Is there some reason so many 75 Samurai's are using Hachiman Domaru over Haubergeon? You lose 10 accuracy/attack for 3 more STR over Haubergeon. Usually using it with Rajas Ring and Fuma Sune-Ate.

So, lose 10 accuracy/attack for 3 more STR, 8 WS accuracy, 3% haste and 11 Store TP (with Rajas).

Over using Haubergeon, keeping the 10 accuracy/attack, 5 STR, using Rajas Ring and just using Hachiman feet.

I highly doubt that 3% haste out weights Haubergeon if that's what these gimps are going for.

If it's for a six-hit build, you're getting the same effect with Hachiman feet and Rajas Ring.

I r confused.

You answered it yourself. Hauby > Hachiman Domaruuuuu.

I don't know where you're getting the haste from >.>

I don't see 3% haste on it

I said in the post, most people who are using Domaru are also using Fume Sune-ate.

Its 2 am, I can't read >_>

Maybe it's because I'm mean.. But if someone wearing that joined my merit party.. I'd kick them. It's irritating. But yah.. Hauby is amazingly better than:
DOMARUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUu

That made my day btw.

It's a halfway decent piece, but yeah, nowhere near better than a Hauby. I honestly don't know why I'm seeing so many either, unless some new trend is starting where people stop using a hauby...

Keep in mind that SAM's were meant to spam weaponskills, plus the fact that hasso adds to their acc and str may be the reason why people use the hachiman body piece. i for one have rarely seen a sam KEEP it on, more like macro it in for weaponskills and such. having not yet leveled the job that high i really wouldnt know the reasoning behind it. One thing for sure tho, is theres no need to call them "gimps" as to their may actually be a good reason behind it.

You're completely forgetting the fact that any sam at 70+ should have been wearing hauby for the last 11 levels anyway.
so:
A) hachiman body is gimp
B)Anyone wearing it either weakened themselves by putting on a completely inferior peice or was too gimp to get a "standard" peice of gear.

and cheap what's more. It's only like 150 k <.<

I think people are rushing to get six hit builds ASAP and at all costs. They may be missing merits & rajas. When I see another Sam in one, they usually have more than one piece of Hachiman on. So I think people are just trying to get a 6 hit as soon as possible as the expense of other stats.

I agree and in some cases this would actually be okay. Pre-75 Caedarva Mire PT would be one of the only place I'd see a 6 hit set-up as an 'okay' place. In all honesty, the only time I'd ever see Domaru over a Haubergeon would be during a WS with /thf sub.

I can't see why people would choose to full time Domaru over Haubergeon, unless they're trying for a haste set up, in which they're using Dusk Gloves +3% haste, and one of the Fuma boots +3% haste or even Dusk Ledelsens +2% haste.

6 hit in the mire? uh... does amnesia mean anything to you?

I kind of had the same problem on my drk. I needed +5 store tp for my 6 hit build and I didn't have access to rajas because I already had a tamas. So instead I was using an askar body for the Store TP and forsaking the Hauberk +1 and using a Woodsman to compensate on acc.

I kept wrestling with my demons:

Is 2% double att, better then 11 dex and 7 acc? (regardless of how cool I thought askar looks?) No...

So I manned up, swapped the tamas, shelved the askar, and chucked the woodman and have had better stats ever since.

Even if I had the rajas already and the 6 hit build wasn't an issue, straight up hauberk +1 beats askar body and plastron imo.

Question: I do see alot of SAMS with Askar Body instead of Haubergeon. How is that any better? The same argument can be made for losing 5 dex and 10 acc?

Hahaha, that's true. Maybe they have the Ecphoria Ring inside their build somewhere . . . no Rajas, but a Brutal Earring and Chiv. Chain? o.O Or maybe they're just stacking up the TP because they don't have merits yet . . . <shrugs>

It isn't worth it. The only time you can really make good use of Askar Body is if you have a Amano because the loss of acc is too great to use Askar Body in any real fights so Hauby is still better then Askar Body.

Well with an Askar you have more Double Attack, and can have a 6 hit and still have Haste on hands and feet, or just more flexibility in those slots.

I don't have an Askar, but I wouldn't use it unless I was making up the stats somewhere else. If you have an Ace's Helm, Usakane Sune-Ate, or a Relic GKT, capped GKT merits. I don't see any downside to using an Askar, since the acc lose is really the only thing you would worry about.

Just my 2 gil, I haven't really been playing Sam long enough to say things as fact lol.
