TV Heroes Season 3!

I still have my theory that Arthur don't actually remove the power in his victim. I'm thinking he renders them inactive, and they need to awaken them again. Which is what I'm thinking Peter will do with his power. Leading to yet another power-hunt.

Every season they think of one reason or another to make Peter weak again. I'm surprised they haven't done that to Sylar this season.

Maybe that could happen with the next eclipse?

Spoiler:
He won't take Sylar's power. They made it painfully obvious. This is my prediction on how the story will play out/what we will find out.

1) Angela had a dream predicting Arthur would come back from the start
2) Angela knew Arthur would try and trick Sylar into joining his side.
3) Angela fed Sylar the power to see a person's entire history(as we saw before) so that Sylar would be able to tell Arthur was lieing.
4) There will be a couple shows that completely leave the story line to show the story of the new hero.
5) Sylar will in the end somehow kill Arthur, or more likely trap Arthur away since he now has the ability to heal. Possibly killing him by taking his power as his own.
6) When Arthur's gone everyone's powers will be returned to them (unless they were killed in the process)

I didn't say he would take them :p I said I was surprised they didn't somehow nerf him :p

I see what you're saying, however I think they are trying to make Sylar the main hero in this season, they made Hiro useless, Peter's useless, Mohinder is working for Arthur, and Beckman is being blindly led as a puppet to reveal those that would stand up against Arthur.

lol When the African dude found him and said "Parkman", my boyfriend thought he was saying "Fatman".

Still pissed he was beheaded though ';,,;' Also kinda ticked that Ando is going to turn evil. Then again, they keep flip flopping on who is evil and who is good.

Hiro would never turn evil. He'd only pretend to hide his true motives. Though I'm more worried about what's going to happen next to him.

My favorite part of the past episode was how they originally trapped arthur...I've thought the Hatian was the key from the beginning. Bring in Haitian, trap whoever you need.

Season 1...why didn't they just bring the Hatian to stop Sylar?
Season 2...why didn't they bring the Hatian to stop Adam?
Season 3...finally in the past episode Arthur is stopped by his wife having the hatian neutralize Arthur's powers...why wouldn't this work again?

How Would You Fix Heroes?

Not sure how many of you caught this article, but I found myself agreeing with a lot of what it says.

PROBLEM: With so much time travel, who can keep track of all the alternate realities?
SOLUTION: Set the Heroes in time and have them work toward a particular goal with a specific deadline.

Once you open a show to time travel, the mind goes a-reelin' about when exactly the world is supposed to end. Show us only one possible future and scenario that the Heroes have to band together (see below) to avoid.

I have become kind of dissapointed how the show focuses to intently on time travel. It seems there can't be a sesason that doesn't revolve around someone seeing something in the future that they have to work to fix. I feel most of the episodes are either glimpses of the future or flashbacks to the past. Why can't the show focus on the present already?

PROBLEM: There are too many Heroes.
SOLUTION: Kill or otherwise get rid of a bunch of them.

Feel free to play God in the comments section below, but I wouldn't miss Parkman, Maya, Mohinder, most of the Bennetts (save Claire and HRG). I could also do without many of the bad guys, and, it pains me to say, Hiro and Ando. There are still interesting stories to be told about Elle, Sylar, Angela and Arthur Petrelli (imagine that Thanksgiving dinner!), and Adam Monroe (R.I.P.). But there's never enough to time to do them justice.

I don't like being jerked back and forth. Too many stories are told and then never finished. Remember Copycat from last season? What happened to her again? I was actually becoming invested in her story. Unfortunately, no closure was provided for her. It's like they completely pulled the plug on her. Stop overextending yourself and devoting episode time to telling half stories.

PROBLEM: The Heroes are kind of self-involved.
SOLUTION: Have them "rescue kittens from trees" every now and then.

The Heroes need to start saving people other than each other. Their inner torment initially electrified the show, but now it's time for them to get over themselves and start using their abilities to help others. In the first season, a small-scale task (save the cheerleader) accomplished a large-scale goal (save the world). The second season's Shanti virus threatened to wipe out humanity, sure, but there was no more human-scaled story. Whether we faced Armageddon came down to Peter's reflexes. (We understand the writers' strike derailed what was probably going to be a richer storyline.)

Already in Season 3, we've seen at least five possible alternate futures, two of an apocalyptic nature. I'm not suggesting that Heroes become a contained episodic procedural, a la Fringe, but what if Claire used her powers to help a cheerleading coach escape a battering spouse? It's clear she wants some action, but what she really needs is practice to understand how and why her power works. Otherwise, the show is absurdly abstract.

PROBLEM: The line between good and evil is too blurred.
SOLUTION: Outline the characters' motivations more clearly.

While gray moral areas are rich with dramatic possibility, they also leave the show vulnerable to obfuscation. Can you really say for sure who the good guys are right now? The Company's Angela Petrelli appears to have the greater good in mind, but she uses perverse methods to achieve it. Similarly, Linderman, Arthur Petrelli & Co. have their own plans for... what, exactly? In this day and age, "world domination" as a raison d'etre is a cop-out.

I actually like seeing people change or finding out there is more to someone's actions that originally met the eye. I originally thought Angela was more of an Arthur character, but it was cool to find out that she is actually a good person. Yes, Heroes is changing a lot of people's personalities (Claire, Mohinder, etc . . .), but I don't think that's a bad thing.

