The part where robbing a bank is a violation of established rules agreed upon by the members of said community. Just like hacking is a violation of the rules you agree to abide by every single time you log into FFXI. It seems like a bad analogy because you're focusing on the degree of severity of the infraction as it relates to its real-world reprecussions. However, if you look at just the structure of the argument, they are exactly the same...An individual willfully choosing to break a general community rule to find favor with a niche within that community. Essentially, it comes down to relativists vs. absolutists, which should be pretty easy to figure out whom is playing which part in this drama.

Maybe this will help you understand Neo's point on the matter. And please don't think that I am trying to label Neo here, just illustrating a point. In the Bible there is a passage (can't remember exactly where) that basically says that all sin is equal in the eyes of God. Sin is sin. Wrong is wrong. The degree is irrelevant. The point Jesus was making with his analogy is that everyone is required to ask forgiveness of every sin, regardless of what they think about its severity and that God forgives all sins equally, regardless of their severity. Something like this thread should've been exposed a long time ago, now theres nothing left but fake victories from the past, an even more clearification of 2 faced people whos low demeanor and respect for the game for years now to have been built upon a history of hacking which years ago, appreciation for earning a hard-2-get item, for the people who helped them get it.. thrown out the window, and a new generation of noobs who will follow in the hacking footsteps.

Maybe now is a great time for me to quit and save valuable RL hours of my life, instead of wasting it on camping NM's against people who hack to claim. God damn... Realizing now that the best times of this game was when it was pure.. never again will it go back to the way it was...

Now RMT's own sky, a respectable/appraciatitive player is a dime a dozen, and all fairness in-game and competitve claiming is impossible without a program created by people who aren't patient and respectable enough to wait their time for a gear... kinda makes me miss the old days many years ago when the pure NA LS's were based upon competitive matches for claim.. now nothings left but Counterfiets.

Wasn't there another drama-rama thread a few months ago when those temp-bannings happened that were about some of the same people? Wasn't there another couple similar threads were people kept poking fun at Grays for being a known fleehacker? Hasn't Chasym mentioned before he is into this sort of stuff? Shit, he recently made a thread about a cracked version of the new Windows. Can some of you people not put two and two together? (This isn't completely directed at you Watch, I'm just sick of some people being so supposedly shocked.)

it's simple. Neophytal made a stupid analogy that flee hacking in FFXI = RL bank robbery. Someone protected him sying that all crimes are the same. Sicne bank robbery is much worse then flee hacking in more then 1 way, and since apparently, they SHOULD count as the same because both have similar but yet very large differences, one can only draw one conclusion from his responce...

all shop lifters should get put on the death row because shop liftig is a crime like murder. And if someone MPK you in-game, its your right to play tooth for a tooth, eye for an eye and murder them irl.

Using hacking tools has been known to me for years now, but simple accusations and no proof won't hold well in any court does it? I've been around longer than 95% of the ppl who play FFXI and trust me on this.. I've seen some crazy ass shit in my time...

my 1st experience was in Davoi when I saw a JP RDM player... sitting at the zone with about 8x Orcs on him.. his HP life bar was at 1% literally, but for about 5 mins I was sitting there watching him skill up with Joytoy and wondering.. wtf.. hes not dead..orcs at that area register aggro mode at lvl 75 even he did a simple grin emote, and at that single moment.. I realized.. wow.. niggas can accutaly hack in FFXI.. I was a lvl 60 LBM at the time.. and BoL was still young...

Simple fact is.. i've seen hacking tools used since back in the days..and lets not be stupid.. our programs are probably mediocre compared to the tools JP's could use. If I saw that, probably back in early 04", then just imagine wut they got now. Anywho its just the justification that there are so many tools used by many NA players now that gives both sides of the population, an edge over legit players. :-(

i didnt found anything, when i joined OH endgame had already been established.
it wasnt till then they began hacking.
im only sorry because you dont like that sort of thing, its a differnt set of groups. theres those who like it and wont say anything publically, and those who dont like it period and fight against it, then theres those who like it and use hating it as a cover(generally mostly all hackers in this game are this way).
i guess i was in the 1st and third group there in my time of play.
i ruined a "video game" im scarred. lol.

I'm super anti-cheating. I don't even use cheats in normal games. I feel bad when I use save states with emulators. Even still, I wish I had the programming knowledge you have. I've done some basic hacking before but only simple crap with my friends at LAN partys.

thing is, i was never rich, i never got anything worth gil out of anything i did, didnt wanna do it that way.
i couldnt even affort an amemet mantle +1, let alone the HQ staves i needed for smn, but i farmed till i could earn it. I did that much legit.
most gil i ever held at one time was around 15 mil when i completed the brown belt quest and sold it.

hey all my dmg was legit too lol, in those parser runs we did with kizaryo, i only out damaged you by maybe 100, 200 dmg in the end.
there were a couple nights you out damaged me!
there were no stat boosting hacks that i know, rumors and pictures of one that no one ever found that i consider to be a fake tho.

Personally, I don't give a damn if you hacked or not, but don't make yourself sound like an angel by saying that you didn't use hacks for personal gain. You distributed hacks so either way you were an asshole. If you kept them to yourself and only used them for getting around jeuno to get to AH, I'd say w/e, but you helped your LS cheat. Kinda the reason it stopped being fun was all the hackers, and i beg an hacking to counter the RMT hackers, then it got out of hand and i couldnt stop...didnt really try, but i was constantly searching for the next best hack, everyone was constantly asking me for the next best hack. i remember when NM camping used to get my adrenaline running when it popped and i was spammin my ps2 controller to claim, and when i got it, the taste of victory was so sweet...i miss those times but they will never come back.

there were many OH threads, peregrines was one big one i remember.
yep lotsa drama when i got suspended in the temp bans, but everyone backed me (cept pere) in thinking i was innocent, like with literally no effort.
i mean, it just goes to show that everyone in this game is associated with a hacker every day. EVERY DAY THEY PLAY, if they like it or not. and most will never say anything. it could be some of your closest LS buddies, or that really nice person you party with all the time. I used to say that all the time and i still say its true.

yeah ive hinted alot at being into this stuff, with modding consoles and cracking stuff all the time. that one thread about how voke bots work, i almost said most of what i said here, but edited it out and stopped because i wasnt ready yet.
For the entire time i hacked, whenever an issue came up where someone was accused or someone talked liked they knew something about hacking that wasnt true, i had to grit my teeth...i just wanted to blurt it out every time, but i held back. Ive always wanted to say something about it, but couldnt.
Hell givin OH hacks was a risk, i joined, 2 days later i make a post saying...heres some hacks.
At first proph flipped on me, till i found out it was just because i posted it in a public area of their forums and they moved it to a private spot and thanked me.
i used to think myself the kingpin of hacks, then i found out i wasnt when i met stiller baum and HAXXOR of ffxihacked...they pwn this game, and stiller is the creator of that new windower. Its gonna be like that that one chain reaction movie if SE doesnt do anything.
I have let little tid bits slip that im into this whole thing throughout my time in the game.
and im still AMAZED that so many people that knew i hacked, which there were alot that could of exposed me at any time. Kept their mouth shut. because they wanted what i had. That is kinda sad really, i really expected someone to rat me out somewhere but thats gotta be the oddity of all things that even those who quit OH and had nothing to do with them anymore...didnt say nothin.
