Seems like a lot of work to go through for it to be a total lie. Ya know, a total fabrication. The funniest part was "Can't believe how seriously some people take this game" when he's sitting here saying he's taken the time to hack out every aspect of it all while playing it like it's a full time job. Still a good read tho.

He didn't play it that much, lol. He's barely been logged on for the past 3 months. He never played it that much. And taking it seriously != playing it.

while i spent as much time on this game as anyone, it was an addiction that took away years of my life and caused problems that i regret. it was a terrble addiction, luckily i never took it that serious tho. I got mpk'd, i didnt cry. i lost some exp, i didnt care, i was always broke, oh well. RmT? didnt care
and of course i hacked every aspect i could, its one of the things i like to do to anything to figure out how it works, game consoles, pc's, other games and programs. i mean i dont need ffxi to do that, but the thing that draws you into hacking ffxi is that its soooo "Taboo" when your a hacker in this game, kinda makes you wanna do it more.
Ive hacked games like halo 2, soft modded (i hate mod chips!) my xbox, ps2, 360 to do things so nuts it made it that much more fun to own.
Its a hobby to me, i like that kinda thing. Im a tech addict and i like to know how things work.
that leads to me being able to do other things, music, videos, my own games etc.
while i loved hacking the game, and had fun playing. I didnt take it as seriously as some of the people who treat it like a second life or something.
 
It's a redemption of sorts for people who have failed in one way or another in life. They're single and hate it = E-fling. They're weak = My WAR PWNS YOU :P etc. I think little things like that are what make it their second life. Solid structure and you know where you stand.
But yeah on topic. Interesting read and you probably did enjoy every moment you played, unlike a lot who are stil playing simply because they dont know what they'd do if they didnt.

PS Anyone notice there's like 60 people viewing the flameboard at like 9AM EST on a weekday?

yeah i have to admit the reason i played so long was because its what i was used to, didnt wanna go to a new game, i played out of habit and not enjoyment...thats why my the past half a year i rarley did anything and hardly logged in if i didnt have to. ive played other games, done other things...i had more time to hang with friends.
i guess i stuck around in hopes excim would be back soon...but he hadnt come back yet.
and my best friend stirce wont be able to come back either.
really it was time to go.

To just to make sure I read your post correctly... you say you talked to Jamal like once in-game, "called him out", called a GM (who obviously did nothing), and that was it? So basically you're saying your evidence against him is some anecdotal evidence that maybe he sorta could've hacked because you were hacking at the time and it seemed like he was too?
 
since I can't seem to get over it and I feel really bad about Darienn, don't blame Darienn for it. She does everything she can for the shell. She even gives up her own morals in order to help. When people asked her to use it, she would since that's what they asked her to do. She refuses to use things like Windower normally, and even though she pretty much does anything the shell asks her to do, she gets stepped on and screwed over by some of her friends.

While some OH members might think I'm bad for saying that, that's how I see the situation with Darienn. So please don't blame Darienn, she's too nice for her own good ; ;

They both had flux capacitors. It's obvious they're hacking.
 
Meh not terribaly suprised, I assume if you are heavily involved in endgame you are either hacking, an ideaeliest, or an ediot. Or you just play follow the leader and smash things that get claimed and call it a day. Ignorance is bliss.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Every time someone makes a post about someone flee hacking or helping RMT there is like seven pages of people complaining about how much they hate cheaters, and now you sit here and revere one of them?
 
I think most are saying such becuase this thread is amusing the hell out of them. It really seems to be rare these days for a thread of this calibur to come around. There seems to be no one who spends this kind of time for a thread nor with this kind of a "shock" factor. That whole prophecy warping out of GM jail thing is FUNNY!!

right, i had words with him one time when he was waiting outside our dynamis zone to start smack, I called a GM and of course have no way of knowing what came to be of it.
now when im running marzurka speed on my fleetool and hes keeping up with me, side by side it must just be W legs right? then i switch to flee...and he falls back for a sec, and then catches up to me side by side, ya know non stop like. so dare i hit hyper and blame it on the lag, but hey what the hell why not.
and glory be lag keeps him runnin the same speed as me.
lag must be the explanation! right?
so lets go through some download logs at a couple of my sites and crosscheck...nothing...nothing...wait his same ip downloaded fleetool here.
Click in vent, say jamal is fleetooling too, everyone flips but cant do anything about it cause...they are fleetooling too and calling a GM on him makes them have to stop.
Thats pretty much how the situation that came to be implementing him came around.
how do you get his IP in ffxi you ask?
well, open the ffxi ports and get a little prog called commview and bypass the encryption.
Then pulls up every IP of players in your zone, Examine that player a few times and their sent packet number goes up higher and higher so you can single out a player youve targetted in game. (ever wonder why sometimes someone on the server examines you ALL the time,wherever you go. chances or they are tryin to get your IP, or just being annoying)
go through some download logs at your plesk control panel or whatever version you have at your site and look for a match.
thats all that happened, and thats why i feel i know jamal hacks.

you dont have to believe me, i dont have anything to show you for it like i did with OH, i showed pretty much everything i could provide proof for so that couldnt be denied also.
like you said, nothing here is more than my word and you dont have to believe it, no one does. Im just putting it out there and thats it. im not gonna force feed you it.

she still did it. thats like saying your family is asking you to rob a bank, and you do it because its your family asking.

hell no i wouldnt rob a bank for my family, and possibly receive punishment for it. (and in the ingame case, punishment for hacking being banned)

so, thats not a justifyable excuse for it.. still did it.

well i think someone said it earlier that...theres not much left to say, i admitted everything, i dont play anymore...what else can really be done.
a bunch of posts hating me wont change anything, and at the same time a bunch of posts loving me dont either.
The only thing that i find hard to post here is implementing people i considered friends...but i have my reasons.
Its just a game, why is hacking in it so hush hush, people need to stop hiding and fess up basically.
i mean while i never fessed up while i was playing, i always wanted to.
thats why i dreamt of making this thread admitting it for so very long.
never imagined in the end id decide to put friends on the radar too...but that was a decision i made and i cant take it back.

I really don't see how comparing a bank robbery with flee hacks works... they're 2 completely different events. That's probably one of the worst analogies ever.

First off, FFXI is a game. Bank is RL

Flee hacking isn't against a RL law

bank robbery is

There's so many wrongs with your analogy that just makes it pure fail. I do believe you, yourself, said that RL analogies sucks because of this.

That's like comparing RL murder to MPK.

yeah man, its true. Darienn never sounded reluctant on vent when she used it to me, granted she didnt talk much anyway. but when she used it...she just used it without a word of not wanting to.
i never suspected that she didnt want to nor heard of it till your post.
your right, darienn is an awesome lady. Very kind and very timid, and probly can be easily manipulated (like hatomi making her say shes gonna quit dynamis if she doesnt get shadow items) but she still did it man...