PROBLEM: The Heroes have no lives.
SOLUTION: Make them go into hiding again and live "real" lives.

Season 3 has consisted of a series of fool's errands. Hiro tries to infiltrate the bad guys, but why is unclear. Claire decides to go rogue and round up the Level 5 bad guys. Nathan mostly mopes and takes the vague advice of a spectral Linderman, as if he's a trusted advisor. The Heroes need to re-enter "real" life, with jobs, spouses, and mortgages. Remember when Peter was a nurse? It added a certain human dimension to his character that no number of scars or overwrought parental confrontations can.

I don't think they should go into hiding again. Nothing is more upseting than when a series takes two steps back. They are definatly going in the right direction by having them get closer and closer to a world where everyone has powers.

PROBLEM: The Heroes work at cross-purposes.
SOLUTION: Give them a clearinghouse, an HQ where they can exchange information.

The show is overstuffed with plotlines, many of which overlap. Daphne's business-card-distribution operation is a good example. Imagine if all the Heroes met periodically to put their heads together. The Season 1 finale brilliantly showed how exciting the show can be when the kids combine their efforts. It would still allow for the odd plot detour that could showcase each of the actors, but would bring a cohesion and logic to the show's many plotlines.

What do you guys think? Is Heroes fixable?

Season 3...finally in the past episode Arthur is stopped by his wife having the hatian neutralize Arthur's powers...why wouldn't this work again?

Season 1 . . . They originally did use the Hatian to stop Sylar. They captured him initially in Texas using the Hatian and the girl with the power of persuassion (Her power was so cool. I liked how her voice changed when she was using her power :( I miss her). But remember, the power of persuassion didn't work on Sylar when she tried to have him kill himself? I think Sylar has a way of understanding people's powers and then they don't affect him anymore?

Season 2 . . . They didn't need the Hatian to stop Adam. Apparently all you needed to do to kill Adam was shoot his head off. That was the biggest plot hole ever when they announced that it was possible to kill a "Regenerator" by shooting them in the head. HRG was shot in the head and he was brought back by Claire's blood. But then they fixed that by saying Claire's regeneration was "better" and she is "special". But what about that huge explosion in the past where Hiro and Adam were fighting. I'm pretty sure that would have caused massive damage to his head and killed him.

Season 3 . . . It would be too easy?

Heoeres is too complicated and has too many plot holes. Don't try to reason it out or you will go crazy lol.

I don't think so. That would make him practically impervious. Maybe on a base level his power protects him from something like a suggestive power while his own is activating.

Decapitation is correct. Noah was never decapitated. There is also a place in the head where their regeneration is inactive, as per Claire and Peter in the first season.

Season 3 . . . It would be too easy?
Being poisoned and put into a "coma", Arthur probably didn't have much else to think about. I doubt he'd let himself be caught by surprise again, or have some sort of countermeasure in place. Besides, the Hatian doesn't give any sort of protection for himself. Knock him out, shoot him, whatever, and he's out of the picture. And he couldn't use his power, because to protect him, other people would have to use theirs. Unless he can pick and choose, of course. We don't know a lot about the Hatian's power remember.

As for the article, the only point I agree at all with is the too many heroes part. Mainly just for Copycat girl. The others are/were necessary for each important individual's story to come together.
Time travel is a personal demon for Hiro. And it was for Isaac, although the African painter (forget his name) seems to have dealt with it in his own way. But it's a great way of exposing some plot details and foreshadowing, because the future is just that, the future. And you can't tell me you wouldn't try and figure out what to do in the present by looking at the future if you had that ability. It's something everyone could relate to, because everyone would do it.

The heroes can't use their abilities to help others, because that would set a giant flaming beacon to the Company(ies?) to come and get them. They'd have to deal with those organizations in some capacity to do something like that. But they've been a little busy saving the world and their own lives to do something to that end.

Of course the heroes are "self-involved". If I had that kind of power, I would be too. Even if they did have normal lives, it would make for terrible TV for a show called Heroes. The same person who wrote that article would be complaining about the lack of power usage and focus.

The heroes aren't supposed to work together, nor are good and evil supposed to be clearly defined. That's the entire point of this season in a way. To show that good and evil are two sides of the same coin, and it's not necessarily that these are the good guys, and these are the bad guys, because it's all perspective. And the means in which in which they accomplish their goals.

If all the heroes worked together, it'd turn into an X-Men kinda thing, which Heroes isn't meant to be.

Heoeres is too complicated and has too many plot holes. Don't try to reason it out or you will go crazy lol.

Yea, that's why I love it...

Time to get my couch-groove ready for tonight.

; ; fuck me, I totally got into playing a video game and completely forgot it was monday until I saw this thread got bumped. >< I missed the first 45 mins of the damn show.. gah, gonna have to watch it online. >< What was the title of tonights episode anyway?

This episode ruled, absolutely ruled.

Nikki sure did take a sharp turn lol.

A few episodes ago, "O my gosh I killed someone. I'm so stricken with guilt that I'm gonna kill myself. I'm so not a bad person. I hate these disgusting horrible powers. I can't believe I was made in a lab."

This episode, "I kinda like my powers Arthur. Let's team up and ruin the world for everyone!"

Spoiler:
That's actually kind of interesting. I never considered Tracy having a split personality kinda deal. If she does, it's so far not been seen as fully as Nikki's was, but that would be sneaky to plant a more agreeable personality into the triplets as well as powers. Or perhaps it's a a side effect.
