Haste or ACC and attack?

I disagree. I would take 3% haste over 1 acc and 1 attk, ANY DAY.

Depends on your setup and your job and what you're fighting, amongst other things. On T-VT, 3% haste is better. On IT's... it's probably still better, especially if you have a decent amount of haste gear already.

Change title thought it was about enmity as has "Hates" not "hastes"

Depends on how much haste you already have and whether its getting you another hit or not. I recently had a topic on alla talking about 5% haste turbin VS Adaman Celeta.

However 1 acc and 1attk VS 3% haste seems negligable. Seems like the haste would win out. 1 attk and 1 acc wont help you all that amount, but 3% haste may get you another hit per fight here and there.

same... haste lowering delay means more attacks, and will make up for more than 1 attack and 1 acc.

I'm currently using:

Fuma Kyahan on my 43 SAM

Not sure if I should trade that in for the Lusiant Solerets at 45

Use the fuma. if you get haste casted on you even once or have an extra long fight the boost will be noticable.
Swap to luisant if you wish during ws.

What you should get are the Fed. Kyahan. +4 ATK. Fuma are pointless alone 3% haste is laughable.

Call me cheap, but I really don't feel like spending 1 mil + on boots at this lvl just to swap them in for a WS.

Yeah hence i said if you wish. if you wanna go spend a ton of money on something to swap during ws for +1 atk be my guest.
And the 3% haste will actually matter vs +4 atk shaunessy if haste is casted on the sam. other wise the difference from the haste is negligible.

problem is so few people ever haste the sam.

No. It's not.
wait... wait... you fucking fail.

Haste 3 will blow acc 1 att one out of the water.

The Haste spell will add the same amount of f*cking haste whether or not you're wearing the bloody Fumas. 15% isn't much of a difference from 12% if you aren't worried about Utsusemi timers... which a Samurai isn't.

Federation Kyahan are better than both of those options, but the Luisant Solerets are pretty good too for SAM because of the STR boost. Keep in mind also that if the STR+1 boosts your total STR to an even number, it'll give you an additional att+1.

Yea don't listen to Shaunessy... he rarely knows what he is talking about anyways. 3% haste definatly wins out over +1 att and +1 acc or even +4 att IMO, hands down. You can merit your great katana skill but you can't merit haste.

There is a difference between something that matters and something that makes you look like you are attacking fast. The vast opinion that "You need 20 or 25 percent haste for it to matter" is totally false.3 perent haste is pretty much way better than 4 attack imo cuz if u look at ur stats 4 attack wouldn't really be equal to the dps percent u get from 3 percent haste.Haste spell is something that comes in after. But at 75.... if it was like 9 str vs 3 or 4 haste then ofcourse 9 str might just be alot more better cuz that's like 11 or 12 percent percent of your strength. On top of that with haste you also give more tp to the mob which can sometimes cost your party mp on curing the tank. But it's all situational. It's more like hitting harder but less vs hitting alot but for low dmg.OFcourse for some jobs without subtle blow the hitting harder would be better than hitting for lower dmg but putting in alot more swings. And not everyone ws's right at 100 percent tp =0

Ok, so on a weapon that attacks on every 6 second approx. 3% haste will speed you up nowhere near a worthwhile speed to pass up +1 ATK +1ACC +1 STR and +1DEX, it is also nowhere near the advantage of +4 ATK. You know what Fuma are good for, MNK. Also good for NIN 50+, but only when used with other haste+ gear. Like if you are say a MNK who has a brown belt. Then with the boots and the belt you have +11% haste. That is good. THe boots alone are pointless though. Get some Fed. Kyahan so that what you are wearing actually has a point.

% is %

Also, when everyone else is basicly saying you're wrong, you probably are wrong.

Perhaps these figures would help:
At level 75, on merit mobs (T- low VT)

Expected damage increase over time from 3% haste: ~1.9-2.6%
Expected damage increase over time from +1 acc: ~0.2-0.4%
Expected damage increase over time from +1 atk: ~0.1-0.2%
Expected damage increase over time from +1 str: depends on job and ws. (for non-ws < 0.2%)
Expected damage increase over time from +1 dex: depends on job and ws. (for non-ws < 0.2%)

Remember, atk doesn't scale linearly, so it depends on what your current atk is. These are approximate numbers I've gathered with people using A/A+ rating weapons, high on the atk curve (~3/5min berserk or meat), weapon merit maxed, with no bard.

The reason haste equipment dishes out nice numbers on parsers is because it scales linearly, while higher atk has diminishing returns, and it's difficult to get the same amount of acc to match the effect of haste in a single equipment slot (and well-equipped people already get very close to the 95% acc hard cap on T mobs anyway).
