I use Fraps to take pictures and sometimes the built ingame pic system.

Photobucket has no problems with the size of the ingame ones but lowers the size of the fraps.

Elpon told me to lower the quality of the shots but how do I do that I took some pics last nite and I looked through photobucket a bit and didn't see any tools.

Do i lower the quality with GIMP or something like that? please tell me how^_^;

WHy do you want to lower quality? Those pics areo nly about 25k each so size cant be why you want to lower it

I want to make the pics bigger so i can read the text photobucket has a limit and if you go over it its resized, I was told that if you lower the quality it makes them bigger.

lol ok i didn't exactly say lower the resolution or quality, i ment the actual size of the fraps images. The Fraps image will be about the size of your default screen resolution. I suggested you scale down the size (the physical size) of the original image so that Photobucket would not automatically scale it for you. I have a 1mb limit on my mine but i'm unsure if that's for everyone. I also suggested you change the file type. I don't know if your fraps setting is at JPG or BMP.

Lower quality doesn't exactly mean "make it bigger". Lowering the quality can allow you to have a larger file but the graphics will be slightly more muddy depending on how low you set the quality. If you use photoshop, when you "save as" and choose what file type you want to save it as, you will get a prompt that will set the resolution and what the resolution is going to be. I don't know if GIMP has the same option or not because i never use it.

its set to BMP, and its unregistered meaning i can't change the file type on fraps unregistered version i have to look at gimp and see if i can change it from there or see if photobucket can change it

Ah, well if the default is BMP, you could probably change the file type to JPG in GIMP. Are you uploading the BMP files straight to photobucket?

yes i'm uploading them straight to photobucket

ok that's what's happening. Because BMPs are so much bigger in size when compared to JPGs, photobucket is sizing them down. Your better off changing the files to JPGs through GIMP (which is the program you use i take it) then uploading it. As long as the files are smaller than the resize limit they can still be big and not changed.

Hope that makes sense :)
