Kat said:I'm sorry I just can't take it anymore ... was gonna just let this thread go and let it die but I just have to say this ...
As far as I'm concerned ... if you are under level 25 you need to set your hp where you're leveling ... it is being considerate and kind to the other members of your party ... this bullshit about "your party shouldn't let you die is just that bullshit." Shit happens ... done deal ... friggin spawn your happy ass and get over it ...
If you die and I'm in Qufim farming or in the Dunes I'm more than happy to come raise you ... I even stay til your weakened is off, I buff your happy ass and everything else that a whm should do ...
BUT if you don't set your HP where you are leveling at the time as far as I'm concerned it's rude, inconsiderate, and very very selfish of you ... flame me all you want ... but that's the way I feel ...
If you're too friggin' LAZY to set your HP where you are leveling then become a friggin' BST and don't party with others and hurt their xp ...
'nuff said ...
Kat said:For your information yes I have entered parties where a whm was desperately needed and I'm 4 levels under and I know alot of others who have also ...
I feel any xp is better than hangin' out in Jeuno or wherever than no xp ... not that I ever have a hard time finding a party but sometimes I'd rather party with people I know who ROCK at leveling vs. people with a 2 level difference who I don't know ... but this thread isn't about that ...
And I'm sorry but if you're in the Dunes and you have a gob train on you that's it you're gonna die ... there is not a damn thing you're party did wrong ... the gob spawned while you were killing a crab or whatever ... you can't sleep it cuz you can't use that spell yet ... sooo what happens?
Someone dies ... big friggin' deal ... spawn in Selbina and 2 fights later you've got your xp back ...
And I know Rune it's like beating a dead horse ... so I really am done after this ... some people just argue to argue ... nothing better to do I guess and I'm not gonna be one of them ...
Runekane said:LET THIS THREAD DIE!! XD lol Everything that can be said has been said, and basically all the posts are people restating their viewpoint over and over and over again... there's no sense in that. Obviously if you have to keep reposting your view, either A) nobody's listening B) nobody cares C) nobody cares because they're so stubborn about your viewpoint, that they won't change their mind no matter what because it's been made up already. Yanzi, just let it go, man.... let it go...
yanzi said:ok, one of the points of this whole argument might be about a PT getting more XP because a person homepointed instead of waiting for a raise. you know what? a typical NA PT is so grossly inefficient in the dunes that the 5 or 10 minutes you save wouldn't make a difference. you make it sound like your PT in the dunes was doing 5 chains for 200-250xp and that by waiting 5 or 10 more mintues, you're wasting all that xp. in reality, a typical PT does 1-2 chains of 75-100xp. 5 minutes is nothing at that rate.
also, you're right that some people like to HP in jeuno. not all of us want to spend days on end stuck in dunes leveling the same job. some of us do get more food, upgrade gears etc. i don't want ppl to be homepointing in selbina and using that as an excuse not to go to town to upgrade armor and get more food. there's tons of ppl in dunes who level there for weeks using gear 10 levels too low and not eating food. it would take about 20-30 minutes to run back to town from dunes. if you multiply that by every 4-5 PTs, times 2 for the time to run back, it adds up.
Ryme said:I see your point, but for christs sake, youre talking about people who have just entered the game and are LEARNING. Sorry us NA are so unfortunate and weak that we need to actually LEARN to play. I am JP as well but damnit maybe everyone isnt born with the skills to know FFXI at birth, (i know i wasnt).
Personally I would rather have nice people willing to learn than people decidedly against them because they arent as uber as the 5 lvl 75's you have or the friends you know with the bankroll of half the server. You wonder why so many JP ask JP only PTs, because they wish not to have to try to tell someone how to play their job. But there inlies the problem initself. You want people to play better? Teach them..the funny thing is as you progress higher in this game, the more selfish and self righteous you get, and the egos are starting to piss me the fuck off.
I digress, my only point is that not everyone has a high lvl to fall back to jeuno on. You need to be easier on people who were just starting this game. Yes there are immature retards that spoil it for everyone, but aside from the obvious, people are trying to learn to play the game. Its not like they choose to play to screw everyones evening 6 ways from sunday. Not everyone has the cash at lvl 14 to buy new gear (although they should be working diligently at acquiring it). It is a learning process, and by being arrogant and simply refusing to work with the community you are doing nothing more than contributing to the problems that inhabit the server already.
