Halo 3 - Update of Updates

Fuck you Osy its Jereme. No fucking Y damn it.

I have to say achievement points don't mean a whole lot me. I have a pretty high gamer score but as most of my friends say. I buy just about every fucking game that comes out. I will say achievements is what gets me to buy most games on xbox over ps3 but most of my friends play everything on xbox so I at least have someone to talk to about the game while playing it. I prefer being able to have a conversation with a friend about a game we are both playing and possibly helping each other solve puzzles in the game out. I could do this over the phone but that would cost minutes. I prefer a ps controller. I just don't really like how bulky the xbox controller is.

Individual achievements may unlock individual awards. The gamerscore number as a whole doesn't do anything.

And seriously, it's easy to be happy winning some achievement contest, getting $5 worth of gamerpics or whatever here and there, with what, 40,000 gamerscore? We're talking about 40 games worth of full achievements, which would be, full retail $2400... ? Some of us don't mod our Xbox 360s and some of us don't download our games. I'm not trying to criticize cause I don't really give a shit, but it kind of skews your perspective on the value of achievements when the games to unlock them are free to you, no?

i have owned or rented 95% of the games on my profile, otherwise it would have never showed up on live that i was playing those games or appear in the leader boards since my modded box is banned from live. I signed up for gamefly some time ago so ive been mainly gettin my stuff from there. i have played well over 40 games to get to that point. And even if i did get achievements from free games, i eventually played the retail version anyway, its not like i have an option that says i can turn off achievements just because all i wanna do is play the game.
Now adays the only time i tend to DL any games is if its an early leak, like the current Saints row 2 and Fracture leaks. But i will have both of those games when they come out too.
Gamerscore may not do anything now, but you will not be able to earn those prizes coming up if you have not reached a certain gamerscore increase by certain times or certain achievements, much like the old spice challenge (which gave away full retail games, arcade games, t-shirts and MS points btw, the gamerpics were free without even having to do the challenge)
where you must increase your gamerscore by X amount by X date, which they gave you like 2 months to do so it was no big deal. I have been playing xbox since release, 40k is nothing compared to those with 200k +. I just happen to play alot of games, and i dont always go after every single achievement like some people.

I have bought or borrowed every game on my list. I also trade some of those games back in after a while. Usually trade them in when they have a big automatic +$15 plus 30%. When Madden came out I traded in about 6 games and got 220 trade in value. I lost a total of $140 give or take. It wasn't a big deal because they were games I wasn't going to play again. They were just sitting there collecting dust.
