Have you ever wondered..

I'm pretty sure the "no search function while you're dead" thing is because they hate us.

That was always the most annoying thing, because if you couldn't get ahold of someone to look for a raise for you, you were screwed.

Pro tip: You can rotate the camera while dead.

Pro tip: I can't for some stupid reason, Thanks.

I'm well aware this a problem that effects only me but there have been times when I've died beside obsticals (rocks etc) that wouldn't let me pan/see around them when my "rotate camera while dead" was working. A radar would be handy.

An invincibility script would be handy too. The whole point is to add immersion to the game, the little things like these add detail to the game, and while they may be annoying or a hassle, create a more whole experience for you.

When you die in reality you can't come back to life either. Welcome to video games, where if it was real life, the game would suck. Games are made to be fun and while adding aspects to a game world that relate to the real one can make you feel like you're more immersed in the game it shouldn't come at the cost of your enjoyment of said game. Nobody is suggesting that the game should be easier - challenge is fun but some stuff is just retarded. When you end up clenching your jaw because you're annoyed the game isn't fun. Shops being closed on certain days isn't fun, the Goblin being able to see you around the rock but you can't see him isn't fun, talking to an npc every single time you want to move your gear/menu to that city isn't fun - it's all just annoying.

Agreed.

While a certain level of real...ness (what?) is nice, I'd much rather have convenience. I don't give a crap if a bunch of fictional things get Firesday off every week.

I think that last post is going a tad far to prove your point Dedalius. SE obviously did design certain things to give the game a more realistic feel, but there is so much in this game that is not realistic, and yet somehow they chose insignificant things to "add depth" that only frustrate players.

There are some things I don't mind, like the fact that when you take an airship or boat to another location, you do actually have to wait an extended amount of time before you arrive (though sometimes when you're in a hurry it is bothersome) but things like having to speak with an NPC just to have your moogle come back to moghouse? And I think that if we have the ability to be able to speak in linkshell when we're dead, that we should have the option to search and find a person we might want to raise us instead of being only limited to the linkshell. We can send a random tell to friends hoping they're online, but that might not always work out.

I had a few other things that were just pointless to implement in the game for the sole purpose of making it more realistic, but I can't recall them off the top of my head :(

Ah, the shops having holidays... that's also another thing which is rather pointless unless they really feel that RMT and such could take over the market if they were crafting 24/7, but really 1hr RL (that the store is closed during the holiday) doesn't seem to really affect the economy at all, so it also seems kinda pointless to have.

Well being unable to talk to somone in ls or party chat while dead ould screw you like no tomorow. Being unable to talk to somone thats right next to you in /say doesnt. Does that possibly hold weight as a theory why that happens to ya? SE wanted to make death hurt but (by some miracle) didnt wanna make it impossible for you to get a raise.

Death has never stopped me from looking for a Raiser.

/l (question) Guys I'm dead, can you give me the names of jobs that can raise in (area I'm dead atm)? thx ^^
-
/l (answer/s) person a, person b, person c
-
/t person a <Raise><Can I have it?><Please>

That have always worked for me. But sometimes I've been lucky enough to be raised by a passing by mage faster.

men have no control over an erection. you see a hottie you got one. you see an ugly you dont. fact!

>.> <.< Zalt you are a desperate man if you get a boner from seeing a hottie. Seriously I spent most of HS just gawking at hot chicks, and maybe got a boner once or twice back in sophomore and freshman years. I guess I just learned to look with out getting aroused.

What's that you say? Women dont give you erections? Have you considered the possibility you are a homosexual? I'm sure miros will for you.

Having the option to come back to life, but not being able to contact someone in the area who can raise me without using party or ls chat does not really create a whole experience for me, personally >_>

No I love women I just learned to control it as best I can. If I got one I would normally up tuck it.

Thought of another, which was actually mentioned a while ago. In order to warp to Whitegate from Sandy/Windy/Bastok, you need to actually physically trade the NPC 300gil, instead of him just asking if you want to pay 300gil, and you saying yes.

The chocobo NPCs do this, yet the NPCs that can take you to whitegate don't. Kinda pointless, I bet they didn't even really give that too much thought when they programmed/designed those NPCs. -_-

Personally I find it faster to trade an NPC some gil than to talk to them, wait for the box to pop, and then choose to pay ... but I'm weird like that.

As for the camera spinning while dead, just like when being alive, you can be in places where the camera gets stuck and you more or less have to move yourself in order to spin it properly. (And when dead, you can't do so, so you're screwed.) However, in many cases you can get around "sticking points" by moving the camera up or down, or trying to rotate it in the opposite direction.

(Oh and as an fyi to anyone who doesn't know how to rotate the camera while dead or while some other screen or something is up that occupies normal arrow key usage: shift + arrow keys. You can also move your mouse to the edge of the screen if you prefer, but shift + arrow keys offers finer control.)

I do agree with most of the stuff in this topic, it's really just needless - it's a bit of an interesting touch the first time you encounter it, but it's little more than a tiresome obnoxiousness after playing for years:

Not being able to search while dead.

Having to talk to an NPC for rent-a-room/mog house.

Being able to enter your mog house without your moogle there but having to zone out and talk to said NPC to get the moogle there so the mog house is useful for anything.

How your moogle can't warp to your mog house to get items out of furniture storage, but is quite capable of warping to Whitegate for a mog locker or warping to your mog house to check your plants.

Taru speech impediments.
