My coz... turning 17 next week is getting a Wii for his bday and I want to get him a game. He likes RPG games and 3-d action games if they have a good plot. Any suggestions?

Not an Action game, but using the remote/nunchuk to operate is hella fun:

OMG that's perfect, I know that he has liked other legend of zelda games, I've never played them, but reading reviews, it sounds like a must-have. Thanks Tristam!

Zelda is the ticket ^^

Am I the only person that's going to say Madden or The BIGS? Both very fun sports games. Madden 2008 just came out.

Super Paper Mario I enjoyed it. >.> <.<

Fuck that. You want to have a ball? You wanna REALLY let your cousin have a good time? Seriously. Get this game:

I promise you. You won't be disappointed.

Get him Wii Play, Free controller = Ace, and it helps get used to the controler, I found Wii Play helped the transition more than Sports.

I have to agree with this.

Plus, I found that I like zelda better when I played it with a wavebird as opposed to the nunchuck and wiimote. I'm pretty sure i'm in the minority on that one though.

Now you guys have lost me. I just know nothing about Wii's so I don't understand the difference but it sounds like you are talking about different controllers. Does he need a controller that doesn't come standard?

Wii Play comes with a free SECOND controller. And a ton of two player fun games!

Trippy mentioned the Wavebird which is the wireless Gamecube controller as Twilight Princess had a gamecube version as well as a Wii version.

Before you go out and pick up Zelda you might want to check with the people buying him the Wii. There is a great deal of people out there who own the Wii solely for this game so they might have snagged it for him. If he really is an avid RPG fan, chances are he's brought this up to the people getting him the Wii. As far as extra controllers go, I'd let him pick those up with his birthday money or wait for him to make mention of wanting one. Most games allow you to share the controller with another person. I know if I was receiving gifts I'd much rather add another game to my library than have an extra controller especially if I'm just getting a console.

If it turns out they are getting him Zelda, I'd suggest Super Paper Mario or Alien Syndrome.

I second Alien Syndrome being utter crap.

Metroid Prime 3. That is all.
