Hi I wasn't sure where to put this but since those HDTVs are practically computer monitors anyway I thought putting it here was the best idea. I have a 20 inch Viewsonic LCD TV and my cute little two year old niece touched the screen(some) and left some little fingerprints behind.(didn't hurt the tv really just left some cute little fingerprints) I'm horribly afraid to try conventional means to try to wipe them of as I might damage the screen. Does anyone know a way I can do this safely?

I know I have a TV spray thingy. Like wiping a window. I've used this on my LCD TV and the Plasma in the main room. Hasn't caused any problems yet, get one that comes with a suitable wiping cloth though.

My LCD TV came with a cloth to wipe off the screen. All I have to do is turn the TV for a few minutes and spray a little bit of water on the cloth. It feels very similar to the cloth I use to clean my glasses as well, only larger.

If you have a camera cloth you can use that also. Only use distilled water when cleaning an LCD screen though.

I just use windex and a cloth.

step one, buy a microfiber cloth...
step two, wet the cloth and ring it out really well so it only feels slightly damp...
step three, wipe the screen...

No need for more steps, its the safest and best way to clean an LCD screen... :D

THE safest way is with either a *dry* cloth or something like moster's screen cleaner. I personally use the latter, as I get a hella discount on it at work, but it's non-essential. The 20 dollar bottle will last you a *very* long time, and has such benefits as a polymer solution to the distilled water in there that makes your screen somewhat dust repellent. The downside to the polymer is that it amplifies the effects of fingerprints and skin oils when little fingers touch it. The packaging comes with a large enough microfiber cloth that you can use dry or spray the solution right onto the tv after it's cooled down.

I don't usually endorse moster products outside of my job in the consumer electronics industry, since for *most* people an hdmi is an hdmi, but the screen cleaner is the best on the market I've ever used.

dry cloths don't get dog slobbers off the screen XD... Great Dane for the loss?

Microfiber cloth. If it's the soft kind of screen like a Computer monitor, get yourself a spray bottle and 50/50 dilute some isopropyl rubbing alcohol with water for cleaning up oils and the like left over from being touched. Spray it on to your cloth, not the display.

Don't use windex, because it's abrasive. It can damage screen film and anti-glare glass layers.
