- Add another set of Lv.75 armor for each job that for the most part exceeds AF & relic. (Example: PLD: Females get dressed similar to the style clothing of the Valkyrie from Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, while males get dressed similar to Balmung from the .Hack// anime series.)
- Add flowing leg armor pieces such as skirts, long skirts, lower piece to robe, etc. (I know the game engine is different so it may not exactly "flow" perfectly)
- Add Male Mithra & give current mithra option to switch genders upon logging in after patch. Male mithra will be a bit more furry & a new cutscene will become viewable by speaking with a certain NPC that will show how male mithra have now been made to be more plentiful. (Think Rei from Breath of Fire III or VI)
- Make several beastmen races & new ones available for play. A new starting city for beastmen would be created in addition.
- Give PLD Provoke so can take advantage of other sub jobs & remove NIN's requirement to purchase Ninja tools. NIN would not be receiving Utsusemi:San & PLD would be able to Provoke & possibly sub NIN for Utsusemi: Ichi & Dual Wield.
- Give each race a quest to complete, during which they will learn about their races past & obtain new race-specific traits/abilities.
- Add ability to jump & swim underwater.
- If players type "PvP (matchname) (password)", all players who typed it with the correct matchname & password the original initiating player chose, will be temp. logged out from current server & sent to instance of desired map to duke it out. (Not everyone likes ballista, plus this makes for easier 1v1)
- Add an arena which would allow spectators to gamble their Gil on the outcome.
- Once a player is added to your blacklist, his/her character will no longer appear on your screen. If the blacklisted player is in a PT you are invited to, upon receiving a PT invite, you will be 1st warned.
- Allow players to set an away message when setting their status to AFK. Once someone tries to send them a message, the away message will be sent in response to the person.
- Add hair style, hair dye & makeup NPCs in Jeuno & Aht Urghan. NPC will allow you to pay a fee to alter your hair coloring, hair style &/or face (including new styles, hair colors & faces. Think blue, cyan, hot pink, green, etc.).
- Receive trophies for competing in sanctioned PvP tournaments. (various trophy categories)
- Animated weapon graphics.
- For the weaponskill "Knights of the Round" have colorful ghosts of former knights encircle the mob, then all at once, raise their swords & bring them crashing down on the mob.
- Add a spell for BLM & RDM that would allow them to summon a party member from across the map.
- Give PLD Raise 2.
- Allow linkshell leader to assign titles to certain officers & members that will appear when viewing the linkshell member list, letting members know who is in charge of what, or just create silly titles for certain members.
- Add mini-rotating map with compass in place of current compass. Dots will still appear to warn of nearby monsters & players, but red dots will also appear to show how nearby you may be to a marker you set on the larger map.
- Create multiple instances of the same map. Upon zoning to the next map, a box will appear allowing you to choose which instance you wish to join. (ex. Aht Urghan Whitegate 2)
- Give PLD merits to alter their damage output to where it can come somewhat close to a normal DD, but not too close. (Don't want everyone going PLD)
- Add a Guild Hall in Ru'Lude Gardens where members may enter the dwelling of their equipped linkshell.
- With each new expansion, update the music in each area, or at least each city & town. (Bagpipes gettin' old)
- Add MP3 player.
- Change Chocobo racing (although hasn't been released yet), to where players ride chocobo as normal, but at a higher speed, on a track setup on an outdoor map & can control the chocobo.
- Allow outpost warping to anywhere supply quest has been completed, reguardless if another nation has control.
- Make items used to spawn Byakko, Seiryu, etc. Rare Ex.
- Make DRG pets age over time until they reach larger size & begin doing more meleeing. Upon growing larger the wyvern will not appear unless meleeing during a fight, at which point it will swoop down from high in the sky to attack temporarily.
- Make Relic Weapons + Shield a little bit easier to obtain by lowering the ancient currency requirements for upgrades.
