Edit: Also, I want to know what you guys loved so much about those games. Did you find yourselve relating to a certain character in a certain way? Did you like the flow of the game and how it carried?

I fell in love with Phantasy Star 1-4 only several months ago. I think that right there should say something.

I was getting fucking fed up with all of the latest rpg's and their terrible real-time battle systems, retarded pussy faggot characters, and meh plotlines. I was looking for something classic, something like the old rpg's I grew up playing as a little kid, and I found this in Phantasy Star. Awesome TURN BASED battle system, epic storyline(although when you play the first one the story doesn't seem SUPER impressive, but as you progress through the games it gets better and better with an epic climax at the very end), cool characters that actually have some balls and aren't whiney little bitches, and an overall challenging play. Games these days are fuckin easy compared to games back in the day that actually took skill and patience.

I'd suggest signing up with GameTap and forking out the...$10? $20? membership fee(honestly I'm not sure how much it costs, I just play on my brothers account, but it can't cost more than $20). They have a decent selection of old RPG's, like the Phantasy Star and Ultima games I mentioned, as well as a few other classics like the Might and Magic series. I can get you a list of all the RPG's they carry if it's something you might be interested in. It's a good investment imo.

Suikoden 1 and 2.

I'd also recommend Suikoden 3 and 5. Not so much 4 or Tactics though. Though the first game is a bit short and dated, it's definitely worth a play through. The series overall has wonderful storylines, it's not the same old "save the world from some random evil dude" plots.

IMO Zenosaga is the best one by far. The others in the series were lacking though. I thought Xenogears died in the 2nd CD.

Xenogears and Xenosaga while similar are not the same series. So idk what you mean it being the best one.

As for xenogears, yeah second disc had to be rushed. I'm quite over it. The disc was still enjoyable, even if I didn't get to explore more. Had freedom again at the end.

Yeah, 3 and 5 were good, but not quite as epic as 2 was.

Oh and I never played Kingdom Hearts. ><

gtfo of the internet, you're not welcome here any longer.

..no but seriously, play them. Those games go down on my list of the most absolutely fucking epic games of all time. When 1 first came out I thought it was gonna be cheesy(which some parts were, but there are always cheesy parts in RPG's, that's just something you gotta learn to overlook) and stupid because of the disney shit, and the fact that it was real-time combat. But honestly, they deliver. I'm an avid hater of real-time combat in RPG's, but the KH series did it sooooo unbelievably well, I love the battle system in those games, especially in 2 when it gets really badass.

Yeah I'm not that much of a fan of real-time either, I like the classic turn base system. I had to make a choice between MGS 3 and KH when I was buying a game, I picked MGS. I havn't even looked at trailers for KH but I've seen pictures. I'll take your word that the disney stuff works... lol.

Real Time is where it's at (Star Ocean FTMFW)

Oh, if you want to play an oldschool goodie, please for the love of god, go play Lufia 2. That game was awesome through and through.

Also if you haven't already, play Final Fantasy III (Real title name: Final Fantasy VI) for the SNES.

I was just responding to someone who compared the two. I stated that I thought Xenosaga 1 was better then Xenogears as games go. I loved the beginning of Xenogears but that game completely disappointed me in the end.
