Im not that too familiar with haste gear due to being a rng >.>
But do i get penalized for lets say taking off my Haste+3% to equip my Str rse for WS? i never want to be a 1 armor set any job... but im hopeing i can do a str gear swap for WS and switch back to haste/att with little effect on my haste.

The Haste gear only lowers your weapon delay (I'm assuming that's why you're equipping it?) while you're wearing it, but if you're only subbing it out for your WS, then it's not really going to slow you down very much...

It wont effect it if your quickly swapping in and out mattchu, because the 2.5 seconds it takes you to press your WS macro and then press your Haste macro again isn't going to hurt you, and it's going to give you better results on your WS's.

It's not going to affect you, and if it does it'll only be for 1 round tops. I suggest using a windower macro that has your WS swap, then WS, then TP swap all in one macro so you can't mess it up and TP in slow (sup rutter sabatons) gear.

If you're worried about timers, your haste% will only apply when the spell is cast. So if you cast Utsu:Ichi with 25% haste (recast: ~23sec), then take off all that +haste gear, your recast will still count down from 23sec.

I'm pretty sure your delay is set in stone when you perform an attack round, and swapping haste/slow gear in between attack rounds will NOT affect your attack speed in any way as long as you don't attack wearing your slower gear.

I definately notice a difference with my haste gear on >.> You need to have it equipped when you attacked though, not sure if swapping between attack rounds does anything, but as a nin I basically don't stop swinging so I couldn't test it if I wanted to :\... but the only reason you shouldn't have your haste gear on if you have a haste setup is for WS or enmity if you're tanking and those should only be equipped for 3 seconds max.

When I get more haste gear and more Hecatomb I'll see if I can test my theory.

What exactly is your theory. That you can swap slow in and out or something? I think what happens is the game checks to see how much haste/slow you have as you attack and puts the next attack round at that time.

From what I understand, his theory about melee swings is roughly the same as my explanation on recast timers. Delay until next swing is calculated once and once only, at the time of each swing. Removing/adding haste/slow gear will not affect how long until your next swing, if it's done between attack rounds.

Thats the way I see what he's saying, not my opinion. Haven't looked at this closely enough to form one of my own but I'd probably bank on the above.

Speaking from an ease of programming, that explanation would be much easier to code, it wouldnt surprise me if that would be true.

It is. It's why using hundred fists right after you attack is a pretty dumb idea, because instead of the sped up delay, you have to wait through your normal delay until your next slew of attacks.

Easiest way to test this is with one handed and two handed weapons. I've done it a million times farming. Equip a low delay one handed weapon to start, swing a few times, and right as you see the action of the swing switch to your two-handed weapon. Your first attack with the high-delay will be low, as the (for lack of a better term) "recast" on the low-delay weapon was already started. Swing a few times with the high delay, and switch back on the action sequence again. Your first attack with the low-delay weapon will come at the two-handed weapons delay.
