Engaging in actions prohibited by the PlayOnline Member Agreement, the FINAL FANTASY XI Software License Agreement, and/or the User Agreement & Policies may result in a GM-issued penalty against the account used by the offending player. All violations are recorded permanently and repeat offenses will result in heavier penalties being imposed. Players will be notified of the details of their penalty via PlayOnline Mail. Offending characters may be sent to the in-game detention area, Mordion Gaol (jail), where they will have the details of their penalty explained by a GM.

Account penalties are divided into the following categories:

Warning Minor policy infractions will result in a warning from the GM. The offender is warned that his actions are in violation of the user agreement, and is instructed to cease such conduct in the future. Account Suspension Severe policy infractions will result in the GM suspending the offending account for a set period of time. Suspended accounts cannot be used to access PlayOnline services for the duration of the suspension. Account suspensions are referred to as Penalty Boxes (PB), of which there are three types: 24PB, 48PB, and 72PB. Which PB is issued will depend on the severity of the violation and past record of the offending account. The numbers refer to 24, 48, and 72 hours after 0:00 (midnight) the day after the suspension is issued, signifying the duration of the suspension. Any account that is dealt a 72PB will be investigated and considered for termination by the Account Administrator. In this case, the suspension will remain in place until the completion of the investigation, even if this exceeds the 72-hour period. Ban An account ban permanently revokes PlayOnline membership and is carried out by the Account Administrator in the event of a severe violation. Accounts that have been banned will not be reinstated under any circumstances. A notice will be sent by postal mail to the account holder’s registered address informing them of the forfeiture of their member status.

Cautions

In addition to the penalties explained above, a GM may issue players with a caution. Cautions are intended to inform players that continuing their current course of action may result in a violation of the user agreement. While cautions are not penalties, failing to heed the GM’s instructions may result in the account being penalized.

Repeat Offenses

Players committing a violation following the issuance of their first PB will be penalized with a 72PB and investigated for account termination. Similarly, incurring multiple warnings may lead to the player’s account being banned, depending on the severity of the offenses accumulated. Additionally, certain violations may result in an account being considered for termination at the first offense.

That's hardly the case, in either instance.

Like Myrrh, I'm attempting to understand why the sudden interest in becoming buddy-buddy with them?

You're effectively saying, "If you stop botting I'll be your friend, and I think everyone else will too!" The only way that makes sense is if there is something in it for you. Just what that is remains unknown.

As for me responding to GP, that's no more a derail than anything he's said. You're leading a self-styled crusade a la Vandoura vs. the Hackers (again Vandy, sorry for the comparison), and you sound exactly like that: when asked "why? what is the sudden interest?", you reply effectively with "because it MUST BE DONE!"

If I were to flame you, it would have been done long ago. I don't get the remark "do it in its proper place", because ... last I checked, a QCDNizen gets infractions strewn about their user console when they do it outside the FB. Your logic is a little flawed.

First of all, foremost and above all, it's not your business why i'm befriending anyone. Don't worry about it ok? Worry less about what amerie is doing and more about what tristam is doing. I'm grown ok? K.

My interest is not proving myself to you or anyone on forums or in a video game.. If you don't like someone, leave them alone... If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything? You might not think that way but that's just my personal preference. I might not always follow that direction but i strive for it.

If you must know that badly, and have such a strong interest in ME, and what I AM DOING, then I'll tell you. I like FFXI^^; I spend a great deal of time camping and having fun. Cussing and yelling at people over a game is dumb and will only get you banned yourself. So if thats the real reason you feel the need to address me so much... Because you think I should hate them and take every chance I get to flame someone or express how disgusted I am at them then maybe you should focus your time on something or someone more worth your time .
 
As much fun as Amerie is we got more important trash to take care of how long they got on there transfer left 1.5 months?

The only thing I really have to say on this subject is why would someone bot? Hell, I'm afraid to use windower because I really don't want my account banned. I put a lot of time and effort into making Miros the awesome Taru that he is today. Like hell I'm going to risk that by botting. <.<;

FFXI APP is flawless! if you use target repair with claim bot the chances of you getting caught are like 0%! I knew a few people that have been banned over the years for pos hacks and flee hacks, but besides that you cant get caught. Also I havent met anyone banned from using windower yet, only way they can find out is if you run around telling people

It opens the CD drive(s) of the end-user simply by opening the web page with the embedded code.

It's an old IE/VBScript trick...that even in version 6 (idk about 7) still isn't fixed.

For what it's worth, this actually makes me optimistic.

Ata and I had a conversation yesterday, flameboard free, and got both of our points across. While neither of us will pretend to completely understand the others point of view, we did agree to certain terms. Do I agree with botting? No. Am I foolish to be optimistic? We shall see. But I believe he's making the effort to shake his old servers mentality among his members. Will they all turn the bots off? Probably not. Will their shells rep be washed away over night? Not likely. But hey, Ata gets respect for giving it a try in my books.

Screenshot posting and such are done from me. Some of our members carry strong opinions on the subject, and towards PP. I can't tell them to stop posting, but it's my hope they follow my lead and focus on us, and leave these guys to sort out their own affairs.

Besides, we've beat claim bots before, and we'll beat them again I suppose, but in any case, drama is teh suck, and I'd prefer to stop feeling the need to monitor this thread!

Moral of the story - Botting sucks and is unnecessary. ZM Kings aren't nearly cool enough to risk your account, nor draw this much attention to your shell over. Time will tell what happens.
