HOLY CRAP (update details)

A chocobo riding game has been added. The player must deliver a chocobo from the chocobo stables where the quest was offered to a designated nation.
yay! choco funnnnn~

Several new quests have been added, including:
-Rematches with mammets and the Mithran sin hunters
And more!
<><><>what the hell is that about?<><><>

The way that the following items are acquired has been changed:
Archer Ring, ...In addition, players may receive an EX/Rare or EX item with the same attributes from the monsters who previously dropped each of the above items.
HAHA!! no more 15c/hour for you bettylilly, Everblack, angle, krismen

The rate of success for Foe Lullaby and Horde Lullaby has been lowered for players with bard as a support job.
-A limit has been imposed on the amount of HP that can be absorbed by Bloody Bolts’ HP Drain effect during Ballista.
haha there, now its more even (friggen whm/brd piece's of ^$%*)

Peacock Charm "gimp" isn't affecting its stats in any way, only its market value (and nice though market value is, it's a completely moot point unless you change your mind and decide you don't want the item). For all we know the new way of getting it might be even more of a pain and the price will go *up* on you. Or it could be easier and the price will go down.

RNG "gimp", well, you'll have to vary where you're standing but even the update details don't give any details on how exactly that works (... of course). For all you know if you're standing in the "right spot" you'll get same/better results now than you got pre-patch. The idea is more that if you're in the "wrong spot" you'll get penalties.

As for not doing ridiculously good damage on enemies way way high above you, hate to break it to you but that's kinda fair. And the utsusemi nerf, much though blink *tanks* will hate it, is beneficial to RNG/NIN or any other job that subs NIN for the purpose of avoiding damage (when AOE'd or when pulling unwanted hate) but which doesn't actually want hate.

Only took 26 minutes for someone to start whining. How is it "gimp" if the item you bought last week is still the same thing after the update? Who cares about its market value? Are you planning to sell yours? Or are you just sad that other people will have a better chance of getting one now and you aren't as "1337" anymore?

Personally, I think SE finally did something right. This update rocks!

do I hear rangers whining?

Not like it's going to kill rangers, but it's going to change them a bit. Fearing change?

And I'm all for people going to WoW, servers are too crowded anyways. They'll beat the game 200% in a year or so and move on to vanguard anyways

CoP mission stuff. I assume that to have a "rematch" you would have to have beaten them in the first place for the missions. You fight three mammets (of one variety) in the CoP 2-3 BC, and five mammets (of a slightly stronger variety, but considering you're 20 levels higher they're wimpier) in the CoP 6-4 BC. You fight the sin hunters in one of the three BCs in CoP 5-3. (The other two 5-3 BCs are a time-bomb snoll, and a quartet of moblins with a bugbear.)

You may have also seen the sin hunters in a few quests. Their names are Shikaree X (appears in a quest in the safehold), Shikaree Y (appears in the Tuning In and Tuning Out quests), and Shikaree Z (appears in the Attohwa map quest).

i never thought of that...

yeah people who are not tanks but sub nin, this will actually help them when they start doing wacky damage.

Ohh great wait till the week after I buy a PCC to gimp it.
That and the RNG gimp is really making WoW look much nicer...

Then try to sell your PCC now before there is time for the price to drop. Then when it hits the 1mil mark, buy/bcnm/enm it or whatever you have to do to get it again.

It's because I am losing money.
I bought it for 20m, a month from now it will probably be worth 100k (Look at Raise3), that is something worth whining about IMO.

Why? When you had 20M, you obviously wanted the thing enough to buy it. You were satisfied w/ the purchase right? It's just like any other risk you can take in the game, you bought something you really wanted and now it just happens that it's going to be cheaper. Shit happens, don't blame S-E for trying to make people happy.

You spent 20M on an item which was worth 20M to you. If you didn't consider it to be worth that much you shouldn't have bought it in the first place. If you did, then you really have nothing to complain about as far as initially spending the money. And it doesn't matter what it will end up selling for later, if you never intend to resell it. Capiche?

Plus, like I already said, who's to guarantee the new source of the item will be *easier* than the current source? They said it was changed, they didn't say it's a 100% drop from a Worker Crawler. For all we know it may become even rarer now, and the price will go *up*.

I started ranger about a month ago. I heard about this update and stopped. Why?

Not because I'm a whinny bitch, but because I'd rather play it this way.

If I learn to play it the new way, I'll never know what I was missing when compared to the old way. Plus I won't have to relearn the job. I stopped when I hit 24, now I can go get Leaping Boots, an Emperors hairpin, an Archers ring, AND a Peacock charm before I play it again. Not to mention, I'm have my Nin at lvl 18 and Utsusemi ready for when I go back to it.

/em buys 12 wijnruits and 12 stacks of Shihei

That should last me a while. :D

If you bought leaping boots last week for 800k, and tomorrow they go Rare/Ex so you can never sell them again, will you be pissed off?

He spent 20 million, but in the back of his mind, he knew that one day the charm would go up in price, and he could just as easily re-sell it and maybe make a profit, not lose tons and tons of money.

I think they read a few of my posts on how to balance the economy a bit... But seriously, this makes me very happy  :D This game has too much equip reliance and now SE is doing something about getting that equip to the masses. I do feel sorry for the person who just dropped 20 mil on a PCC, or 800k on a Emp pin, only to have it become Ex a week later so they're screwed out of the money they just spent all that time farming. At least now I have a chance of getting LB, EH, PCC, and the like for my Ranger, who otherwise, is going with, at best, HQ gear... I hope this update with the ranged distance does what I think it will do, and make it a bit more realistic with distances, Longbows shouldn't be effective in under 5 feet, I don't care how small the shooter is. All I can say is: SE, keep on doin what you're doin.

Your leaping boots aren't gonna be rare/EX. The only thing changing about those 4 items is where they drop.

4 new items with the exact same stats will be added to the game where the old ones drpped. Edit: Only the NEW Items will be rare/ex.

Meaning if you want it without buying gil for it, then you should go camp it where SE intended for it to be camped....and the only thing you'll find there are people that want to Use the item, and therefore only need 1 of them.

Nope. Of course, his PCC isn't going Rare/Ex so he can sell it again. If you're going to go hypothetical, make the question relevant. Here, I'll do it for you:

Nope, because I wouldn't have bought them with the specific purpose of making gil off of them at a later date, I would've bought them to use NOW.

No one said anything about making those items RA/EX or EX. They said you could recieve a item with the same stats. As in different items.

The tradable versions will still be around. And because they're tradable, they still hold the same value. Look at the Archer/Sniper rings. With the Woodsman, Jaegar, and that other Accuracy+3 Ring, They still held the same price. Why? Because the methods for getting those other rings aren't sure-fire, or as incredibly easy as killing a lv40 Slime.. And those rings are all tradable as well, so it should've shot down the price.

As well, look at Ochiudo's Kote. When their alternate item(Horomusha Kote) was available, the price still went up.

You guys are seriously getting your panties in a bunch too early over that. You have to remember that this a change with an update containing new NMs and BCNMs.

I personally would've like them to put alternate methods for optaining KB, Aspid, Fafnir and Nidhogg loot in before alternate ways to obtain overrated items like the Peacock Charm.

I never intended to resell it.
I invested pretty much all of my money on that PCC, and having SE mess up that investment is something that isn't making me happy.

What is the point of spending hours upon hours farming/synthing/camping to have enough gil to buy a very expensive and rare item if SE is just going to make that item less rare whenever people that can't/won't/don't spend their own time to get that same item.

And yes, seeing every one and their moms walking around with a PCC within a months is going to make me feel less "1337" thank you.

Riiiight, you wont be pissed. Like hell you wont be pissed. Every human being would be upset.

Leg has every right to bitch, but no one really knows whats going to happen yet.

And you losing 800k is like him losing 20 million. I think the example was valid.
