonder if this 'realism' means they'll quit throwing a huge unstoppable police force/FBI/army at you when you're wanted. I've always wanted a way to evade police, somewhat like the vision system they use in Driver 3.

To be totally fair, the PC versions of FFVII and VIII were garbage and don't even work properly on remotely modern PCs. Most people don't even know they exist.
