I've only had one encounter with him, but ya, he was an ass to me too.

Yes, because if your mule has a bad name, they can SEE it and it is a proven thing. -.-
Put it in a RL perspective. Your car gets rear-ended by a classic Hummer, it was his fault. Your entire tail light and fixture has to be replaced but his vehicle sustains no damage. The guy won't fess up that it was his fault, and you get into a heated non-violent debate. After some time he leaves, and you're slightly fucked.Phoku said:True, however when there are 18+ dead bodies lying in Garbage Shitadel and the GM says "I'm sorry i need proof of the MPK" kinda makes you realize how pointless GMs are most of the time.
Tagrineth said:I also like to think of FFXI's situation like this:
The GMs always go by an "if we didn't see it happen, it probably didn't" attitude when it comes to MPK and botting and gilselling et al., which is irritating because those people usually get away with what they're doing without any issues at all.
On the other hand, some games (notably Blizzard games - Diablo II comes to mind as a big example of this), the opposite stance is taken - "if we so much as suspect you of cheating, your character is gone." Imagine if that was the case in FFXI - every single person accused of selling gil, of botting, or of MPK, deleted and forced to restart, or even possibly having their account suspended, their registration codes disabled, even their credit card number banned from the servers.
In all honesty, I strongly prefer option A. Especially in a time-eating game like FFXI.
