How fast is it possible to beat FFVII?

I'm playing it right now... before I watch* Advent Children... and I was wondering how fast is it possible to be beaten?
Right now I'm at the turks (all 3 of them on the 3rd disk) with 30:18 on my clock and with Cloud being at level 48. o_O
How fast did you guys ever beat it... I want to watch Advent Children already!
 
lvl 48.... hmmmm dont even attempt Ruby or Emerald Weapon :P.


I beat it at like 34:00
 
I have completely everything done, with all characters lv90-99. All limit breaks, my game clock is 80 hours.
 
Oh and one more thing Andreus...


BEFORE you enter the Northern Crater to fight Sephiroth SAVE your file on another slot. Because once you enter the Crater you cant come back out.

Yeah you can.

Go back to the spiral area, theres a cave. Enter it you'll be back up at the top with an option to leave.
 
It's just a bitch running from the bottom of the crater to the top :P
 
I had a kid come up to me and try to convince me he had beaten it in 7 hours.

Can you even get out of Midgar in 7 hours?! :P

By the way, you really don't need to play the game to understand Advent Children. It recaps in the begining, not that it matters since the story is pretty standalone(and incomplete.)
 
Hmmmm... I see... I'm still having trouble beating the turks @_@... I totally forgot to get barrier, thats why I'm so weak... I cant stand up to any of their attacks... I guess im gonna have to haste > Summonspells and hopefully beat them before I get mercilessly slaughtered... Its so hard fighting with underpowered characters @_@.
 
93 hours! yeah baby! but that was unlocking everything.... and I do mean everything ( . .);
 
Lol I spent 120 hrs on FFVII last time I played it oO But i spent a lot of time in
Gold Saucer
 
I had a guy claim he beat FF8 in 57 minutes...hell i think there is at least 2 hours of cutscenes, but thats what he claims :P

That's the way to play though. Leveling to 99 and one hitting everything and not having to think to win doesn't appeal to me personally.

I say the lower the level you can beat the game at, the more thrill you'll get.
 
Nah, I enjoy the game more when I take all chars to 99 and get everything there is to get, ultimate weapons/summons/misc key items(satans jumprope master key item in FFIX :O) I always play thru each 1 4-5 times though, so I do it low lvls, max lvls, I just enjoy it either way.
 
I did a speed game one time, beat it in 2 days, my clock was at 16:33 as I stood at my save point that I created right before the Seph Fight.

My characters were around lvl 38. Seph owned the shit out of me about 15 times before I got lucky and killed him.

Proud clod wasn't easy either. Hojo was a bitch too.
 
My Mastered file. (All Master Summons, Weapons, all stats 255 on each charater,etc.) -Around ??? Game hours, and 5 years RL hours.

My speed file. (I submited it to a speed run for video games site, forgot where though. Lol) -Around 8hours and 13mins, and two RL days.

You'd be suprised how much shit you can skip in this game. And the CS are skippable if you know what your doing.

I didn't use gameshark, and the only cheat/trick I used was the w-item glitch.(Witch everyone uses anyway.)
 
Pretty much... no one (except the people who cleared the game) really answered my question... how FAST did you guys BEAT FFVII... im looking for speed, underpowered levels, still having trouble with the turks... @_@ I think I have to level up a little... cause when barret dies with my cover materia... cloud and tifa are a piece of cake... I wonder... but yeah... restating myself...

well, i'ma get right on this, battling my instincts to train and get right back to you on this... no sidestory, no weapons, just start to end.
 
I'd be impressed if someone can do it in under 12. The game is really short as hell if you just go straight start>finish and skip everything. My file has like 120-130 hrs on it though :lol:
