HOLY CRAP (update details)

Prices at guilds have been changed to reflect the amount of each item the guild currently has in stock. The cost may rise to a maximum of five times the original price.

now THAT worries me............wtf? they must be trying to kill every way to make money... i understand alot of gilsellers have leveled crafts, but come on

vivian ring is the worst drop rate in the game.... its almost near impossible to get, not just a pain in the ass. lol, you have to take a near alliance and then win the lot or let them give it to you. its drop rate is up there with the kraken club drop rate. thats why serket ring is so expensive. ;)

Then it's by far, not the worst drop rate in the game.

I've seen a good amount of people with Kraken Clubs, but only one person with a Defending Ring :p

There is give or take 6 active defending rings on quetz..

its ahead of a kraken club, just was giving a correlation. but, i have seen 2 defending rings, and probably 8 vivian rings. (vivian rings have been around longer than defending rings as well)

Quick question Vang, not flaming, just asking:

If the method to get a Peacock Charm requires Sea access, is it any more or less fair?

I wouldn't be suprised if the method was as involved as the Ebisu Rod quest. For those unfamiliar with the quest, you need to do this:

1) Get a 95,000 GP item (Serpent Rumors) to be able to flag the quest and a 115,000 GP item (Mooching) to give you more time to fight the fish.

2) Do a bunch of quests in Selbina and Mhaura (including getting a Sand Charm) to have Zaldon gut fish for you.

3) Flag the quest in Rabao.

4) Fish up Sea Zombies (Ferry during Pirates only) and Cave Cherax (Kuftal/QSC only, very dangerous fishing points) and turn them in to Zaldon.

5) Have a 1/10 (or less) chance for each fish to give you an EX piece of bait.

6) Get Lufaise Meadows access

7) Fish up Lik (legendary in Lufaise) and Gugrusaurs (legendary on the Ferry, Pirates only) with the EX bait. Mobs will bite this bait too, and they're a huge, huge bitch to fish up even at 100+8 skill.

8) Turn in Lik and Gugrusaurs to Zaldon and hope he gives you a rare/ex piece of crafting material.

9) Turn those pieces in to Zaldon and get an Ebisu rod - unbreakable and better than the Lu at fishing up stuff (rumored, there's only one confirmed Ebisu on all servers.)

Imagine if you needed to do THIS to get a Peacock Charm via quest or other means. Everyone would be back at Argus in a heartbeat.

Well of course now we are talking extremes, even still a quested, BCed PCC is just not the "Same" as the absolute heart attack that shooting that provoke out at a red named Argus, killing the big blob, and seeing you have found a PCC on The Argus will ever be.

You've never tried to fish Ryugu/Takarito/insert random level 120+ fish here up, have you? Those guys are tests of skill (and yes, suprisingly enough, they make it pretty damn hard to reel those suckers in.)

No, it's not on the same scale, but it's been three months since the Ebisu quest showed up and there's ONE Ebisu out there. I think that's pretty comparable to learning how to camp Argus effectively.

Probably an attempt to stop the people that buy out guild supplies right when the guild opens and then putting them up on the ah for a huge profit. You ever seen the guy that logs in like 10 seconds before the smithing guild opens, buys all of the bronze ingots within seconds, and then logs back out... and does this 24/7? I'm not a crafter, but hopefully it will stop bots like that.

Ohh great wait till the week after I buy a PCC to gimp it.
That and the RNG gimp is really making WoW look much nicer...

/em wonders how many US dollars you just pissed away. :P

I find it amazing that vang knows so much about me and what i've done to camp for gear when he wasen't around for .....

My making a mil for astrals off of tiger fangs and other beaucidine mobs.

My camping O. kotes for 3 months only to still not have my own set.

My camping moldavite earrings for a week for two blm friends.

My helping with two rounds of items on the brown belt.

My numerous other campings and farming runs, let alone 2 months spent mining.

My cooking skill being at 94 w/ no guildpoints and farming half my ingredients for myself..

This is the first post in what i'm sure will be many replying to his assanine elitist bullshit. Plainly though, if you'd like to make it personal take it to the flameboard, ass-hat.

What worries me about this is that the guild campers will just continue to camp, and up the prices at the AH.

Let's talk jobs for a minute, just to clarify i am a monk first and foremost, yes. I am also a bst, thf, whm, ... well lets do this the easier way .. i'm also everything else but a nin, rdm, brd, and rng. Now, regardless of my jobs and/or skills with said jobs i find it absolutely amazing that all you could manage to respond with was "well your spelling sucks to, and you're a monk so who gives a shit what you have to say" real mature and intellectual, glad you have something to offer to the conversation aside from being a complete dick, vang.

Your mindset that you know what you're talking about, while you might, is overshadowed by your unwillingness to have a decent conversation about this matter and proves the point that most people who want to bitch about changes in an update really should unplug for a second and consider changing hobbies. Did they make it easy to obtain good items? sure. Are you out anything for it? no. Why all the hostility? Certainly doesn't do much on your end to boast joo pwned der galka monk on de boardz.... does it?

made a valid point, don't agree with it? good deal. Show some fucking respect though, i'dve done the same for you.

