How long did it take you to hit 75?

I was just thinking about this..

I have had the game since late last may, and my highest job is lvl 51. My BLM is 26, and all other jobs are below 20. I have about 35 days of play time in.

I keep thinking to myself, if I wanted to, I could have been lvl 75 already, if I had just leveled up instead of helping people with PL's, waiting for my RL fiancee to level with me, etc. I don't feel bad about my level, because I know that there are probably people who have put in just as much time but went straight through to 75 instead of doing a lot of the other things I have done.

My question is, how long did it take you guys to get to lvl 75? Did you just level straight through without doing anything interesting or leveling random jobs? (I'm not including AF gear or rank missions in there). How much play time do you have compared to mine and my level? When you got the game did you think that the most important thing was to get to 75 and you just leveled until you got pretty high, or did you just screw around and do random things, lleveling other jobs, or what not.

I know that getting to lvl 75 isnt the most important thing in the game, heck, if it was liek I said i'd have been threre already.. or at least a lot closer.. but I'm wondering how many people have actually taken the time to stop and enjoy some of the other aspects of the game than leveling or maybe thats how people still end up being huge noobs at lvl 75?

took me about 8 months to get lv75, i started on NA release

WHM18>BLM10>WHM30>BRD60>WHM37>BRD75

thats how it went for me, heh...
 
Took me about 8 months also the 1st time around, but the second time to 75 is SO much faster. I know there were 4 ppl who got to 75 in about 23 days.
 
I'll tell ya when I hit 75... but I am 72 and it has taken me about a good year and 3 months to get to 72. I did take about a good 9 months worth of breaks XD and I've been doing all the quests I can and all the missions I can. I try to hunt as much as I can. I've got hero status in all cities at this point. I've got up to rank 9 in Sandy. And ZM14 is what I'm on now. Fought many HNMs and helped lots of people out. Then again I generally get a PT easily so... ya

About 4-6Months started as a elvaan BLM named Spazmoocow.. -_- that lasted 2 days then made a taru rdm lvled it to 33 solo'd PLD quest... eventually hit 75 so about 4-6months total ;o
 
Took me 8 months to get 75. I started NA Release and thought Dragoon was amazing...well, I got to 51 and decided I like Monk more...

SO I went 1-60 Monk > 35 Thf > 37 War > 75 Monk

60-65 were the slowest lvls EVER
 
been playing sinc NA release. my highest level is only 58.


i hate you all.

I've had the game sine NA release(or shortly thereafter) and my highest job is only 41(should be 42 but I deleved ><) I, too, often think about how much higher I could have been if different things had happened. For instance, I took a 2 month break last spring(computer crash), and since I came to college in August I have been unable to party. My biggest worry is that by the time I have enough time to get my job levels relatively high(this summer), all my friends will be gone.

... 23 days? Wow.

Lets do some math... 6k per hour from Lv0-75 in the best case scenario and as an average.

Lets estimate a little bit...
Consider about 130k exp 0-50
About another 150k exp 50-60
About 275k exp 60-70
And 200k exp 70-75

So... about 750k exp from 0-75 @ 23 days thats...125 hours of exping. Which is about 5.5 hours of exping per day @ 6k per hour.

Thats pretty crazy if its true...

I thought I was levelling pretty fast, been 4 months 0-73 and this is my highest level job.

Hmmm, gotta think here.

'Kay, I started playing the 2nd week of January 2004. Started out with my Warrior. Then in April of 2004, I decided to make a whm for kicks. I was just gonna take her to lvl 25 for Raise. Then I got level 25 and decided I'd take her to lvl 36 for the 3 main tele's. Got lvl 36 and just kept goin' on her. Made it to level 50, did Genkai I and II, and put her up for 3 months.

Meanwhile the PS2 release came out and I met Laur. I think I was level 50 or 51 at the time. Well, Laur started out as a whm, like me, and when he started to level his blm subjob he fell in love with it. Next thing ya know Laur is caught up to me. So, I dust my whm off and Laur and I go to town til about lvl 73, when he is just so bored with leveling he stops cold turkey. I of course, am just too damn close, and by this time I've started partying with the best of the best Paladins imho, (ie. Prophecy, UltraSeven, Grayswander and there is another one who I was partying with but I can't remember his name dammit. He had the bearded model). Also, I can't put Jaz in there at this time cuz he'd already gotten his Pld to 75 and didn't have the pleasure of seeing him do his thing 'til a few months ago when I helped him get his Savage Blade.

Anywayyyyy ...

Meanwhile, Prophecy decides he wants to get Rank 10 and invites me along, and a ton of us go for it, week after week. That was probably one of the most fun times I've had ingame, including dying 2 times to get Rank 10. Nothin' like seein' 18 lvl 70+'s lying in the dirt dead. Damn slime thingy's :lol: .

So all told, I'd say it took me about 6 months to get my whm to lvl 75. Also, I'm an insomniac and sometimes I go 2 days with no sleep. And, it was nothing to me to party for 16 hours straight in one day. Hell, ask Ultra that, or Gray. One time Ultra and I partied together and did 28k in xp in one day. I believe we both got lvl 74 together. Svina was there too. And Maseki and Genna.

Another thing, I'm still not done with her. Just cuz you take a job to lvl 75 doesn't mean you're done. She may be level 75 with both blm and smn subs, but she's farrrrr from done :wink: .

'kay, for the life of me, I couldn't remember who the other pld was I was partying with in the end 'til I saw him last nite (2/19/05) in Dynamis. It's Pauk. So, if y'all have read my above post (which I'm sure half of you have skimmed over it, cuz you don't like to read long posts), he's the bearded one I was talkin' about :wink: .
 
been playing since May 1 2004 and I'm only level 67 rng >.> but I do also have a 58thf 8)
 
Started playing Nov. 2003, highest job is 56. I'm sure I wouid have a job at 75 if I hadn't switched jobs so much lol. Started as a RDM, then went MNK>>>WHM>>>BLM>>>SMN>>>BST. Also played all the other jobs to some extent as well.
 
Hmm I had the game since march 2004

I am now only 61 (started off with the wrong job)

War 30>Thf 15> Rdm> 12 whm 33>Bard 61> blm 17

66 days play time
 
I started playing the last week of January in 2004, and I'm still not 75 yet. Although I've got a 72 whm, 48 mnk, 40 brd, 36 blm, 32 thf, 32 war, 26 sam so far, so I've obviously taken time away from whm to level other jobs. I also didn't play for about 2 months straight due to school and RL issues.

I could have easily been 75 months ago, but I just kept going back to mnk for more.
