How SE Can Fix Crafting

And its that last bit of hassel that SE would impose that would send away ALOT of people to play WoW, if they aren't already.

Ive noticed that the more people that actually leave ffxi, it becomes a much more enjoyable game with better people.

To each his own i suppose. I liked it better when my chance of finiding a competent *anything* in the dunes/quifim/jungles were above 1%.

maybe... I leveled most of the jobs I enjoy out of the dunes when I started, though. I still need to trudge sam and pld out of there, though.

how about making npcs worth buying from and selling to?

well for some items and only a few items on ah you can buy and sell to npcs for a slight profit

only problem is that you'd have to camp ah for gil lol

example

Atlaus's Ring drops off of Odqan, it sells on ah for about 10k(iirc months ago)

it npcs for about...11,693ish? so there ususally arent many on ah

how abot they follow WoW lead in what they did to the Trade Skills

like with smith you can be a Armorsmith or Weaponsmith

more gil making quest is not bad idea also

Prices would be on the rise so fast that you'd have to buy gil from SE to keep up.

Remember when Hauby went up by 1M a day? It'd be like that but way worse, depending on exactly how cheap the gil was.

With this, FFXI will just be a battle of who has the fattest wallet.

mixing the ideas of WoW and FFXI would make such a great MMO

Do you think that more people would buy gil just because it was cheaper? I mean right now it's not a "battle of the fattest wallet" even though if you really want to you can buy a billion gil. I kind of thought that the people who are already buying gil would keep doing so, but from SE, and the people who don't buy gil wouldn't start.

I think the general consensus is that a lot of people who don't buy gil don't do it since it is "not okay" or against the terms of service.

If SE started selling gil, even at a low low price, it would automatically make it okay to do so (buying, that is), opening up a market to people who would never have purchased game-money before.

That's where the breakdown would occur, when a whole lot of peoples' position changes just because RMT would no longer be illegal (even to an extent).

just cant please everyone i guess. SE wont "sell gil". bottom line.

Yes i have to agree that people dont buy gil not because its expensive, cus its not. They dont buy it either cus of:

1. they are afraid of getting banned

2. They care too much what other people think

3. (why i dont) it completely takes away any aspect of accomplishment (fun) the game has to offer.

I dont see S.E. selling cheeper gil causing enough of a problem to effect the AH drasticly. Only that its completely hippocritical and defeats the purpose of gil seller bannishment due to the fact that it would take so long to get rid of them, and once they did and stoped selling gil, they'd have to start back up again once gil sellers reappeard.

PS: i say this for about... 90% of the population apply to these reasons.

that's my anti-drug right there.

SE would never, oh, I don't know, let minors bet at a racetrack?

I'm guessing at least 20% more people would buy gil if there was no fear of being banned for it by SE. And yeah, this would result in any shmoe with spare change becoming one of the richest on the server in a heartbeat...and they wouldn't be at risk for being banned. That'd be...extremely bad.

This idea would doom the game, period. And in regards to disabling gil mailing or trading...people could still trade gil by putting [x] useless item in bazaar for [x] price, problem solved. All that'd cause is an enormous hassle and nothing more.

The fact that people think SE selling gil would be better than the current RMT is fucking laughable.

Gil has to be in existance for the current RMT to work, which means that - barring merchant selling glitches like 2 years ago, which anyone can do, not just them - the economy stays roughly the same. If SE were to sell gil, they can create it from nothing, fucking things up badly for the honest joe.

Retarded is the only word that can describe the logic used to support SE selling gil being a good idea. I'd much rather have this game infested with the farmers than that plan coming to fruition.

I think that'd make for a good laugh is to have SE announce that they sell gil, then have GMs fishing in Qufim and CCing at HNMs for a week or so.

Really though, just no.