Please don't talk shit on people not knowing how to play jobs, you are a MONK, you do nothing but auto attack and hit stuff. Real mechanics involved there

In future do your homework before making comments like this, dipshit.

In regards to the other nonesense you felt it neccessary to share. Yes i have gone out of my way on video games for an item, no i didn't bitch about it .. did i call it work? certainly not, it was simply an objective in a game .. i find these fun and part of the game if i'm interested in getting them, that's the fun part... sounds like you need a reality check.

And btw .. you don't catch me bitching about needing to be better than other people, do you? Food for thought about you're little "Joo must not like GilorZ" comment.

Having waded through 13 pages of spelling errors that approach vulgarity, economic conjecture, complete disregard for the update information provided, and a couple people who seem to know what they're talking about i have this to say:

Apperantly some of you read the warning before you hit play and a few of you don't. IMO this update relates to that warning in a HUGE way. Congratulations to those of us who'd rather be xping or don't want to sit next to some jackass who doesn't _need_ an item to function better/properly. To everyone bitching and moaning about how they put so much time and "work" (yes, "work" i can't believe people said it either .. it's a fucking video game, unplug for a minute, jesus.) into what they have, yep that sure does suck, too bad you're priorities were whacked to start off with.

On a side note to rangers. Note: you're not the only job who uses ranged attacks, so fuck off with all your whinning (war, sam POV). On the other job's i play side of things: WEEEEEEEE more invs while you silly bastards try to figure out how to play your jobs again!

Anyway, Update: GOOD. Elitist bitching and moaning before anyone knows anything more than what SE posted: BAD.

I keep wondering when someone is going to register ChickenLittle as a forumn name for threads of this nature

mokk, you came into this thread tossing insults around.

i think all the cooks would be pissed if SE decided to make all foods available from NPCs for market price. So seeing people upset at nerfing their source of income is completely understandable.

i actually remember the uproar when they nerfed cooking (right as my mule was hitting 65. there a lot of pissed off people then.

so bashing the people negatively affected by this update isn't right. if you were a high level cook when the cooking nerf took place you were probably up in arms with the rest of the cooks. they got over it, vang will get over it, but for now he has the right to be upset and to defend himself when folks like you come in talking shit.

Maybe it's about time people left items that they don't need alone. I'd personally like to see NM hunting knocked off its pedestal. No one camps items for themselves any more. Every whore nin/war I see down in the temple trying to provoke Sozu pisses me off. They're nothing but a bunch of lousy beggars with the attention span to provoke. Or not even that if they have a turbo controller. They don't deserve 20 million gil to camp argus. The difficulty isn't in the camp. It's in the losers who whore the site. SE may have simply taken the whores out of the equation and put the PCC back where they may have intended it to be--merely high end and not "no chance in hell of affording or even winning."

Preying on imbalance only causes the dev. team to implement changes like this. NM gil campers are nothing but imbalance brokers. In my opinion NM hunters brought this on themselves by refusing to let up--by making "get it yourself" impossible even if you're capable of killing said mob.

i see you know how to quote people but i still don't see an insult in there, i did come in to the thread slinging generalizations and somewhat snide (sp?) comments about the thread as a whole around, yet i didn't bother naming names as there wouldn't have been much point. My bad i post with a sense of humor ... i talked no shit other than rangers weren't the only ones affected by the ranged update and made a point to direct my comments at all the whinning and bitching and moaning that has been done on their end for quite some time...

I was a high lvl cook during the cooking nerf.

I had multi-hit weapon skills during the TP nerf.

I dare you to find a post about me whinning about those.

Personally i could care about your interpretation of my post the fact of the matter is i made no personal attacks on anyone, go ahead and pick through everyone else's posts to threads of this nature and i'm positive you'll not find me being the only snippy person about all the whinning and bitching.

you slung insults at NM campers, which vang happens to be. I think you can see that. you slung insults at rngs, if one had decided to respond to you in a negative way, would you be surprised as well?

oh noez! by the same token i just ripped myself a new asshole ... wait .. let me flame myself  get a life.

If you'd like to take this further stick to the topic in the flameboard, i'll not be part of another hijacking due to the ignorance of others.

I know NM gil campers, and they know I don't agree with what they do. They play middleman so that the people with the most gil get what they want. Unfortunately the people with the most gil often don't deserve what they get. That label trickles down from someone who would pay 25 million for a charm right down onto the person who sold it to them. Thus, while I respect these campers' efforts, I don't respect what they do to the server, which is pander to the server's whores and in doing so become whores themselves.

Apparently the dev. team does not respect this style of earning gil either. In my opinion no soloable item should be worth over 2 million gil. The best advice I can give for people who bought or got these items is to be proud of what you did and to think twice about camping imbalance for a living. There is no honor in it. It simply works, but they appear to be changing that slightly.

Damm you people and you who live among the capitalist...

Damn right!

I'm better then all of you because I have more money.

Bow to me.

BOW TO ME!

*jumps on the bowl of Udon and eats it*

*BURPPPP*

Most ppl who buy PCC,buy it for the looks not for the stats.Pretty stupid in my eyes... and some of those ppl buy gil also.SO enix is trying its own method of killing 2 with one arrow.Decreasing the rate ppl buy gil and screwing gil sellers along.
