Have the times really changed this much?

1.) I like the part when he says you are lazy. He's the slacker for not having meds that cost 7,000g each.

2.) Mount Z is NOT hard to navigate and takes like 5mins tops to get to the camp. A quick glance and an online map will show Mount Z has a rather simple and small layout.

My personal opinion is that everyone involved acted like a dickhead and it's an example of both sides being stubborn and pigheaded. I, myself only get pissed at people that I have had mulitiple encounters w/o them having proper items. How many fight does it take to win back those b-i-g HUGE 200 ISP? Will you need them tomorrow?

Anyway...that's just me.

The fact here is that in this case, the person in question, flat out refused to get the bare essentials that are needed to be a good player. I never asked him to have all HQ gear, nor did I even ask him to be the best player for that matter. I just wanted him to pull his own weight, which in his eyes was way too much work to bare for one person.

I dont know how he got to level 66 by mooching offa people the whole time, and I would not be helping this person further advance themselves just so I can get exp too. Its not worth it in my book.

because you guys dont know your fucking jobs? its not hard

Mage's job is not to sneak or invisible people. It is each players job and responsibility to be properly prepared with the items necessary to exp, do a event, etc.

whats the huge deal, iv caste sneak on people in sky when they ran out o oils

Seriously... did you see what you typed? You have casted sneak on people in sky WHEN THEY RAN OUT OF OILS. So they initially brought them, they did not bring enough. Yet, you brought none to an area where the first think you encounter is a cluster of bombs that aggro by sight and by magic. Also, do you know the difference in time and distance between: Sky > A City > Sky vs Staging Point > Whitegate > Staging Point (getting back to grab oils and return to event/party)? You could've easily returned and bought some, so the sky scenario does not apply as a analogy.

There are situations when it can be a burden for someone to go back and get meds if they forget them. One example that springs to mind is Sky for people who have yet to complete CoP and the Crag-Tu'lia teleport quest.

In every case, perhaps with the exception where mobs are sound aggro only, it becomes extremely arduous for a mage to come and escort someone from the entrance of an area to camp. Particularly if this involves having to reapply sneak/invisible multiple times, and moreso if there aren't any places for the mage to stand long enough to reapply on both persons (and both is a loose term here, since it has happened that I've had to do it for more than 1 other person simultaneously). I have died on more than one occasion having to go back and escort, when I had already made it safely to camp prior to this. It isn't in any way reasonable to expect someone else to die, just to safely get you to camp.

The real "!" moment here is the fact that it seems the person in question was at the staging point area at the time of finding out they had forgotten their items. If you're being absolutely mercenary about it, I doubt it takes longer to warp through the portal and run to the auction house, than it would for a player to come back to escort someone, a course that requires them to sneak back themselves.

I've on occasion forgotten items to sneak/invisible myself, and in most cases I've felt like an idiot for doing it. Trying to excuse my way out of it for 200 ISP, and whining about it, in which time I could have gone and bought said items, while standing at the stage?

I am surprised any of this needs to be explained in any length. By the time you hit level 60 you should be well aware of all this, if not, then this probably isn't the game for you.

This happens too often.

I've had a personal vendetta on this topic for a long time as you'll find way too many people too lazy to support themselves. When I'm playing a mage job and heading out to an exp. camp, I will not cast sneak/invisible on anyone but myself just for the sole purpose of seeing who's going to bitch about it. I personally enjoy the part where they die on the way to camp, usually from sound aggro. Then I get to bitch about raising their sorry ass.

Props to you for refusing to help that tool.

This is the same guy who after being in a pt with once, started chatting to me like we were best friends.

...and telling me his gear plans for NIN/RNG as a 'sick ranged DD'er'

Rough deal falsey.

When I'm on mage I am typically very generous when it comes to sneaking/invising people. Its generally good karma. What I don't like is being at a camp and having to go back for a person or being expected to sneak/invis someone in a semi-dangerous environment~ but whether or not I would have went back would have been on how far I had to run back to help the guy out out. What annoys me is those who expect it and don't realize I am being curtious. You were both a lil' on the stubbern side, Ithings got a lil overly heated, and in the end you all wasted 200IP lol.

And that reminds me.. most of my meds are on my mule. lol

I'm not sure if you saw the part that said we ran to camp so we could secure it before another party got there in full and also the part when I had to escort 3 people to camp.

You know , I've pointed it out several times already on qcdn discussions, but this kind of bullshit always happen to me in mid level NA pts... There is always someone that forget something or slow everyone down.

It's either someone that is too cheap to buy oils, a dd that is to cheap to buy food ( yeah, at level 70...), someone that dies three times before reaching camp, a mage that is too cheap to buy echo drops on anticans/imps etc..etc...

Now, I'm gonna mention people that keep forgetting to bring meds at lv 75 events where it's absolutly vital. Einherjar and S?????? come to mind.

Simple solution: Bazaar oils and powders. For 10k each.

I do like this, but it still doesn't solve the problem of having to backtrack to pick people up, which I believe was some of the concern.

I wouldn't call a player with oils and powders "good", I'd call them average.

It's not the casting by magic aggro and sight aggro mobs that I find annoying, it's the fact that I'd need to babysit you to get to camp. Sure, I'll throw you a sneak and invis at the beginning, but after that, you're on your own.

I THOUGHT LOVED MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I think there's a general laziness that's been increasing very noticeably over time. Someone like that, who bitches that they have no gil for meds and whines about 200 ISP, used to drive me up a wall. Slow your roll to exp for the whole half hour it would take to farm up the gil for a stack of meds. It just comes down to having some consideration for other people (not to mention some respectability as someone who comes prepared), and sadly, that seems to be a dying concept in the game.

I would have cussed him out and picked him apart pixel by pixel when he said that it was my job to come back their and sneak and invisible him.

If I got spiteful enough I would have come to the staging point gate start casting sneak or invisible on him, and ran away to interrupt myself.

Also 200 ISP? ARE YOU SERIOUS! He would have gotten that back so quick.

I've gotten to the point that I tell my parties please make sure you have meds before they leave the area because I will not be casting a thing on them till we get to camp...

Unless they die or something....

Yes, I gathered that. I was just saying I don't like back-tracking even if I dont mind sneaking/invising people. So I can understand not wanting to go back if it were far. For those who go out of their way to just not sneak/invis people is a tad rude in my opinion, and hopefully they at least have an alchemist to profit from it.

I'm not even trying to excuse the guy for not having oils, but I will say there is a time where everyone forgets something. (But from sound of ppl in this thread, this guy typically doesnt have what he needs to go to party.)

I always try to keep a stack of oils/powders, acc food, and attack food at all times. Sometimes I forget, but I wouldn't throw a hissy fit about going back to my MH to get them or buy a stack of w/e from the AH. Getting mad over 200 ISP is so funny... I very rarely ask a mage for a sneak/invis anymore.
