Anyway, Ive had a Guild Wars account for several years now (still am not lv 20 lmao.) Been playing a bit in my downtime from FFXI, and noticed that Ive missed a few expansions. I knew about Factions already, but there are apparently 2-3 OTHER expansions after that...

I would like to get the new ones, but damn.. Id be paying near $200 just to get all the expanions, because I dont have any. That bites. There seem to be some cool new professions too...

Anyway, any other GW players here? Casual, or just all the time? And any info on any of the expansions?

Got rank 6 to 7 had a level 20ranger with most skills unlocked. Played till the second expansion. I sold my account before the 3rd exspansion came out though. The game is really enjoyable if you love PvP but of course I think the pvp isn't as good as it use to be.

I'm still siked for Guild Wars2! Can't wait.

Uh^^ Me.
I used to play a lot, but lately came back to FFXI for the time,
might go back if GWEN is really good like it looks^^!
My main characters are:
Ritualist (all builds unlocked, mainly restoration and channel)
Elementalist(all builds unlocked and all 2nd classes ready ^ ^, mainly played Earth in PvE and GvG when Air magic was destroyed by an update, before then my Guild only did 6 main Elementalist (Air) and 1 protection 1 healing/protection monk, was really good!(^^) )
I had an Assasin i used just for keeping our guilds town, we had to
run 10,000 faction/day^ ^; Part of the reason I stopped playing, tired of
the in game drama with Gw:Factions.

I picked up Nightfall a long time ago. I think my Ranger was like, level 9 or 10 after the first couple of days. I really couldn't get the hang of the game though, people were generally pretty rude and I didn't know what to do, who to do it with, or where to go. I had been invited to a guild, but they didn't offer much in the way of advice for things. I wouldn't mind trying it again casually, but I dunno, I'd have to play with someone who could show me the ins and outs. I namely got it because a friend had said the PvP was excellent, and I love good, solid PvP in a game, which is why I kinda cursed FFXI a bit when BLU came out... totally destroyed the limited PvP there was.

I know what you mean, Usually the NA/EU community in gw is really bad,
the japanese servers are nice but really empty, which is why
I got the NA version. ( _ _) I said In the other post, I'm downloading the
game again now, I have NF Factions and Original, so I'd love to help you with
it(^^) I have greens from my old raids, I wouldn't mind sharing(^^)b

Guild Wars has delivered the top notch PVP experience I was looking for.
The GvG and AvA will have your heart pumping. It's definitely a rush(^^) PvP
random arena is so addicting too. I would love to help you get
started, maybe we could make a missions static of some type, the
missions are so much better when you do them with friends,
it is the same with PvP, or most games, more enjoyable with people
you know(^^)b

I played the original one but I didn't get the exspansions. May pick up GW:EN. I was a RNG/MNK and I played a beastmaster build. I did get lvl 20 and ascended but I did not get all the skill points and such unlike Tristam. My character's name was Stine Green.

Ive not got that far in GW.. Im lv 13 now, and just doing missions. I still dont have a good hang of the game, but I can play it and get through it okay. I feel kind of pathetic, because I scavenge everything, lol. No matter what it is, I pick it up to sell, and anything I sell for like.. 50g + I get happy over... And I know its not really a lot, hahah...

Anyway, I was reading about other professions, and Denvish really interests me. Makes me think of Dark Knight Just need to get the expansion(s)... Which Im hesitant to do, lol.

To OP:

If I were you, I would wait for GWEN unless you have
the urgent need to spend 100 dollars on GW .__. , The downside
to GW is paying up front kind of costs a lot ( _ _) p2p subscription is
a hassle for a lot of people, I like the stability GW offers.

To the Greens:
I also would maybe just recommend Nightfall,
you get a lot more out of it, and they are seemingly
finished updating Factions, all the focus is on NF,
Dungeon/item/job wise, so if you want, you could probably just wait
for GWEN, either way,

I would really love to start GWEN together ^^

Tristam has Nightfall but I did not get it. GW was his MMO and FFXI was mine and we got each other to play it. I just happened to get him hooked on FFXI mainly because my sister and brother both play FFXI. My brother did play GW some but my sister did not. I am not sure if I will get Nightfall but either way it would be fun to run around and figure out GWEN together. I think that I need to finish the Fanctions storyline though.

I played Guild wars for a short time in 2005 (I think it was then lol), I got to around level 12 when it got really really boring for me.

Since the beginning of 2006, I don't play it any more.

It is a good game, I just found it boring.

Guild Wars got me hooked on MMOs in general. I had sworn them off until I picked it up.

My character:

Tristam Green
lv20 Ascended Elementalist/Mesmer
3 sets of Infused armor
All skill points attained
I think I'm only missing 3 of the original cap skills for Elementalist and Mesmer.

I played Nightfall a little right after it came out as a Dervish. I really wanted to carry a scythe but was just unimpressed with the story. Maybe I'll pick it up later.


edit: Guild Wars: Prophecies kicked ass, just not as much the second go-round.

Maybe Yuumii I can barely remember hardly anyone in Guild Wars aside from my very old friend Blueflame Ranger aka Thazel Swiftshot (from Hong Kong).

I used the following builds:

General exp/missions, Sorrow's Furnace: Fire Nuker with a 16 in Fire Magic.
PvP/Colosseum: Water Hexer with 16 in Energy Storage (put me up over 100 energy)
Tomb of the Primeval Kings/Fissure of Woe/Underworld: Earth spiker/Warder. My allies would take the 0 damage, but was that ever exhaustive (overuse of Obsidian Flame FTL)...

I played guild wars when it first came out. After beating the first release a few times on different jobs I quit to play FFXI more. I saw the expansions when each were released and I did wanted to try them out but I was just hooked on FFXI. The PvP was nice though in Guild Wars, but mostly I was hooked on the storyline of the game. I played war/mnk and rng/mnk.

About runes... I have a few questions...

First question, is it 1 run per set of armor?? Or can I get 5 runes for each piece of armor??

Second question, as elementalist, which runes should I get.. Im stuck between choosing Energy storage rune, and fire rune..
