GT5 versus Real Life.

I'm calling you stupid, if that didn't connect.

By the way, in GT4 at least, there are like 20 different settings you can change just when you're taking pictures, things like aperture and shutter speed. Let's see if you put 2 and 2 together.

I don't even like GT so I don't know about any settings for snapshots & replays in GT4.

How does not liking colours sloshed around like water-based paints make me stupid, by the way? I mean seriously, look at the third one down on the left especially.

The motion blur really doesn't look that good.

Oooh! Oooh! I wanna play I wanna play! I can post funny pictures like Firestreak too!

Check THIS bad boy out!

Hell yeah.

On a side note. I've always liked Gran Turismo. And you can bet your booty I'll be gettin' this game.

Frame by frame motion blurr with set F stop feilds looks very odd in CG, but induring playback it does not appear so. They all connect making the picture more belivable.

Because i already have this image in my photobucket i'm useing it as an example.

What we're looking at is the wheels on the skateboard, not the background.

When examining frames with extensive motion blurr in my own projects, i notice the same odd appearance. But induring playback it looks fine. Check the Little Big Planet footage of this to see how well the blurr filtering connects when it's not suspended in a single frame. The wheels look solid.

The motion blurr in these Gran Turismo 5 images is a weaker blurr effect. It makes sence cause it's shot at a greater distance with what appears to be a zoomed in Z focus.

Ugly isn't the word for it when you understand the technicalaties of 3D. I think Polyphony should have motion blurr shut off when exposing stills. For the people.

Gran Turismo is what it is and one needn't like it. It's the most visually stunning racing franchise and like any game it will not reach perfection.

Now though i am sure GT5 will be a good game. This is nothing to go crazy over yet.
They have showed nothing. If the screens and videos we saw
were the game engine it doesnt matter. That is not how it
will look while actually racing. I mean you wont get those
stunning views. It will be the same 3 or 4 views, and non
of them will look like those pictures lol. If you are into watching replays over and over go ahead. Here, i post some
PG4 replay pictures. All these are in game engine.
I am not posting them to "beat" GT5. Just dont
understand whats so impressive
about replay screens. Show me the damn behind the car view Polyphony! Make that view impressive or somehow renewed
and they are incredible. If not, just another racer.
EDIT: Dont know what happened to my text lol.

For the people who seem to have missed it (TheOsyris) Those aren't premade stills simply using the Game Engine. Thats what the Game itself looks like. Yes you will get graphics like that in the game because thats how the devs got them. Hell, the GTconcept you can download from the PStore looks almost as good as that, and that's been out for 6 months.

Mara god damn why must you and some others here think you are so cool? Lol. That is not what the game looks like. Thats what the replay looks like. Are you stupid? You cant drive in that view. You cant do anything in a race in that view other then watch a replay. It looks nice, but i would like to see the game from an angle you actualy race. Like behind the car, 1st person, on the hood, behind but angled down a little. It the cockpit view even real from the video? Probably more replay, the camera is facing the driver control a car much like that? Lol. I want to see angle i race with is all. Then a race game can impress me.

Here, let me point it out to you.

Take those pics. Put the camera behind the car. Thats what the game looks like.
Replay just takes the camera from behind the car, and uses it to watch the race again.

Not true at all. Replays usualy look couple steps ahead of actual gameplay visualy. Makes me question if you ever play race games. Off top of head, Gt4, GtHD, Pg2, Pg3, Forza2. All of these enhance visuals during replay.

To be honest I've been playing GT4 lately and I don't notice any increased detail on the replay mode. Maybe though it's evident on a standard def TV, but at least if you have it set to high def they both appear pretty much the same to me. I wasn't really looking for that though, so I'll have to check it out again when I get home. On GT:HD that's there of course. It looks like a completely different game in replay mode.

By the way, some great news. We're getting GT5 Pro in OCTOBER. Here's some screens without the motion blur, by the way.

Still nothing that's in racing mode, but that'll have to be shown pretty soon if the game's hitting October.

Those are ingame shots, though, that are being rendered right there at the moment. The reason why the visuals may be somewhat enhanced, regardless of how minor it is, is because there isn't any AI calculations going on in the background as they've already happened. The replays are probably just read in from some dynamically allocated list (read: something that was putting more stress on the console) that was created during the race itself.

They're not cutscenes, at least as far as I know and have seen.

Here's some screens without the motion blur, by the way.

See, now I'm actually going to comment on the graphics themselves now that I can see what they look like without having a blender involved.

Looks pretty fuckin nice. Considering what GT4 achieved, I'm not surprised at all.

I still hate the series but I'll definitely try to find a friend who owns a PS3 and at least rent the game and check it out (same thing I did with GT4).

Yeah, it looks tons better without the blur. Blur just kinda drowns everything out.

Tires still look glossy though, like they're plastic instead of rubber. Not that big of a deal though.

I do like in a racing game tho, when you use the right analog to move the camera to sides of car and it blurs. Thats cool like when you look out the side window on the highway hehe. Forza2 did not do the blur as you looked to the sides and i was upset;; With Oct release you are right Fire we should see some screens for actual racing angles soon. Any word how big this is? Is it going to be same like GTHD? Couple car, couple track? I know the real game is coming out 08' but just wondering the size of this pre version.

like i said, blurr in most cases looks correct when in motion. If it wern't for technology we would not even see still imagry with blurr.

I don't really know any details except October. I really wanna know what wheels it'll support. They're selling it for $ and it's a GT so I'm sure there will be a lot of playtime to squeeze out of it relative to what they charge.

This is on my wishlist for Gran Turismo 5

Behold Canada's Supercar The Locus Pléthore !!

GT5 will definatly have over 500 cars. And like other GT's before it, this version of the Real Driveing Simluator has got to be bound to contain concept cars. Surely if Sony wanted to implement the Pléthore, Locus is most likely to say hell yes ! They can use the plublicity.

The 39th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS), taking place January 19 to 28, 2007, promises to dazzle visitors when it features, amongst the other exotic vehicles presented on 7th Heaven, the official launch of the prototype for the first ever Canadian supercar, the 2007 Pléthore, from HTT Locus Technologies.

The Pléthore is the brainchild of Quebec designer Luc Chartrand. "It is nicknamed 'The Quebec bomb' and it is entirely composed of carbon fiber, the very same material used in F-1 cars. Not only does it offer incredible visibility from the central driver position, it also has room for as many as three people up to 6'6" in height each... a true first for this class of vehicle", comments a very impassioned Mr. Chartrand.

With its 750 horsepower engine (standard) or its 1,300 horsepower engine (optional) capable of producing speeds exceeding 330 KPH, and its overall weight of 1,100 kg, the Pléthore is an extremely powerful vehicle as demonstrated by its amazing weight to power ratio. The car retails at about $330,000 CDN and its exotic design is simply breathtaking!

Off Topic: I know the Japanese version of GT3 had a Lambourgini in it. But i think it would be nice if GT5 also gave us one.

This my baby... Please let it be in the game;; 270MPH anyone?
Ultimate Aero TT. Some corvette guys helped make it... Its last speed test was screwed due to snow, moved to uneven ground. In test it hit 220 before driver had to back off. By the way at 220 it was half throttle lol. 270!!! WTF.
