Hi.

The leaving the game process became official today, when I cancelled my mule Breakingwind. Next on the chopping block is Jedaiyen, she has about 20 more items to AH and then she's gone.

It's kinda hard to leave at this point, because I really do enjoy Salvage. Especially tempting is the concept that Osse could have been first on our server (far as I know) with the Skadi body. But I had to be honest with myself: what on earth am I actually going to do once I'm done in Salvage? Right now pretty much everything I do in-game revolves around Salvage. I've been meriting in Campaign for spells to use in Salvage. Dynamis I go to with the hopes of Wootz drops. Assault I do primarily for the points to use in Salvage (I'd decided long ago I would pass on Divisor for my bst, too bad it never dropped). Corsair is the only thing that isn't directly related to Salvage, but I know that by the time I hit 75 COR I'd probably be bored to tears with it. The prospect of furthering that job in pickup parties, even with Osse's BRD, isn't particularly appealing. I'd hoped to do more LS stuff with levelling COR, but not many people are interested in a mid-40's static that only goes once a week.

I'm going to keep attending Salvage and running tabs on the drops until the very end. Before I leave I'll be sure to give copies of my spreadsheet to anyone in TWSS who wants one. I hate to leave you guys with two empty slots on the roster, but with how awesome you guys have been going I don't doubt that there would be high demand to fill those 2 empty slots.

I'm not going to delete either Fellina or Naviculae. If someone wanted to take them over for me at the end of April, they'd be more than welcome to. Otherwise I'll just cancel the content IDs. There's always that miniscule chance that down the road we may come back, but at this point I really don't know.

I'm not really sure where I lost my interest in FFXI, but I know it's been declining for a long time. The other day I happened to be going through my screenshots. I noticed that the longer I'd been playing, the fewer screenshots I was taking. Early on I had pictures of everything and anything, because I wanted to keep those memories. Now, I don't screenshot anything unless I know I'm going to post it (when Nav got bone sign was my first screenshot in almost a year). I'm not really sure when or why the game started to lose interest for me, but I'm finally admitting it now.

I'm going to at least try WoW for a bit. I followed Rappa into AG and never regretted it, so I can follow him into WoW as well. I don't know if another MMO will ever hold my interest as long as FFXI did, but I'll at least play it while it does. ;) I already know my first character is going to be a blood elf mage on Bloodscalp named Jedaiyen. Next time I see Carl's friend Jeff on AIM I'll ask him if he wants to start a new character there as well, otherwise I'll have to split some time on Malfurion too.

It's kinda funny to think back on this. The FN crew was actually highly recruited, much moreso than I was expecting when we left TheSentinels. I didn't even know Audino at the time but after I talked to him a bit I knew that AG was the way to go. There were several linkshells asking about us, including some bigger ones at the time like NAFireBlade, but we definitely made the right choice with AG.

If you and Carl make bloodscalp chars, I might revive <FuzzyNapalm> with one of my alts so we all have a guild to live in. I'm pretty sure Katherine would move her alt in there too (I can use puppy dog eyes if I have to!), then we can bug Willian into making a bloodscalp char too. Malika plays on bloodscalp so I'd invite her in too and her nub bf if he ever starts playing, lol. Damita's looking for an excuse to leave Banana Phone so he'd probably join too. We could have an awesome social guild. :o
 
LOL, I never knew we got an offer from NAF. I didn't know the 6 of us were considered "quality" enough for them. :P

It would be awesome to revive FN as a WoW guild. I still have the FN sack on Fellina, never threw it away and never will. It will vanish with her into the aether.

Still can't believe its happening. Your kids won't let you quit, because then they can't see Mark anymore!

We'll give TWSS plenty of advance warning, seeing how slow people are on reading the boards I thought we'd be better served announcing it in ls on Monday.

And you know us not seeing you is BS. :P We're still coming to VB at the end of June, and plan on taking you out for dinner for your birthday. ;) I'd have people over for Easter too if Aud weren't stealing everyone away.

If only we could have afforded it. At the time that we would have bought tickets though, Carl hadn't been paid by Medicare in months and months. They just now settled up for the past 6-12 months of bills. :/ As it is now, even though we've finally got money coming in, between Sofia's dental work and the trip to Disney we're making with my family in December we should just about break even this year, lol.
 
We don't have many friends in VA, Mark. As long as you still want to hang out periodically, we'll be interested too. I can't promise too much excitement, since we have the kids; but we'll find stuff to do.
 
On an unrelated note, I've noticed something additionally annoying about Necrosis. (In addition to his generally unlikable personality and penchant for stealing.) Lately, most of his posts--at least his initial posts in a given thread-- all follow the same pattern:

Disney? I live less than 30 minutes from Disney. And Klara really wants to meet you, too lol.

Assuming you mean Disney World, the only real Disney.
