Have the times really changed this much?

Having the right meds to get to a camp should be common sense, but then I see lowbies taking on Crawlers and Yags outside windy without antidotes, they die of poison, hp and go running back out without learning a thing. Maybe its just the level of preperation some go to that others dont.

I love it when people forget to bring Holy Waters for CoP 2-3 or Codex Farming. Thats some good entertainment. I don't pity people who forget items for events. Specially when they are told before hand to bring them or if they have done something multiple times... Some people don't learn like you said Jeska :o

Hey I used to set my hp to the outpost, drag mob there, die, revive with full hp and kill the mob. ... But going back to town is pretty dumb. I usually bring Selbina milk to offset the poison, it's not very strong.

That whole argument they had could have been spent getting meds, EXP and ISP

My policy has been and always will be that you get ONE freebie sneak/invis right at the zone entrance and then it's up to you to refresh them as they wear off. That's all I've ever expected from a mage and all I ever give in return.

You have one freebie healing staff waiting for you too :D

Whats 200 ISP anyway? Do a Beseiged and you get from 1-2000 ISP's I carry silent oils and prism powders on me even when I am a mage in case of emergancys. Traveling around Toau areas you need to have those on you, rather than rely on someone else.
easier said then done I never see one going on anymore least at time I can do one. That being said it no excuse why these 2 melee would not go back and get some sneak oils. Always been one of my pet peeves is having sneak invis multiple people through a dangerous zone. Now there are occasion I'd do it, mainly because I'm a nice person, but ya the way this guy acted i would not hve gone back either.

I remember the days when I was leveling BLM through Onzozo (This was before anyone knew what ToA meant). I had figured it was my part of my job being /whm to get a pt to camp safely, mainly because every xp pt I was in up to that point, 4 people would as me and the other mage for sneak and invis.

Then came the day I saw a thread similar to this one... Getting to a camp instantly became less painful from my point of view. I had no problem tossing a sneak/invis at the entrance of a zone (hey I'm all for saving meds and pinching every penny). Halfway through the zone someone would say sneak/invis is wearing, and I would kindly let them know to use one of the oils/powders they should have brought. After this, the likely reply from them would be something to the effect of "I don't have any". Being the great guy that I am, I would backtrack to their not-so-safe position where sneak/invis wore, recast, then inform them that they should make sure to carry oils/powders for their next xp pt.

I like to think that I did my part in preventing others from being the target of a similar flame. Sadly, Ferque was never in any of my xp parties when I was leveling a mage job...

I just saw this part:
"I'm sure someone wouldn't mind coming back for the tank right?"

...

I would've been tempted to boot him right there. There seems he's sufferring from slight delusions of grandeur. I imagine a lesson there would be to replace him with a DD/nin and just pull the dual blink tanking to show him how little the tank is needed, as well as how everyone shouldn't bend over backwards for the tank.

I remember reading allakazam's description of some stupid RoZ mission, where the only thing you had to do was cross Ifrit's Cauldron. The way people described it was "very hard mission" "it's a big challenge" "it's hell of a mission". Guess why ? Crossing <insert aggro zone> with 18 (lol) nubs unable to buy meds is indeed challenging..

The worst part about the whole thing was that he really EXPECTED you to go back for him, if i read this right, there was two of them that needed sneak/invis and the "Tank" only asked for it for himself and felt "Hey im the tank they BETTER come get me". Its cool if you forgot your meds from time to time, but whos fault is that? Go back get your meds and quit yer bitchin

lol ferque. "I'm sure you'll want to come back and sneak the tank!" so important :x

Everybody gets one, and only if they're around me when I arrive at the camp.

Ferque is the neediest player I've met in this game. I partied with him in Zitah with his SMN and he took to telling me how horrible his life is and how he was going to "off" himself. I'm not good with feigning compassion when it seems like people are just looking for attention but didn't want to sound like a heartless bitch. I told my friend in-game (who is also my RL friend) what Ferque was saying and he asked if I minded if he spoke to Ferque. I told him to go for it and take the kid off my hands. My friend talks to Ferque and I guess everything was better after that.

Not 2 days later Ferque sends me a tell demanding I get my friend on the game because he needs to talk. Mind you it's almost midnight on a weekday. I told him absolutely not and that he needed to find another counselor. He was NOT happy with this response and I had to ignore him to get him to leave me alone.

A few days after that he sends me another tell once again demanding that I get my friend online to talk to him because "he's in a bad place". I told him that I was not his secretary and that he really needed to find someone else to vent to. I had to ignore him to get him to leave me alone again. He then took to /slapping me the next few times I saw him.

Long story short, I'm not at all surprised that he was so demanding, irrational and childlike. He acts as if everyone should serve him in any way he feels necessary.

Sorry you had to deal with him Falsey. Good thing you didn't waste any extra time on him than you did.

But PLDs are such high demand in XP parties!

anymore with monomi ichi if anyone asks for a sneak and is /nin i would just completely ignore them or leave. I am not a babysitter.

I would have just lol'd tell them to get proper fucked and boot them from the party lol.

Nothing new, but that is one of the more douchebag cases i have seen. I always had Sneak and Invis shit even as mage.
