That does actually happen on occasion; someone quits and gives their gear to friends. It's not nearly as common as it's being used as an excuse to hide gil buying, but it does actually happen. I mean this as a general response, just quoted you because you had the dialog of what they say.
 
ignoring the OP situation for the moment, i fail to see why a 74PLD needed a monk to re-ding and re-buffer... even with some less prime choices for DD, a Mire party can still haul in enough XP to at the very least re-buffer a PLD, a buffer enough to not delevel in dynamis, in a sort amount of time.

That being said, the OP's point only becomes more valid

Perhaps if everyone ditched LS events/quick gatherings so they could xp some gimp leveled job with 5 other retards they didn't know then EVERYONE could (yet again wipe to Fafnir) and NO ONE WOULD EVER BEAT HIM! I mean basically where is Element now? This has nothing to do with any shells. It's about someone who is going to leave people's XP pts when they wanna do something else. If I want to make a topic about a retard who DB's Strider Boots to someone instead of trading, feel free to contribute.
