Don't get rid of it all too fast Germ. Never know, XIV might bomb somehow and then we all end up back messing around in XI :crazy: hahaha

I personally can't wait for XIV, I played ffxi for 5 years and loved almost every minute of my experience. There were a few bad times, but looking back I realize that most of it was due to just getting bored of the game.

So hopefully XIV can hold my attention for 5 more years^^

I won't be picking Mithra/Miqo'te this time around though, nothing sucks more than getting hit on by another dude... :)

I've played a female character in plenty of games, and I rarely ever get hit on. I mean, sure, there is that oddball that decide to hit on you, but their freak out when you reveal you're actually male puts them in a deep state of shock from them believing it makes them gay, more than makes up for it.

If I play a female character my name better be Daisy and not Germ if someone hits on me! If they hit on my female character and I'm named Germ.... that's just wrong. (no I'm not going to name my toon Daisy)
 
Of course you would name it something else <.<; Its not like I would name a Mi'qote (sp?) Uzor. No, I have several names in mind, both female and male:

Nechtan

Eridu
Aegir
Danu
Modron
Ywain
Myrddin
Taliesin
Igraine
Niviane
Nabu
Morrigan (I know, I know, but I like that name!)
Morgana/Morgan (again, but its actually, together with Morrigan, mythological/legend names, and I'm a sucker for that! Morgana was actually the sister of Arthur, who eventually betrayed him. Unlike what Stargate tells you, it was either Arthur or Merlin's lover, Niviane, that betrayed him, and not his pupil Morgan le Fay)

As for dual-names:
Aes Sidhe (also a good linkshell name)
Dian Cecht
Morgan Fay
Fata Morgana (aka. Mirage)

As you can see, a lot of these are mythological names, astrological names or names from legends. I have a lot more in mind, as well as names that I've made myself, and I usually pick a name from the list that I think fit the character I've made :3 For example, if I plan to main a healer class, I might take the name Dian Cecht or Nabu. Dian Cecht was the God of Healing in Irish mythology, and Nabu was the son of Marduk and the god of wisdom and healing in Babylonian mythology.

I want to name my character Pursuit for symbolism but I don't want people calling me Pur. :/

Haven't been in here for awhile but i am definitely going to be on FFXIV! And am excited to reconnect with many of you guys again! I hope we can end up on the same server and even start an LS together!
 
I know I will def be giving this a try when it is released.

I have been waiting for another MMO to come out for a while now. I just hope that FFXIV can keep my attention as well as FFXI did.
 
I am totally excited for this game to come out and even more impressed by the amount of people from FFXI Quetz server that are actively seeking out others. I really hope we all can agree on a server though since that was always a problem in WoW/WAR/AION etc...

XIV can eat shit unless you can make some kind of real progress without giving your soul to it.
XI ate too much of me, though I don't regret a moment of the time invested.
If it's more of a casual thing, hell why not? ;O
Too hard to be casual in XI and get anything worthwhile done unless you just level up your jobs, beat storyline fights and then sit on your duff.
Chocobo Racing and the other side-events to BS around in came too late. ;/
