HELP!.... I am Locked up... they won't let me out.

Friend of mine had a screenshot of a pair of taru bazaars sitting in sandy named Gofu and Ckyourself  They weren't there long.

So while Coxxnballz may be bad, it really isn't the worst. Should've thought twice before using it, though.

Lol GMS are so stupid sometimes. They can enforce your mule having a "bad" name...and yet these MPKers and gilsellers.....

Yes, because if your mule has a bad name, they can SEE it and it is a proven thing. -.-

True, however when there are 18+ dead bodies lying in Garbage Shitadel and the GM says "I'm sorry i need proof of the MPK" kinda makes you realize how pointless GMs are most of the time.

Also dont forget often, if not all, times your name isnt called on by a GM unless someone ELSE says "OMFG HES/SHES SO OFFENSIVE HE/SHE BREAKS THE TOS GM DO SOMETHING NOW!"

Put it in a RL perspective. Your car gets rear-ended by a classic Hummer, it was his fault. Your entire tail light and fixture has to be replaced but his vehicle sustains no damage. The guy won't fess up that it was his fault, and you get into a heated non-violent debate. After some time he leaves, and you're slightly fucked.

A cop drives by and sees you (/comfort)ing your car, so he comes over to see what's up and eat your donuts. You explain the situation.

You: He hit my car.
Cop: I'm sorry, I need proof.

Although RL cops will be a little more aggressive with the investigation, you can still see the gyst. For a GM to nail some folks for harassment / making your playtime unenjoyable, they need proof to put on the file. They can check your logs and see that MPKGod1 warped and then your entire alliance just coincidentally dropped dead, but they can't make a judgement on that - MPKGod1 might've been some random dude exping over in the corner there and had to Warp home, for all the GM knows.

I can't understand why some people (not pointing at you specifically Phoku, just a trend I've noticed) expect the GMs to be these all-knowing, all-seeing, supernatural omniscient gods. They can only be in so many places doing so many things at any given point, just like RL officers. The system has flaws but it's what we're given, so learn to work within it's parameters and make sure you can prove the situation when it happens.

Anus GMs will also always exist, you just have to be extra-proving with them. They are either:
1. crotchety old men
2. regular people who are sick of l337 h4x0r know-it-all 13-year-old fuckheads
3. elitests who like to exercise their limited power over you at any given chance

Once you figure out which one they are, I would imagine interacting with them becomes a lot easier. I mean christ, they may be dickheads at times but they're still human, are they not? It's usually not that difficult to overcome the ego-boost of not having to deal with someone face-to-face, and once that boost is gone you're talking to a human.

I also like to think of FFXI's situation like this:

The GMs always go by an "if we didn't see it happen, it probably didn't" attitude when it comes to MPK and botting and gilselling et al., which is irritating because those people usually get away with what they're doing without any issues at all.

On the other hand, some games (notably Blizzard games - Diablo II comes to mind as a big example of this), the opposite stance is taken - "if we so much as suspect you of cheating, your character is gone." Imagine if that was the case in FFXI - every single person accused of selling gil, of botting, or of MPK, deleted and forced to restart, or even possibly having their account suspended, their registration codes disabled, even their credit card number banned from the servers.

In all honesty, I strongly prefer option A. Especially in a time-eating game like FFXI.

My only argument with a lot of what I hear of the GM's - is that if these interactions happened face to face - the company SHOULD/WOULD be a little concerned with there level of customer service.

RL example: You are a stupid Teenager that just tried pot. You walk up to the pharmacy counter and ask to talk to the pharmacist. A pharmacist is paid to smile pretty, help customers, and verify correct medications are dispensed. Believe me, I worked in a pharmacy for 2.5 years and have heard it all (as a tech). You have a job interview and so you ask the pharmacist if there is anything you can do - drug test tomorrow... omg lolz111... you just realized you fucked yourself and now don't want to deal with the repercussions.

Well instead of informing you in a kind way that there is nothing you can do... the pharmacist says: "Sir, I think you have fucked yourself! Even if there was something to help you out - I wouldn't inform you b/c you shouldn't smoke pot in the first place."

I don't believe that pharmacist would work for the company much longer. (And yes, they will fire a pharmacist!) I've seen it happen over something as stupid as eating a candy bar before paying - lol.

It seems these GM's can do just about anything they want - tossing the whole we-are-here-to-enhance-the-gaming-system and to prevent abuses of it - out the window. FFXI customer service - which is really all GM's are - is so disgusting it is beyond words. There have been multiple occasions that I've wanted to quit just because it seems GM's do not in fact care, and that SE sanctions this behavior by not correcting it.

*btw* - this was not to flame pot smokers, only to make a point. please do not call me on it.

Surprisingly i prefer option B. Well not in its entirety....If someone is reported on by say 30+ people that he/she sells gil, SE could go in and have a GM view the money tranfers going on with said person, watch their habits, hunting, farming, etc. Once it is confirmed, blam ban the fool. If they follow them and nothing turns up, hey hes a real player, no need to bug him. Yes i know its time consuming, but most of the time people wont get reported as being sellers by 30+ people if they really arent.

I've got a screenshot of 30 people saying Phoku is a gilseller . . . let's see . . . how do I post this . . . :o

lol i was in jail once. when i zoned there, i meeted a tarutaru named "Fuckme" lmao he was with me in jail. He /wave me and i /wave him back then he disappeared ; ;

Maos Dabious isn't so bad, although I very mad at myself for not remembering the name of GM jail >.<
