TV Heroes Season 3!

I thought the scene between Sylar and daddy was sufficient.

It's not so much that the scene was ungodly terrible, but it serves as another failure of the writers of Sylar. Season 1, he was the boogeyman. A lone wolf, and a dangerous one, who acted for his own reasons, and with his own power. But pretty much at every point since then, he's been completely played by nearly everyone. They turned him from a lone wolf into a leashed puppy.

And no I take it back. That scene was friggin awful. Terribly anticlimactic and a stupid way to throw the story. Take the entire season to develop cliched daddy issues, and travel across the country (or a large distance at least) to kill him, have him beaten, but not kill him? If nothing else, there's someone else like him running around, and he should want to remove that. And he'll kill a defenseless, vulnerable Elle, but daddy's off limits? Very un-Sylar.

I think not killing him was in Sylar's mind a worse punishment than killing him. Sylar doesn't kill for no reason, and he didn't have anything he wanted. He knew his father was miserable and dying a slow, miserable death. He wanted him to die slowly, painfully, and insignificantly.

I thought the scene between Sylar and daddy was sufficient. Some may have wanted a knock-down, drag-out powers battle, but they might be saving him to resurface later and I thought it was pretty obvious that Sylar had daddy HEAVILY outclassed at this junction. I am looking forward to seeing what happens between him and Danko next episode (in 2 weeks, dammit!)

Speaking of Danko, how great was Angela Petrelli's conversation with him? She was so amusing this episode.

I don't like the whole Parkman, Jr. direction the Hiro/Ando story is headed. I'm really not wanting to see a bunch of super baby crap.
Angela Petrelli's scene with him was my favorite part of the whole episode. She isn't one of my favorite characters, but I friggin loved her last night.

Daddy wasn't off limits at all. Basically this:
I think not killing him was in Sylar's mind a worse punishment than killing him. Sylar doesn't kill for no reason, and he didn't have anything he wanted. He knew his father was miserable and dying a slow, miserable death. He wanted him to die slowly, painfully, and insignificantly.

Except that Sylar kills for the fun of it. What about the Federal Agents who were chasing him? They never needed to die. In fact, with Sylar's abilities that he's acquired over time, he doesn't need to kill anyone (has never needed to in the time that we've seen him) that doesn't have abilities. Yet he has. And hasn't flinched at it either.

Sylar also has a vested interest in killing him. Not only for revenge, or psychological reasons (to keep him 'special and unique', but so that no prey, no matter how weak, doesn't go to his father instead of him, and it also limits the power being passed on. Even if he was looking to kill him slowly and wanted him to die friendless and alone, he would've engineered that. Sylar's not a dope.

The only reason to not have Sylar kill his father is to lead up to some sort of showdown between them. Which would be incredibly lame. If they were going to fight, why didn't the fight happen when they first encountered each other, instead of drawing it out like some sort of Shounen Jump show? And son vs. father? Oh please.

I disagree. His father asked that Sylar kill him when he realized he couldn't have the healing ability. Sylar denied that request in order to be cruel. That's what I got out of it anyway.

Miss you, btw, you fucker. =P

Those agents were coming after him. I can't think of anyone he's killed without a motive. It's always either been in defense, or to get something. You don't see him sneaking around just killing people. If others with powers suddenly disappears, I doubt he'd be killing anymore.

I didn't think that was Parkman's ex-wife? She seemed a lot thinner, and a lot younger if so.

Yeah she was there holding a baby, it was definintely her. She could be thinner, its been a while since we seen her

Yeah we've never seen Sylar just go out and kill, but we've also never seen him go out of his way to not kill. If the opportunity is there, he tends to take it.

I disagree. His father asked that Sylar kill him when he realized he couldn't have the healing ability. Sylar denied that request in order to be cruel. That's what I got out of it anyway.

Eh, maybe. What really would have been cruel was to have brought Claire before him, and then kill her permanently. But I guess he's got priorities.
And the old guy seemed rather spry when he thought he could get that healing power. Still think it's gonna play out like some sort of DBZ or Naruto story arc though.

And yeah. Not going back to FFXI. But hey, we'll always have QCDN =P

What about microwave boy? He even went the extra mile and saved him before. Or even Claire? It wasn't entirely neccesary to put her scalp back on, but he did it anyway.

That wasn't her ex wife, that was a baby sitter her ex wife had hired. Why else would she say "I quit, and it takes the service two hours to find a replacement?!"

Unless you mean like a preview or something.

Eh, what? Parkman's ex-wife was not in the last episode at all. There was a babysitter from some babysitting service that quit the service.. but that's it.

That being said, I do remember hearing somewhere once that the ex-wife character was coming back this season.

If you meant she was on the preview for the next episode or something.. well.. I don't remember seeing her as the previews are really quick.

they are keeping Sylars dad alive for a reason maybe we'll see next monday and Sylar doesnt need to kill ppl to get their power. Remember when he got the thunder girl's power w/o killing her bc he wanted her to think he was good.

Im not talking about her, during the previews it showed Parkman's ex wife in it, for next episode..

It isn't that he wanted her to think he was good. He genuinely was good at that point in time, and remained "good" for a while until he found out he was being lied too the whole time. Then he went back to the good old Sylar we all know and have a love/hate relationship with. He actually loved her, which is what was so freaking wrong with the way he just cast her aside when it was all done. I was never an Elle fan, but I think they could have done something better to get rid of her. Hell, even if they had HRG shoot her, that would have been better.

Sylar learned her power without killing her, yeah. He gained her power without relying on his hunger to kill for power, but in the end, that hunger is just too strong. I'm fairly certain we won't ever see him not kill to get a power ever again, and that's A-OK with me.

And I also don't think they're keeping his father alive for any special reason. His father has cancer, he's not going anywhere. He just sat back down like a sad old man, and he's likely going to waste away. Think about it. If he had the ability to fight Sylar he would have done so as soon as Sylar was pulling the arrows from his chest. He had plenty of time to come up with something, to do something. But he didn't. He doesn't stand a chance against Sylar and I'm pretty certain that's probably the last we've seen of him.

Lots of characters have made appearances only to disappear and not be seen again. Micah's Grandmother for example, hell even Micah for that matter. Then there's Muscle Mimic girl, and Maya. Oh yeah, Blue flame redneck (who would be Claire's real uncle, I don't remember if he died though or what happened to him but I thought he was alive last I saw him). We'll likely not see Alex or Doyle again, not to mention the other young man who could fly. But I'm sure you get my point by now. I could probably name a few more.

they showed him on the preview for next time tho... hhmmm

Was she only alive in there? I imagined she stayed alive through all of the...cyberspace, um...stuff! lol

Yes before her body died she went into cyberspace. She only existed there. When destroyed the main frame the way they wrote it was she was dead for good now.

I think Sylar is going to regret not killing his father. I do think his father is still a force to be feared. This may be what really made Sylar good in the future knowing something out there is as bad or far worse then him.

I really like bad Sylar more though so I hope he doesn't go good.

Does anyone think there gonna cancel this show soon! You have hayden bitching that she doesn't wanna be on set with milo (sp) so they cant shoot scenes together. Personally the writing seems to be getting worse. They could just replace claire but that woul dbe to easy!

Ehhh they could still cancel it especially if they fire the new producers for making pointless and boring episodes or decide to can claire.

Well I hope the show keeps on trucking, I think they're heading in a better direction than 'Villans' was leading things. I am still enjoying this show. I like the characters and while it hasn't been as good as season 1 for a while now, I still think it's a good show.
