Guitar Hero III

There's no way to play the boss battles outside of career -YET-, but some of the future DLC has already leaked onto scorehero. There's a Velvet Revolver pack, a Foo Fighters pack, and a pack with the three boss songs (I would HOPE it's free...).

I'm excited. I hope there is a Dethklok pack also, that would be bitchin.

I played GH3 yesterday at uni, it kicked ass... I sucked at TtF&F on Expert.... but it kicked ass, I am in awe.

Oh yeah, a Dethklok pack would kick ass.

Also hoping for a Dragonforce pack too... say 1 from each album.

*Valley of the Damned from Valley of the Damned Rerelease
*Fury of the Storm from Sonic Firestorm

and finally

*unknown song Dragonforce might play at Black Crusade from they're next album which according to Metal Hammer UK, it'll be out next summer.

That would be awesome.

The two DLC packs came out today, 500 MS point per pack.

Velvet Revolver:
-Slither
-She Builds Quick Machines
-Messages

Foo Fighters:
-The Pretender
-This Is a Call
-All My Life

Also, a pack containing the three boss battles will be available sometime this month, free of charge, for playing them outside of career.

Epic. Simply Epic.

Holy. Shit!

Beat that my 3rd try, holy shit that's a beast of a song. There's no more argument about what the hardest song in the GH series is (Jordan vs TTFAF), this is it.

And to everyone who hasn't already found out: The boss battle DLC pack is out for free. On single player you play both solos. Co-op has Lead playing the boss' part and Rhythm playing your part.

IMO Jordan is still harder to pass. I got to 69% of Devil Went Down To Georgia on my sightread, and failed shortly after missing a DEAD EASY star power phrase due to an overstrum - while I had a quarter bar already. Would've been able to keep going if I hadn't overstrummed. (About 4:20 in the above video)

Sad times.

By the way -

Although you got 69%, you still had another 15-20% of the song to go that's pure solo. Maybe you would've passed if you had the SP, but that's still a lot of solo to go through (and the final part of it is pretty crazy imo). But Jordan still deserves that honorable position of the song that took me months to pass.

Congrats on the Log. I remember shouting when I nailed Psychobilly Freakout and Misirlou in the same day... That's one of my most cherised gaming accomplishments ever.

Oh, I didn't say I'd pass if I'd had that star power, just that I could've kept going. ;)

Some Guitar Hero fans have been unhappy with the cost of downloadable songs for the series since its debut on the Xbox 360 earlier this year. Microsoft and Activision are set to silence those complaints for at least one day, as the pair announced that in appreciation to their fans, they will offer the "Mjolnir Mix" of the Halo theme song as a free downloadable track for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on Thanksgiving.

Written and partly performed by Martin O'Donell and Michael Salvatori, the track also features some guitar shredding courtesy of real-life guitar hero Steve Vai. Vai got his start playing with Frank Zappa, has since played with Whitesnake, participated in the guitar-centric G3 tour, and showcased his skills in the 1986 film Crossroads, where he was the devil's surrogate axe-man in a guitar duel for the soul of Ralph Macchio's character.

This is the second time Activision has produced free Guitar Hero III track downloads. The first such offering allowed players to play the game's three boss battles all the way through as standard songs apart from the game's career mode.
GOOD NEWS 360 OWNERS!!

holy shit awesome O_O Steve Vai + Halo = win. epic, epic win.

They screwed that song up too much picking.

Stuck on Lou on Medium for Wii.

You're fuckin crazy dude. I watch my brother play medium and go 'wtf' at some of that shit. I mean Hard alone is some crazy shit, that orange button is a bitch, that's when it really gets tough. Back to my point, Slayer on medium looks impossible to me, I can't even imagine expert. You play way the fuck too much =P

I played that on wii for the first time last night and yeah some of those songs on medium are hard for me. Then I got curious to see how well I could tackle expert and I basically lost right at the beginning of the song. I just don't see how people can do it. But I only played once so maybe I'll improve. We'll see.

They really fucked up Raining Blood like I said. There should be more hammer ons and less pull offs. Even on easy Raining Blood was the only song I got less than 90% on.

I played through GHIII (I finally got it) on Hard first, but Slipknot killed my wrists. So I went to medium just to unlock Through the Fire and Flames. Anyways, The battles seems more difficult on the lower settings as there are fewer notes for the boss characters to slip up on. Anyways, Raining Blood is indeed crazy ^^;

I'm gonna retry hard mode sooner or later.
