How Do Dinosaurs Fit With the Bible?

have anyone ever found the skeleton of Jesus? .

well actually....
A few years ago a gravestone/tablet/casket was found labeled "<insert brother of jesus that noone knows becausethe fact jesus has siblings tends to be covered up> Son of joseph, brother of jesus was found.
Theres a 1/100 chance of it being real atm due to the odds of a person having a brother named Jesus and a father named Joseph during the exact time period that it was determined to come from. May have had the town he was born in too but...that was a few years ago. I cant remeber specifics.
No real way to prove it is or it isnt.

The whole ascention into heaven thing might get in the way of finding a jesus skeleton. if it was a physical ascention. If it was a spiritual ascention then yeah I suppose we should go defile the remains of an important religious figure. Hey lets go to China/Whereever and go dig up Budda then make him into a halloween prop.

I read about that, but at the end of the show they revealed is was a fake, which is why it haven't got that much attention.

Wheither its real or not doesn't matter though, as its not Jesus skeleton still.

Besides, why would they add "Son of Joseph, brother of Jesus" on the chest? The only reason would be to prove something, but in all honesty, people lie all the time. For all we know, it might be someone playing us a joke from way back.

And even if the casket is proven to be real, it doesn't in any way prove that God exists. Nor that Jesus did the things he did. All it proves is that a guy named Jesus had a brother.

besides, saying there's a 1% chance of it being real isn't saying much :p

Yeah this is all assuming THE Jesus did exist ect.
Cmon though. Do we really expect something to last 2000 years with perfect medical records and a biography next to the gravesite? The only thing that happened with were the graves of the pharoahs/kings ect and 99% of those things got looted to hell.
Chances are we will never find it.
A. We have no real references as to where he was buried.
B: Christians for some odd reason LOVED to digup people graves ( saints) and claim them as thier own patrons ect for thier churches /towns. Jeeze .. how about you LET the dead stay in thier original grave instead of grabbing em for goodluck or to stimulate the economy.
c.You know anyone that can say they're related to jesus with some decent proof and near direct lineage? No way to do a DNAtest that wil prove it's Jesus unless the DNA somehow has 17+ helixes or actually spells out "I am jesus you non-beleiveing fool"
d.earthquakes floods most natural distasters destroying anything saying anything.
E. i suppose if it starts curing all diseases of anyone that gets near it we could consider it "proof"

Thing is, Buddhism isn't really a religion. Its more a way of life. Real buddhists refuse to say they believe in the Buddhist religion, because its a way of life for them. Buddhism is strongly about how you feel as a person, and how you can make your own life happier, and what you can do to feel better as a person. So weither or not Buddha is real or not doesn't matter, as it doesn't involve the belief in a God, and thus has nothing that needs to be proven.

Hinduism is a religion started by the people. They all say that there is no creator, and because of this, they consider it more real. It was created by many different people, all over the world, and joined together to form Hinduism. One can say its the religion of the Gods, since it involves all gods. They don't only have one God, and any God is allowed to be believed in. All villages, and all families, have their own personal God. And since it has no creator, there's also nothing to prove. Their opinion about evolution, cycle of life, terraforming etc. is also very much like the evolution theory. So by proving the evolution theory, one can say you're partly proving Hinduism. And since it has no "creator", I'd say its a far more reliable religion then christianity.

But there's still proof that they existed in their graves. Everything didn't get looted. And still, there's a lot of religious "proofs" that have been dug up and proven to be fakes. Hell, even the piece of cloth that supposedly covered Jesus face, have been proven to be fake. But still, the church shows it and claims its real. There's a lot of other religious artifacts proven to be fake, I just can't remember all of them.

Yes, this is assuming Jesus existed. But if he didn't exist in the first place, then wouldn't the bible be a lie? A fictional story made up by a writer? Because, let's face it, the bible contains everything a good book should contain.

A protagonist, a hero, an antagonist, a storyline, a goal, and constant problems which the antagonist set up. And not to forget that the antagonist is stronger then the protagonist, and sometimes the hero. In this case both.