- Allow Fellowship NPCs to zone to different maps with you & not have a time limit for resummoning them with Signal Pearl. Even after logging, you may resummon your NPC. If your NPC dies in battle, you have to wait a real-life week before able to resummon as they rest up in the infirmary.
- Once maximum exp is reached at lvl 75, exp lose can no longer occur. (unless the max. level is later increased with an expansion)
- Allow the game to be windowed & minimized.
- Add Dual Wield to the job traits of several other jobs such as WAR.
- Remove the need to have purchased pickaxes, etc. Randomly spawn a multitude of rocks to mine, wood to chop, etc. like in EverQuest 2.
- Alter the damage dealt by players so that fights take less time & less people are needed for some larger scale events such as Dynamis.
- In order to high quality certain items (ex: Cursed Schaller), one must complete a tedious quest for a legendary craftsman, trade the item, it gets HQed.
- Make mannequins easily craftable by woodworkers & allow players to alter the pose from within their mog house. Mannequins will give no bonuses & the max. # you can put in Mog is 20.
- Add a bunch more emotes & animations.
- Make the emote /kneel not wear off until the player moves their character.
- Get rid of the auction house. Players will hand their items to their Moogle, players will search for the gear they want via the game menu, a screen with search results will appear listing the name of the player selling said item & how much it goes for. Player will be able to purchase the item directly from the menu.
- Add more movement animations for each attack, emote, etc. to each race, even copy some from one race to another. Allow players to choose within their moghouse which animation will play for what. This feature will include the choice of where weapons will appear when dual wielding, on their back or on their sides. (This will create better individuality & help inspire some macros)
- Add bonuses to players wearing a complete set of armor, including ones already released.
- Galka will be able to dual wield larger 2-handed weapons but will take a reduction in DMG & DLY on each weapon when doing so.
- Add Necromancer job & a bunch of gothic & evil looking gear. (Think ArkAngels)
- Give PLD Reraise II.
- Get more GMs & work on better training for them. They should have some GMs investigating possible leads on RMT.
Will add when I think of more...
1. Lots of gear sets exceed AF and relic for most jobs. You're basically asking for more sets of great gear? A lot of gear is already pretty sick. If anything better was made, it'd have to be significantly harder to get than currently existing stuff or people wouldn't go for the stuff we have now.
2. Cosmetic difference only, and I don't see what good it would do. Sup even more lag than we already have!
3. Also cosmetic only. You're also suggesting SE redo part of the game's plot... I also see no mention of female galkas here.
4. Playable beastman races? Well, okay, but you know, this isn't exactly WoW. Also, if you were a playable beastman, would that make you immune to aggro etc. from other beastmen of your race? That would give beastman players an unfair advantage over the regular players. Besides, the three nations aren't exactly best buddies anyway, don't see what this would be other than another cosmetic change and/or turning the game into WoW.
5. Fuck no. If PLD could provoke, Ninja would be out of a job. PLD/NIN would be the unquestionable master tank. You'd basically take the /WAR "requirement" and convert it to a /NIN "requirement" (and possibly /MNK for mid level exp). PLD would still be locked into one subjob for the majority of roles, but NIN would be dead.
6. The lack of severe racial differences is one of the things that makes FFXI's job system work. Why not take it a step farther and just make it impossible to play certain jobs on certain races? Let's just force everyone that wants to, say, play a melee and a mage job to make a second character, having to do the Genkais all over again and build fame all over again, etc. Sounds "Fun". Also, isn't this more of a WoW concept... again?
7. Cosmetic only. Although I did party with some idiot in Valkurm a while ago who said he really hated FFXI because he couldn't jump. I hope he quit. Oh, and, another "let's make this game more like WOW" suggestion...
8. Good suggestion.
9. Amusing suggestion. Not too bad an idea, but it'd be too easy to bet on the winner of 1vs1 a lot of the time just based on job matchups.
10. Party warning would be good, but I don't see what "not showing up on the screen" would help.
11. This already exists. It's called a SEARCH COMMENT. Not quite the same as what you're suggesting, but close enough, works just as well 95% of the time.
