How many of you are planning to play FFXIV?

i'm mainly looking forward to that fresh start, where no one knows anything and everything is a learning experience for all. That time spent building friendships that will last through your time playing. I'm not looking forward to when that time ends and being skilled and well versed begins. But it will come as it does in any game. i'm just going to be more reserved on my play time this time around, i pumped way too much time into ffxi and screwed up/missed out on alot of things due to my addiction and feeling of necessity to be available for end game events. Not this time. i just hope we all find a way to get quetz players on the same server.

Pretty much this. My mistake of XI was spending too much time on it because of not getting things done and having to spend more time online certain nights to get it done. I want to be proactive from the start this time around and I want to use the BETA to know every crick and cranny of the 20% part of the game.

I think that was Squeenix's intention on FFXI so people spend too much time to complete tasks so we pay more longer month after month.
Now that FFXIV is coming in fast, they go and plan on changing the cap to 99 and making CoP somewhat easier.

What's next? 100k Relic weapon completions? lol
 
I'm probably going to be playing. I just hope FFXIV will allow us to pick our servers so we can play with some of our old friends. I will be purchasing a PS3 for this game..especially after hearing some of my great friends that have retired from FFXI will be playing the new one when it comes out :)

I put in my pre-order today, as soon as I saw the article at Kotaku. I guess that means day whatever Canada gets their shipment. We need to agree on a server to find each other on.

I would assume that as the open beta rolls out, or even closer to or on the release date for the CE this will be established. This is all assuming you get to request a server in the first place.
 
Pre-ordered the Collector's Edition today, Though I will most definitely need to upgrade my rig.

Hi guys, long time no posts, but I'm thinking about playing FFXIV, been happy in WoW since I quit FFXI a few years ago, but if FFXIV fixes the only thing I didn't like about FFXI (the complete lack of challenging/scripted endgame) I'll be there in a shot.

I don't know if I want to upgrade my PC for this and SCII but if only this came out on the same day on the PS3 then I'll be there first day. Otherwise, I'll wait and see.

Woohoo! I'm watching this thread for more of my old friends showing up, and it's slowly happening. Good to see your "face", as it were. Fortunately, most of us won't hit endgame for a long time, and a friendly guild/Shell/company/whatever name they use will make the time go by that much quicker.
 
After quitting ffxi last November i have to admit to missing it at times, although it has been good to get my RL back.But now that the release date for ffxiv has been announced im starting to get excited about starting a new mmo again,and am looking forward to trying it out.So i will be there at least at the start to see if it can grab my attention like ffxi used too.
 
For the sake of QCDN... We should pick a server starting with a Q I guess?

Seeing as there hasn't been an FF villain with a Q yet (As far as I am aware), how's about we try a villain name that's slightly more obscure, so, NO SEPHIROTH SERVER PLEASE!!!! O_O
 
I plan on purchasing the FFXIV collector's edition here after my next paycheck.

Hopefully we can all find a server to play on ><

There is. Server names will be villains from FF1-10. Though it sucks that they don't have XI villains (There are plenty of them) on the server list, at least until they need more further on down the line.

Yeah that would be cool if they acknowledged the XI villains, and we still have to decide on a qcdn FFXIV server :o
