Guitar Hero III

heh, sorry boss. that wasnt so much a jab at you as it was what playing 'Through the Fire and Flames' on expert makes me wanna do. It is easily the most ridiculous song I have ever seen on Guitar Hero.

Ah, ok then, I understand.

Though I seriously do find the stuff on Tier 7 more painful than the stuff on Tier 8. Even The Devil Went down to Georgia is less painful than tier 7. O_o

i have almost every song on hard five starred lol. I barley played till my friend came to town and weve been doing some co op till he leaves, i honestly surprise myself with how good i got..when GH3 first came out i was struggling on medium because i only played GH2 through easy mode and never played again.
now im bum rushing expert and only need one more song.
then its on to TTFaF.
 
I was playing 80's edition before GHIII came out. I played through that on expert, there was a lot of crazy note combinations there, so it really prepped me for some of the things you see on GHIII. I'm currently on the 2nd last bracket on expert on GHIII. I can 5star stricken, but the rest of the songs I just cant play for some reason. My brain just doesn't work for the cords from slipknot, the bridge kills me but its the easiest god damn part:(, and I can play most of 3's and 7's.

I need to get rockband for PS3, and see if the guitar is backwards compatible with it. I know GHII guitars work for rockband, so I hope I can use that guitar for GHIII. It is set up WAY better, and with the solo buttons TTaTF should be attainable, instead of impossible. The top frets are all flush with each other, so transitions are infinitly easier, and the solo buttons are all about the width of your pinky, and flush so you could easily hit every button no problem for the opening, along with zero strain on your finga's.

Honestly Slipknot I found to be one of the easier songs to play. I had a bitch of a time with Stricken for some reason.

I know the PS3 GH3 guitars won't work with RockBand, and that RockBand guitars won't work with GH3 ( Official RockBand forums ). And even if they did, there would be no support for the solo buttons, until an update to GH3 would be issued. And since Activision doesn't even want their guitars used in a competitors product, I don't think they'll be updating their own game to incorporate a unique third-party product.
 
Actually Raining Blood's chart is extremely accurate, especially Mosh 1 (which is a pretty terrifying thought I know). Actually Mosh 1 is more forgiving on GH3 than it is on a real guitar because you have to strum the whole thing on a guitar.

I passed Jordan three nights ago btw.. five stars ;)

Same. I find Disturbed to be one of the more difficult songs, right up there with Slayer and Faggotforce.

anyone like Battle mode besides me? I like it when I'm not against someone on easy or medium (it's impossible to fail them out, period). If anyone ever wants to play on Live sometime, lemme know

Nice work on the Before I forget FC. I feel shamed that I can't get past 8% on hard now ._.

Before i forget on hard is cake walk, the intro is my fave part to play. Theres a Rhythm to it that makes it easy, but expert was hell for me at first...luckily i beat it my second try
 
Woo! I finally beat raining blood, I have now completed Expert mode! Couldnt sleep lastnight so i got up and gave it a few more tries, Then i made it through and beat the hell out of that song! Then Lou went down on my first try!
Now i prepare to beat Through the fire and flames on expert, and i got about 3 songs i need to 5 star on hard mode, then i begin the quest to five star all expert songs >.>
 
I've now five starred every GH3 song on expert except Raining Blood, Nothing For Me Here, Take This Life, and Through the Fire and Flames.

I'm getting real close to the mark on TTL. Still a zillion miles away on RB, NFMH, and TTFAF though. =/ Highest avg multiplier I've reached on each is like 2.2. Arg.

edit: oh and the only GH2 five star I'm missing is Six. =) I can finally clear Jordan, and I FINALLY got five stars on stupid Thunderhorse...
 
just keep at it, in my experience my first time through hard i 3 starred almost everything, then i started on expert, three starred everything, went back to hard and replayed every song, five starred every thing, went back to expert, which is what im doing now, and im five starring everything.
its just practice and going back and forth and youll get better!
 
Only thing I can't beat on Hard is Lou. Quite frustrating really that he's the only thing keeping me from that achievement.
 
try this,
Sign in to your profile, go to the options menu,
go to cheats (as long as you have them entered)
Turn on No Fail and Easy Expert.
Go to quickplay, choose Through the fire and flames, Play through about 7% of the song.
Pause it, Quit and return to main menu.
once you are at the main menu, sign out of your gamertag and then sign right back in.
Go through all the menus again in GH3 and once you choose your hard drive, go to Career,
Hard mode.
and go battle lou. Be surprised with what happens.
And keep this glitch on the Down low ok, hardly anyone knows about it.
 
sorry for the necrobump, but I don't think enough people care about this to warrant a new thread. Activision officially announced the first of their asston of GH game coming out this year: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. It's going to feature Aerosmith and "songs from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way", which makes me think it'll be like a normal GH game, but each encore will be an Aerosmith song, possibly?

But for those of us who didn't like shelling out $50 for GH80s and think this will be a ripoff too, at least we're going to get something.