The king have total power. The government DO have an incredible amount of power over the people. So I'd say the king was the antagonist.

The protagonist, which constantly have to face the problems from the antagonist, the king, would be the people.

The hero, who is supposed to save the people, would be Jesus.

The goal would be to free the people. The hero was later killed by the antagonist to save the protagonists. And thus, you have a perfect story.

There's more then that involved in a good story though. Like side characters, and a good background story so you can understand the protagonist, antagonist, hero etc. The bible have this too. The people is quite natural. The oppresion by the government, unfairness etc. are rather large issues even today. Poverty still exist today, and the social differences are highly noticable aswell. And with a corrupt government, you have the perfect storyline for ANY era, as those are thigns people will always recognize and understand.

And with a hero set out to save the people, who wouldn't be hooked? Especially when the hero have extremely powerfull magical parents, who he can call for help. Just remember not to let it be too easy, since it wouldn't make for a good story if he used his powers for everything. Kind of like in Final Fantasy VII, why didn't they just throw Aeris a Phoenix Down, and why didn't they just give Red XIII's father a Soft?

Yeah the piont of the pharoahs thing was they were rich and expected thier graves to last perfectly undisturbed forever. Are all the bodies of the pharoahs still there? Nope they got looted and sold for 10 pence on mideval ebay.

Jesus was indisputably poor. His family had no way of building anything lasting that would go on and remain almost untouched for centuries.

Yeah most rligious artifacts are pretty fake.
Shroud of turin. Phhht.
A. jesus wasnt The ancestor of fabio. If anything jesus would be arab, jewish, or black. look at the faces of jewish guys in israel and tell me they even look like the same race in that shroud.
B. A large amount of religious events occured when people got high or just plain hallucinated.
Random battle in the crusades i remember. After killing a few hundred thousand christians in the name of god to eliminate non beleivers from the holy land they stopped at a city. they eventuallyended up without food and water.
Eventually they started seeing things and then st peter went up and told em charge with his mighty army of heaven behind them... . (mind you my memory gets fuzzy at this piont since i dont study everything word for word but simply absorb what i hear) Eventually one of the preists has a vision saying they should take off all thier armour/clothes prance around naked and chant in prayer around the city 5 times 5 hour or some amount of time. do the hula whatever

The opposing army(I think they were inside the city) basically instead of keeping the defenses up like they were when they endured the siege that had been constantly going on all stopped to look at the barbarians(thats what europeans were though of. none of em realized they were christian cause of how stupid they acted) they all had an experession on thier faces and were thinking exactly one thing. WTF? then the europeans charged out of nowhere when thier enemies were still just confused as hell as to what was going on. Crazy fucks 1. Arabs 0
that should tell you how ridiculous the "religious artifacts" and the story behind most of em really is.

On a side note the city was composed of jewish, muslim, and christian people who got along just fine. Anyone saying that they hate each other because of religious differences is talking out thier ass or lying. People not getting along in the middle east has nothing to do with anything in any religious book cause if it did they wouldnt have gotten along hundreds of years ago.

And all serious topics turn to joke topics so dont' worry about it so much.

I don't think the question is how dinosaurs fit with the Bible. There are plenty of people who have no problems reconciling Christianity with evolution. It's the whole "God set it all in motion and evolution is one of the mechanisms he used" aspect, etc. I think the real question is how do dinosaurs fit with fundamentalist Christianity, and the short answer is "They don't."

There's a certain amount of mental/philosophical give-and-take required to reconcile the two notions, but with fundamentalists it tends to be a very one-sided process where they refuse to give up an inch of ground for scientific discoveries when they contradict things written in the Bible.

To use an extreme example, one of my friends has a brother who decided his three kids needed to be home schooled because he didn't want them exposed to evolutionary theory. In his view, fossils were put in place by Satan to tempt man into disbelief. Thankfully, most Christians aren't at his crackpot level.
