desperate times cause for desperate setups:wink:
 
There are lots of crazy set ups that go against the norm that really work.
Too many people are bound by that unwritten book that says if you play this job you can only do this. Its good to expand on what your job can do. I know there are limits. Trust me I know. But like Blue said i think it was her or someone else, desperate times and all. Like using a sam for a tank like most of the way to 50 and past. Is it difficult? Indeed it is. Do you have to pay more attention? Indeed you do. CAn it be done.. YEs ~! it can~!

So out of my ramblings I guess what I'm trying to say is, Just keep an open mind things will work, if you want them to :)

I got so sick of being asked to main heal on my bard, that I put "I am not a main healer" in my search comment. Some idiots think that anything with a little mp can be a healer.

No, I still got asked to main heal occasionally, which was usually when I disbanded and threw my flag back up.

Funny how people think it wrong for a smn put a comment for no healer, but when it a brd then it ok. If your fighting as weak as birds or imps then ya anything can be a healer.

Maybe it's because BRDs are more useful when they aren't main healing, whereas SMNs are.

A bard has a drastically lower MP pool than a summoner does, as well as their only healing abilities come from their sub job. Summoners' have the most MP of any job, and several blood pacts they can use to help support the party as a healer. Throw in the fact that I'm usually too busy buffing everyone and now pulling, you'd have to be brain dead to think I'd have enough time to be a useful healer.

It is stupid for a SMN to refuse to heal, because there's really nothing else that they're very good at. Their damage blood pacts are pathetic until the level 70 ones, and even then, they get beat by any half-decent DD just auto attacking. I was tanking a party on ninja one time against lesser colbiri(I was 58), with 2 smn's in the party. They claimed that "I'd see the power of SMN," and all they did was do damage pacts, because they got a rdm to heal us. I parsed the party, and I did more than both of their damage combined, without even blade: jin to help me out. So yeah, SMN's job is to sit back and heal, whereas bard's is not.