12. Would be nice.
13. Already exist, kinda, but it'd be nice if they expanded on it.
14. er... what? (also purely cosmetic)
15. lol, FF7. Also cosmetic. It's not like many people will ever see it, anyway.
16. Broken. It'd make low level aggro zones way too easy. Escorting your level 20 friend to Jeuno would take all of five seconds. Linkshells could just set up a daisy chain of RDMs and/or BLMs to rush people places. Travel would become nearly irrelevant and the size of the game would become totally meaningless.
17. Wouldn't be *bad* but it'd lower the need for WHMs in endgame too much.
18. Definitely be useful.
19. Lagggyyyyyyyyyyy and you'd have to have a map for the zone anyway. I don't find it hard to navigate, personally... but meh. It'd be nice if the radar had more navigation info.
20. No. This is an MMORPG. Not a single player game or "online RPG" (ie PSO/PSU, Diablo, NWN, et al.).
21. There's an easier solution to this. Mog House -> Job Change -> PICK A DD JOB. PLD isn't a DD job. Or do you want other jobs, let's say SAM, to have merits that dramatically enhance its tanking capabilities, almost to the level of a PLD? Didn't you want PLD to become a god tank earlier by giving it provoke?
22. It'd be pretty cool if linkshells had "mog houses", but it wouldn't really serve much purpose other than just to exist.
23. This would raise development costs dramatically and you'd get just as sick of the new music in due course anyway.
24. You mean like winamp? You can run winamp in the background even without windower, and you can set global hotkeys for winamp which will be recognised even through FFXI so you still have some control.
25. We don't even know how chocobo racing works yet, but all this would really achieve assuming it's currently semi automated is introducing player/connection lag to chocobo racing and fucking over some peoples' chances at ever succeeding at the races.
26. You can do this anyway. The only restriction on outpost warping is by level. You also can't warp from beastman controlled areas, which makes sense anyway.
27. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO. PEOPLE, PLEASE, STOP SUGGESTING THIS UTTER RUBBISH IDEA. (see also: the other thread dedicated to this topic)
28. No. Wyverns already get in the way sometimes anyway. Also, what do you mean by "begin doing more meleeing"? They already autoattack while you autoattack.
29. A small reduction would be nice considering the current requirements are insanely steep, but this wouldn't really serve to "fix" anything, and if they made the requirements too low it'd make the weapons pointless to own due to their ease of acquisition. Also, having such easy access to the shield and horn would break endgame pretty hard.
30. Potentially very broken. Would allow any job to solo almost indefinitely.
31. Fuck no. FUCK NO. EXP loss exists for a good reason. Having a way to remove it would cheapen everything. WHMs would also be out of their job almost completely.
32. Hell yes, having a built in "windower" would be great.
33.
NO NO NO NO NO. WAR/NIN is already relatively broken in many ways. Allowing a WAR to dual wield with an actual DAMAGE ORIENTED subjob like /DRG or /SAM would be terrifying. Very, very few traits and abilities are shared between different jobs, this is a GOOD THING.
34. Would be real nice for inventory reasons.
35. GB2/WOW/ prz
36. This would kill crafting even more. Crafting is already relatively dead in many ways, this would just completely annihilate any use for having a high level craft.
37. Would be rather handy for inventory management.
38. Seconded.
39. Dunno what this would be for.
40. How... how would this.. change anything at all?
41. Meh, more cosmetic changes...
42. Would be nice. Create an incentive for people to wear a few lesser pieces, but, the only problem would be, for many sets, the bonus would have to be insane to outweigh the better options for some slots.
43. NO, this would either be COMPLETELY pointless (nerf the dmg/dly to be equivalent to 1H weapons) or MASSIVELY break the Galka race (combined with your earlier questable race traits, this would destroy other races' chance at being good DDs)
44. Meh
45. That'd be good.
46. Agreed 100%.
