Before the post:

The average typing speed for trained typists is around 60-75 WPM (Words per minute)

Advanced typists can get to about 120-130 WPM.

http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php

I type at 114 WPM with 6 errors. Mostly punctuation.

I always knew I typed pretty fast, but I didn't think that I had eclipsed that kind of a threshold, especially considering I have no formal typing experience whatsoever other than just typing on boards / games like this.

I guess that shows how little the classes can actually do for you, other than alternate keyboard layouts / endurance?

Anyway, how fast can you type? The test is randomized.

43 wpm lol, i type very unothidox. didnt realize i can type without looking at the keyboard until that test. i never had any formal training. altho im sure my wpm would be higher if the paragraph flowed...so many commas and so forth.

I got 98. That paragraph did not flow and all, and more often then not, my automatic spell checker threw me off quite a bit. If it was a better paragraph i could have done much better.

Did three of them, 90, 94, and 92, all without any mistakes. I could go faster if they weren't written in such an old style.

52 WPM with 3 errors.

I fail...

"Your speed was: 2694wpm.

You made 97 mistakes"

Now without copy/paste,

"Your speed was: 60wpm.

You made 0 mistakes."

If it wasn't so many words I'd never use in my life, I would of been in the 90-100s.

51 wpm 4 mistakes.

who the hell uses a semicolon these days anyway. I almost didn't know where it was >.<

I suck. 32wpm. No mistakes though...

79 WPM with no mistakes. I'd say I type a bit faster on my own than copying something, and would probably be better if I wasn't using a keyboard that was sitting on my lap.

92, 85, 91 WPM - most errors punctual. For the record don't use Qwerty - Dvorak ftw!

I beat you... 24wpm, 2 mistakes lmao. I have trouble typing without looking at the keyboard. The only time I type things is when I'm on FFXI, writing Engineering Documentation, or using hot keys for design software.

Peace,
Shmed

How about teaching us your voodoo magic for typing on QCDN, when you apparently only use a keyboard for FFXI, writing Engineering Documentation, or using hot keys for design software.

87 and 72 with no errors, the first was much easier to comprehend and copy than the second.

75 wpm 0 mistakes

FFXI = game/forums. If that's not a good enough answer, then... I am the all knowing, all seeing, Oz, so STFU!!! =P

My speed varied because I did better or worse depending on what I was typing.

Test 1: 66WPM 3 mistakes
Test 2: 58 WPM 5 mistakes
Test 3: 73 WPM 2 mistakes.

Your speed was: 80wpm.

Congratulations! You made no mistakes, practice does make perfect.

40 WPM and 7 mistakes on my first run. I have my days, and I do better when I'm not trying to race the clock. Nice test though.
