If you're the type of person who has 48 hours of straight playtime (or whatever ungodly amount it took) all for an in-game title, then yes, it might be worthwhile.

But ask the next LS who only gets a title (or crystal) from Kirin if it was worthwhile. I wonder what they'll say.

No, they're not on the same level of playing field. I know. AV has only been beaten a handful of times to my knowledge. But to me, a guy who has maybe 3 hours of playtime max per day, if I somehow managed to pull off a 48 hour stint to kill AV and all I got was a title, it probably wouldn't be worth it to me.

And my wife would probably be handing me divorce papers if I ever did that. And I like my wife.
 
Well you gotta chose what is important to you. The only time I want drops is when I'm farming. If I'm out to beat an NM that is insanely hard, then I do it for the fight. Drops are secondary in that regard.

Course in DAoC most of the time NMs were the opposing countries, and epic battles ended up with me sitting at a forge making parts for seige weapons lol. Haven't found people to kill NMs with the same zest that I have for it yet, well unless you count my friends accounts that I log into and control during the fights.
