I chose that title for the topic, because that seems to be the vide I've been getting from women lately. But only under certain circumstances. Let me site two experiences I've had recently.

#1 I drive a very modest vehicle, a 1979 Ford LTD two door. It's really clean, and I've worked really hard on it. I treasure it dearly. So I'm at the gas pump across from a very attractive girl, and I notice she didn't have a ring on. I also notice, that she had a Georgia Tech liscense plate on the front of her Lexus SUV. She all but 5 feet away from me, and say:

"Hi. So do you go to Georgia Tech, or are you a fan?"

She replies very shortly "I go there."

So I say "That's cool. I've got some friends there, and I go there pretty oft--"

She cuts me off and says "Look, you can just stop talking to me now. Thanks." She kinda scoffs at me, and rolls her eyes.

I laugh a bit, shake my head, and continue on with my life. What a whore.

#2 My band had just gotten done playing our set. We cleaned up, I put on another shirt, and went to the bar for a drink. I was waiting for my drink, and a cute girl (not even really pretty) walked up to the bar next to me, waiting for the bar tender. I turned to her and smiled, and said "Hey, I think you're cute. Do you mind if I buy you a drink?"

She looked at me and said, "Sure, you can buy me a drink. I'll take a Crown and Coke. Tell the waitress I'll be sitting over there so she can bring it to me." She pointed to a group of her friends.

I was like... wtf? So anyways, I bought her a Crown and Coke, because I said I would, and moved on.

So a bit later, (about 10 mins) I'm having a conversation with this one girl about how old she was when she first had sex (I was only still standing there to be polite) when that first girl comes right up to me in front of this girl, and says. "Oh my god! You were just up on stage, I didn't recognize you! My friend point you out to me after! I'm sorry!"

I said to her "Cool! Glad you're enjoying the show! If you want to buy me a drink, I'll take a White Russian, and I'll be over here talking to this girl." I smiled at her, and turned around and continued talking to the other girl.

Gotta love Southern women. What the hell is with the lame ass attitudes? While I lived in Montreal, it was never like this. If you said hi to a girl, she would say hi back, and you two would have a convo. No matter where you were. But down here, you've gotta be driving a nice car or something, or you are considered a "scrub" or something. Give me a break.

So girls, here it is. Drop the attitudes. If you really, honestly think you are all that great, take a good long look into the mirror. You aren't. You're missing out on so much, and you don't even know it.

And until my next post bitching about the world and how it relates to me... [peace]! 8)

Those girls are just bitches, is all I can say, lol.

I was never really into the bar dating scene, since I was engaged by the time I was 19 and married just after my 21st birthday. But when I did go to a bar, I'd never string a guy along for a free drink. I've had guys offer, but I always told them up front that I was taken, and they should spend their money elsewhere, lol. Not in a mean way either- after having self-esteem issues though high school, I always got a bit of giddyness out of someone trying to pick me up, just as a re-affirmation that I'm actually somewhat attractive, heh.

Oh yeah, and for the girl driving the Lexus SUV- the only people who would drive that sort of car are people who are fixated on the image of affluence. She was probably a golddigger, so screw her. :P

Most likely..

THat really sucks man. Dont worry, im pretty sure most really bitchy girls have nothing going for them so they feel they must insult others who do.

Living in North Carolina I always though it was just the opposite. Any time I had to come North, I would always get an attitude if I hit on a Girl that did not find me attractive, where down South they would just say No Thanks or I’m with someone if you asked to buy them a drink or hit on them.

I don't goto bars, because I don't drink and such...and cause I have anemia/heart murmur/chronic bronchuolitis, I won't be found in any places that're potential smoking pits. =\ (social -1)

However, I think it just depends on where you live. I mean here, it's about the opposite of what you stated, but simply worse. #1 pickup line I get - some guy comes over, takes a drink of whatever I'm drinking/bite of whatever I'm eating and says "what's up?", it's f-!king gross. ><

Also get alot of really, REALLY low-brow crap like "You two girls are saucy, I'd dip my chips in you anytime". (wtf?)

But as I said...I'd say it just varies on where you live. May wanna try a different spot in town or somethin...

Ironically, I was gonna make a post in Flameboard similar to this topic. :?

I’ve never seen any of my other male friends use what I would consider a pick up line and I personally have never used one out side of a joke. But I have seen them say what I would consider degrading to a lady but THEY RESPOND TO IT.

