HNM linkshells are done with points. You dont just get it if you happen to be there, you use your points that you got by camping other various HNMs.

Lets say you camp Serket, and then you get 1 point. Also lets say that the drop you want costs you 30 points to get. Means you need to camp 30 HNMs, or be awarded special points for something. Thus if a BLM, such as myself, wanted a drop that has nothing to do with any job I am leveling, and I have the points, I could go into the running for it. Granted if someone else needs it, they would probably be considered over me, but it would be a case by case thing I think.

As for Dowzer, look up all his posts, you will see lots of posts made in a certain thread started by Sabia.

Seems like they do it that way so the people who contribute most get thier fair share and the leechers don't. Since HNM hunting seems to work only when you've got a dedicated bunch of contributors. I guess this way you make sure they get theirs so they come back, and the leechers who only come for something and leave don't get stuff.

ok lets stir the pot a little and talk about when i got my AJ i was on my brd at the time after takin blm all the way and i knew exactly what i was doing when i lotted on it with the full intention of using it for farming/solo stuff on my brd, which i do to this day. i was in a JP pt which alliiied with 2nd JP pt to kill Ose and i lottted on and won with AJ and whisker however ever mage in the alliance lotted, so whatever. i dont regret doing it and would gladly again to get the rare/ex stuff i so love and use.

Get over it, that's how any respectable shell does things. There aren't any ways of doing it that are more fair and balanced. If you can't see that, maybe you SHOULD be in "pre-K" again.

This is true people have lives stuff to do etc...

I think the only way to be fair about that would be to find friends in the same situation as ourselves and play with them. I'm not sure of any other way that people who spend the greater part of thier daily lives playing this game would feel its "fair" to let someone like us who dosen't put as much into it as them have a chance at something before themselves.

To tell you the truth i'd feel the same way if I put all that time into something and saw somebody not put an equal amount of time into it as well.

But anyway thats how i see it.
 
I really fail to see why a thief should be just given this item.

SH is far superior for them giving them the TP to SC. A THF that level should be able to make 5 Mil without too much effort.

to quote a thf i partied with recently "TH2 is gods gift to THF's, give me a dagger and widescan i'll make 5 mil in a week in (location i won't disclose so i don't rain on hit parade)"

You shouldnt go gimp for 8 levels because you don't want to slow your leveling.

as far as a ranger wanting the item, give me afucking break, there is no reason i would wear that thing, my rings subtract 22 acc, and adding 3 isn't going to be that great. the 18 attack is worthless when you spam arrows and don't even swing with axe/dagger.

I do see why DRG would want this though, and I think they are the only job that should be given the right to be the only lot on this.

they get gimped by not being allowed to use Haubergeon or birnie, but thf's shouldn't settle for a mediocre piece of equipment(in xp).

plus, its butt ass ugly :P

i dont think it matters if he needs it or not.. i know he just wanted to just have it.. he won the lot.. oh well.. ive camped ose numerous times, i wanted it just to have... i keep making low lots, so i never get it.. oh well.. <That's too bad.>
 
Yes DRG's can use it, but they already have a job trait that increases acc, they lack attack. thf's power comes from SATA, based on dex and agi, thats why when a good thf sata's you see them blinking and equip that body armor and gear all around that enhances dex and agi.
 
My initial point: Someone who is CLOSER to the level of using it -and- could get -more- use out of it, should get it. If they were both just as close to wearing it I would of said no prob. But level 56... hmmm... estimating off the top of my head thats about 250,000 exp to wearing the jerkin. 64 being about 50,000. Who do you think will get there first??

And judging that the galka had a level 62 BLM which he said was his main, I'm sure it would of taken much more time for him to wear it. Every time I have killed Ose thats how its been done o_o "Who's needs it and who's closer?" Simple as that. And being as his RNG is 56 he will be coming back to Onzozo in parties for another 60k exp whenever his ranger is closer to wearing it.

As for the person who said if I didn't boot him then I have no right to complain, well I'm sorry that I did not sink down to his, or others, level of being a self involved asshole. It wouldn't of been fair to screw over the other members of exp because a couple of us were steamed at him. We acted normal, continued exp, and disbanded three hours later with about 20k under our belts. I don't let my personal problems with someone else ruin exp for the party I run. Thats what makes a shitty leader like Precision :lol:

Purpose of this thread was not to make enemies either. Was just saying his actions were something I didn't, and still don't, agree with. ^^

I was a in a HNMLS once, and never heard of it before, so I was like, "Wtf is this?!" But now I see how it works.

sucks for you friend... but since EVERYONE killed Ose together... TWICE... everyone should have equal opportunity to lot, regardless of what job is closer to wearing it or not.

it's tough, but i think that's fair. it would have been "KIND" and "NICE" of that person to have passed and given your friend that jerkin, but... everyone wants to have nice gear, regardless.
