Hachiman Gimp?

It isn't worth it. The only time you can really make good use of Askar Body is if you have a Amano because the loss of acc is too great to use Askar Body in any real fights so Hauby is still better then Askar Body.

I think that's situational. I've PTed with Roadkill on many occasions, and he full times Askar and before that Byrnie +1 I think. He had no trouble with ACC in merits. Speaking of merits, GK merits and Sushi 'could' maybe make up for the loss in ACC on the Haubergeon . . . race could have something to do with it as well.

You just said what I said. You can get away with it in merit parties because the mobs generally lack evasion unless its a Thief Mamool. But in any real endgame situation you won't be able to use it unless you have amano.

I haven't used sushi on my samurai in years. Even in endgame, my acc was high enough that meat was always the best option. An ace's helm or Usukane Somen would replace most of the accuracy you'd lose by full timing an askar body; and you could make up the rest with a different set of boots since you won't need hachiman feet anymore.

If it makes you use sushi it's probably not worth it.
Askar is only better if you are around capped acc imo, kind of bugs me when I see these people trying to use it and having acc in the 70% range.

About domoruu don't know why sams love it so much even my old friend streetz used a domoruu+1 for ws which I guess is decent, not sure if it beats hauby+1 or osode for ws but he swore by it, though this was all before the 2h update so how things compare may be different.

Each piece of armor is situational. Can't say 'this' is better than 'this'. That's why...you buy all the sets and swap as needed. Pricey, but at least you'd have everything for every situation you run into.

I can say that Domaruuuuuuuuuu is crap because Osode is better for SATA ws and you should never be meleeing in this over a hauby or even askar.

I think the reason many SAMs are using the Hachiman Body at 75, is the exact same reason you see PLDs using Adaman feet at 75.

They are just not aware of the benefits vs the disadvantages to some gear. They don't do any additional reading on the job and the gear they can obtain at 75. (And honestly I kinda think its retarded that a video game requires that you do some research in order to complete a quest, gear your job appropriately etc etc)

So unless they're lucky enough to encounter players that are willing to give them advice on what gear they could be using that has been proven to be better, then you're going to continue seeing them sport gear like Hachiman Body.

But then again, it seems now that whenever you try to be helpful to players and give them advice on better gear choices (assuming you give reasons why the gear is better) they just end up taking offense. So I can also see why not many people even bother to send a polite /tell to players anymore to try and help them with gear choices.

You're completely forgetting the fact that any sam at 70+ should have been wearing hauby for the last 11 levels anyway.
so:
A) hachiman body is gimp
B)Anyone wearing it either weakened themselves by putting on a completely inferior peice or was too gimp to get a "standard" peice of gear.

Did you even bother to read what I typed??? I said ive never seen a SAM KEEP the hachiman body on, just macro it in. I never disagreed that its gimp, but it DOES have its benefits.

I read it perfectly fine. Now from what you just replied with i shall respond with a question. Are you implying that a person who decides to gimp himself by not wearing a peice they own(since you said they swap the dooooommmmaaarruuuu in) is making a logical and rational descision?

Most of the time, if you do this rather it be in a polite, or offensive way...they automatically think:

"Man, this person must think I must suck or something... because this person is telling me my gear isn't so great"

Last time someone I knew even said something as simple as a Corsair should use Uggy pendent for Card Shots, instead of INT(Which doesn't effect Card Shot DMG)...

The Corsair in return told them to go fawk off, die and proceeded to explain how all their 75 jobs makes them know more about their jobs than the other corsair.

Of course you need MP or a means to trigger 50% MP with a sub other than mage, which can be done with merits or the sort, but my point still stands~

Just entirely depends on who you're talking to really.

I can't even see this as a reason for the body, because at 70, the body is the one slot where Hachiman is the most outclassed by what you already have there. All the other slots evolve up from what you have at 70, but the body you have the make a conscious decision to trade down.

People Say oh, Str is the mod on Sam weapon skills, but there is a point where it's not worth losing other stats. As far as meleeing in it, I really think it's "OMG I have to have a six hit set up," because it is inferior by a long way.

Since someone mentionned Nyzul body, might as well mention Usukane Haramaki, with probably the same dificulty to obtain: STR+8 DEX+8 INT+8 sTP+6 acc+12 eva+12....

Actually i think the game always considers 0/0 mp as <51%. Thats easily tested tho, as i wont guarentee it.

The pendant has +mp so simply wearing the pendant activates the latent if your job doesnt have mp.

Well the only places I've seen Sams wearing the Hachiman Body is at Beseiged or Campaign battles really, and there I also see many other jobs wearing gear that looks good rather than exp/merit party ready.

Anytime I've exp/merited the Sam's I see are pretty much always wearing Harbys unless they macro in the Hachiman for various reasons. campaign/Beseiged are for fun and people dust down their favorite pieces of gear for those events.

lol yeah I see them all over the place... not only is the body terrible, but it looks really bulky and unattractive. It's like grimace, but green :shok: Hachiman HQ feet are pretty much the only piece from this set that you can get away w/... and most people who are able to get the HQ feet could probably get their hands on salvage feet, which destroy the JSE.

If you don't have Rajas/Askar/Salvage pieces sometimes hands are decent as the first six hit build (along w/ feets) I find the hachiman latent (active when tp is 100+) has become a little more relevent now with Sekkanoki, as storing TP beyond 100 once in a while is actually usefull.

HQ Hachiman feet are a waste of money. You don't need the 1 more store TP unless you don't have a Brutal, in which case you'd be better off spending the money and buying 75 ancient beast coins and getting that.

I agree you don't need the extra Store TP, it's just a luxury piece for those who don't want to give up STR on the ws macro. Rutter feet are nice for the +3STR, and the HQ feet match that.... Theres a lot better places to spend 3 mil on 1 STR than these feet though, I just crafted mine so i'm biased I guess
