In November 2008, we discovered an issue that allowed players to create multiple items for certain treasures and rewards in areas such as Salvage and Assault by exploiting the game system.

The issue was fixed during emergency maintenance on November 26, 2008. However, we discovered that some players had already exploited the issue and used it to gain additional items before it was addressed. We then investigated more than a year's worth of logs throughout all areas.

As a result of the investigation, approximately 400 players were temporarily suspended based on the evidence gathered. Approximately 550 players who committed more serious misconduct had their accounts banned.

We are working hard to ensure that these kinds of issues do not occur again in FINAL FANTASY XI. However, if you discover any problems with the game system, please submit a GM call or fill out the feedback e-mail form to report the problems to us, instead of exploiting or spreading the issue.

we learned the trick just a bit the day after they did emergency. Also remember that people were abusing the shit out of it in Sandworm BC to dup ancient torque and the like.


Incoming: rotted HNMls members banned, see BG people who claimed they eploited the shit out of it to upgrade relics.

Nope. Never did it, and yet we have 174 35 drops total.

If we'd have done it, we would have had 522 drops, yay?

Glad i never found out about it... i probably would have used it too.

Is there a list of people that got the ban? Anyone from Quetz? Idk, I'm so far out of the circle of Salvage/Assault its laughable.
 
I wanna see at least one person with a relic get the stick off this...

i know wopa got temped atleast
i also heard most of SapereAude is temped atleast

And i dont know of anyone from quetz that got it offhand but the rumor tree from when it was first out was the fygla used it heavily to dupe alex so lets see when he gets back online since he is currently offline. And no i am not saying that fygla did this cause i have no idea... just saying i was told that back when it first came out.

I like how the banned people go "FFXI is losing their best players" blabla. Obviously the best players are found among cheaters ~
 
very possible but i dont think that one has been confirmed yet
 
Basically check FFXIAH's top characters and click "overall" to see who is getting banned ~

Honestly it is stupid of se to ban these people. It flaw in SE programing they should have caught it. To ban some best and longest customers is stupid. Good thing I don't do salvage. Because I know for a fact I would have used it had I known about it.
