How many of you are planning to play FFXIV?

Freak.

Now that I have my PC of much awesomeness, I'm torn. I'd originally intended to get the game for PS3, but now... I dunno. I mean, I can be reasonably confident it'll run smoother on my PC, though not entirely so given the quirkiness of FFXI. I suppose I can just make up my mind when the game is actually coming out/in open beta.

Or I could just buy a copy for each platform and play whichever one looks better while saving the key for some possible future need.

Evan and I can't wait for this game! Yeah FF11 had its sucky moments, but nothing has grabbed me the same as this. It's made me even want to get back on FF11...but I can't wait for 14~ Hopefully I won't get completely sucked in....but never say never, I guess. I'll probably be smarter this time and start off with two accounts. hahah. :) I hope I'll be able to see familiar faces there

There's something I'm a bit torn over....

Trying to get all the ol' QCDN crew back together again on one server in FFXIV

Or just starting fresh...

A lot of people don't seem to get on QCDN anymore and a lot of people I liked on here have been banned, but then again it was really nice/convenient/other compliment to have an active forum full of people from the same server.
It just never felt right on other sites (Allah, BG, etc.), their server-specific subforums always seemed dead and the people/discussions just didn't have the same quality of what was here. Also, as far as I know, this was the most (maybe only?) successful server-specific forum for FFXI.

cannot.fucking.wait.

tho I hope there is an open beta...cause that would be kick ass.

I miss the oldschool quetz community, i'm hoping some of my rl friends will come back as well for iv.

going to need to either buy a PS3 or better comp too...fml

I'll get it for both PS3 and my PC. On days where I feel like relaxing, just working on my crafts/fishing, I'll play it on the Ps3 and chill. On days where I feel like doing some hardcore leveling, well then PC all the way.

Might give this a go if XIV is truly more casual than XI. (Wife and kid..you know.)

I would like to be the taru class with the name BrianPeppers, lol.

No other game has grabbed me the way FFXI did, MMO or otherwise. Tried a whole lot of them after I quit and none of them seemed do it for me. Still looking for that old FFXI feeling and this will be my last try.

DO IT AKY!!!

this +1000

I only really gave WoW a long enough chance to be fair, but even after dedicating the time and gearing up it never brought the same fun as ffxi did.

I played both WoW and FFXI when they were both released, but stuck with FF since I was a complete fan of the series. I spent too much time and effort to really consider looking at another MMO.

I will try FFXIV and give it a fair shot just like I did with WoW. And like WoW if it's not up to what i'm looking for, I will stick to playing XI until SE discontinues it.

I love FFXI and have spent a lot of hours in it. However, i was already a lvl 75 when my son wanted to play and at the time it was hard for him to be in parties with me. of course, that has since changed but he is looking forward to playing brand new with me.

Additionally, several closed Beta Tests and a larger-scale open Beta
Test are scheduled to take place in the months following the conclusion
of the Alpha Test. As an Alpha Test participant, you will be able to
take part in all of these. Your continued assistance is greatly
appreciated.

I seeeeeeeeeee you!!

Yes, I will be playing. We'll be getting it on console as well as PC so me, Ginny and Firepaw can start off at the same time because as Ginny said, it was hard for us to get parties with him. This will change. :)

I'll be there. Wont be called gimp for a good while because i'll have the same gear as everyone else! Woot

I'm not sure about FF14 but I know that I don't wana play two MMORPGs at the same time. I do wana try the game but I missed the fist beta invites so maybe I never will...
