For a long time i have had a love hate relationship with Glenn Beck because he is a lot of the things i hate about the republican party but at the same time he is one of the few voices that is getting the issues that i care about into the forefront. However today i stumbled across this recording which i am told was from his radio show sometime this week but i missed it. He actually apologizes to libertarians and Ron Paul for the way that he treated him during the 08 campaign and states that his ideas may not have been crackpot like he originally stated.

It is true that his shows are getting further and further towards libertarian and his ratings are continuing to climb... I think he has the second highest rated "news" show on television atm and he is in one of the worst possible time slots.

Beyond that what this interview was precursing was the great news that has been happening in the last two weeks where John Stossel (my favorite media person) has left ABC and joined Fox Business where he will have his own show. Beyond that they also have picked up Cody Willard, Judge Andrew Napolitano, and Tucker Carlson in the last year. With this all in mind i cannot think of an overly Neo-Conservative person they have picked up in that same time period other than Huckabee.

So my question is with Beck apologizing to Libertarians, tons of outspoken libertarians getting their hired to the network, and Fox's ratings improving over the same time period is this the beginning of a major paradigm shift (for the better) at Fox?

Yeah he pissed me off with that, he's no libertarian.

Calling Ron Paul and his supporters terrorists. Hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I do have a man crush on John Stossel though:

Thats somewhat my point though Cort... he has for the first time acknowledged and apologized for his 2007ish comments.

Yeah. And? He still pissed me off with that comment.

The thing I like most about Beck is that he's not a 'party line' sort of guy. He takes the time to do his own research and if he finds what he thinks is bullshit, he calls it where is sees it, including on himself. There has been more than one time now where he has re-examined something and come to a different conclusion than what he had the first time.

Instead of trying to cover it up, or act like it never happened, he admits when he's wrong, explains his current line of thinking, and moves on.

I personally like the guy... it also helps that I find him hilarious. I also respect that he went from being a raging alcoholic to cleaning himself up and creating the career that he has. Anyone who can climb that kind of mountain deserves a few points in my book.

lol, hes a freaking personality who plays off of peoples fears and wonders out loud about random shit, like how hes "afraid that Obama hates White People." Hes not saying Obama does hate white people...just that hes afraid of it. The guy is a god damn joke, hes almost as bad as Rush Limbaugh. Neither of which even came close to graduating college. They are radio personalities, nothing more.

I agree with him every once in a while but he annoys me badly when I watch his show

I guess you have to be like that to get a unliked message out there, but it doesn't change my perspective; that he's really annoying.

I grew up in hawaii....same state as Obama. They teach you in public school that everything is all the white mans fault. Check out their hawaiian studies sometime. They have for the past few generations been teaching hate of people who are white.

Mind you Glenn beck creeps me out. Yet there are somethings he asks which you really should stop and think about. A good one is these czars. So many of them on youtube preaching hate of...white people. Hate hate hate....This was not the dream of MLKJ. Funny is people are so busy saying he is black that they fail to remember he has more white blood in him than african. Daddy was african/arab. Should these people who so obviously hate the common US citizen be in such places near the president. Worse yet is he chose them. I watch both CNN and fox. CNN makes it out like the common citizen is about to riot and burn the streets down. So you have this heay handed approach on both sides. Listen to the questions and look up things for yourself. Got to love having the freedom to do that.

I'm having trouble understanding a portion of your post. Seriously, I don't understand what you mean by:

...Daddy was african/arab. Should these people who so obviously hate the common US citizen be in such places near the president.

What people? Africans? Arabs?

Worse yet is he chose them.
Who is "he?" Who is "them?"

Before you start going oh no she is a racist....I am of very mixed ancestry. I believe people should be judged on their actions, not how much sun their skin can absorb.

Daddy was african/arab.
Should these people who so obviously hate the common US citizen be in such places near the president. Worse yet is he chose them.

HIs father was an african/arab ancestry. Not full blooded african. thus is dominate % is white. Sorry I should have seperated the paragraph.

The people are the czars. Look up some the people he placed near him in these positons. These are his hand picked elite advisors. His green Czar was shown on multiple youtube videos preaching how they should take the mony from the whiteman and give it to the black. There are a number of videos that show his hatred of the common white american. Yet this man and a number of others were not only allowed near our president, but allowed in a place of power over things that will have a sweeping effect on policy that will for better or worse effect us. ATM there is a bill being put forth that for the first time ever would require these czars to account for actions before congress. Basically these positions of czars was a way to get around having to go through congress.

Sorry if I was not clear in the prior post.

Since this is a thread about Beck's apology to Libertarians, I'll refrain from commenting on czars and just say thank you for your response and clearing that up for me.

It is nice that some new/tv people are willing to admit when they are wrong. Maybe if more did people would be more open to both sides of each debate.

Know what I love? When The Daily Show (or Colbert Report, or both) did a "Glenn Beck" from CNN to Glenn Beck of Fox News and jokingly (of course) showing how he changed so amazingly in less than a year :P