One I remember the most is a friend of mine asking a girl about sexual habits in a very rude way with in 5 sentences of a conversation with her. I got up and walked a way out of embarrassment, but he ended up getting her phone number and going out with her a few times. My friends, who tend to have the least respect for the opposite sex, always seem to be the biggest daters. WHAT THE HELL.

Maybe that is the problem Excim, you are not being rude enough.

I share your stance, soldier.

Well, I don't have problems getting dates and talking to girls, I just have a huge problem with girls how they act like they shit gold. It's pretty comical when I think about how important they must think they are. But I can almost guarentee there are some girls reading this right now that know they have done that to someone, somewhere, at one point in time.

And another thing. Girls who have the "I'm a bitch that's who I am get over it" attitude. Fine. Here's my "I'm a bastard suck my cock with my hand on the top of you're head" attitude. I'll bet we won't get along for very long. Which honestly, is perfectly fine with me if "that's just who you are". But you really need to get over yourself.

My favourite quote from Rodney Carrington sums up my dating ideals:

Rodney Carrington said:
I'll take an ugly girl with a good attitude and a sense of humor over a pretty girl who's, oh I dunno... a bitch?

I swear to god the next girl who rolls her eyes at me like some preppy valley girl (we live in the mountains dear) I swear to god I'm going to dose you with a bucket of cold water. And yes, I'll have one with me everywhere I go.

Guys are just as bad...do you know how many preppy-assed bitch guys are out there? Guys who make me uncomfortable when I'm walking down the street in their little groups of over-gelled spiky playa friends?

Ito goes both ways. It's not a sex thing it's a personality thing. You hit on bitchy people and they're going to be a bitch to you, hit on nice people and they'll take up your request or let you down nicely.

Excim you have made my Tag Line.

I want pictures!

Well, thats all fine I guess, but it's very hard to tell the bitchy girls from the really cool ones. Bitchy girls come in all sorts of varieties these days... it's really a rough time trying to weed them out. For instance...

Was in the mall music shop looking for albums I know I'd never find there, and saw this really cute brunette looking at an Our Lady Peace album. So, at least theres a girl who has the same music taste as me, sweet! I said "Hi. Our Lady Peace is a cool band, have you ever been to one of thier shows?"

Her reply "Sorry, I don't date losers."

Ummm.... huh? I didn't ask for a date bitch.

I laughed to myself and walked away. The cashier saw what had happened, and when I reluctantly bought a Maroon 5 CD (I can't help it! Thier songs are catchy!) we started talking and she turned out to be pretty cool. She said "Hey, you know I do date losers" and laughed. I thought that was cool as all hell.

ROFL, that's awesome.

(but yeah, please don't make it into a gender thing--asshats are everywhere...)

It's true.

I can't stand the plasti-tan, muscle-bound, asshats that work in finance and drive big ol' SUV's. THOSE are the assholes I'M a bitch to.

They're usually looking for the mindless Barbie-doll trophy they can bronze up on guilt-gifted trips to the Caribbean and show off to their other grunting, neatherthal buds who do and will take precidence over their free time for the rest of their lives.

I dated guys like this for a while. Conversations started going like this..

Me: "Omigod I had a bad day babe. My little girl is sick and this teacher at work is just clueless."

Him: "You need a vacation beautiful. Want me to fly you down to Arizona with me next weekend? Room service, spa..."

Me (interrupting) "God I wish I could take you up on that, but it makes me more tired flying down there at midnight on Friday and back late Sunday. Anyway...like I was saying, this teacher today went off the deep end on me....."

Him (interrupting): "Awww baby girl. Who's with you right now?"

Me: "Uhh...no one. Just walked in the door. So anyway, this teacher..."

Him: "Why don't you strip down for me baby. Go get out a toy. I only have a few minutes..let's get a preview of the weekend..."

Me: "Umm..no. I'm exahusted and hungry. That damn teacher..."

Him: "I gotta go babe. Call me later and let me know about the weekend k? I want to see you naked! Bye!"

Me (while snapping the phone shut): "Asshole."

That is assuming they can get past the fact I've had kids and more than a few stretch marks.

"Uh can't you work out or something to get rid of that?"

"Yeah, a 56" waist goes back to 28" without any problem..."

They're superficial.

I hate Ken's AND Barbie's.

One of the biggest reasons, besides having to interact with 'em, is that they are RUINING IT FOR THE REST OF US!!

Now, when I appraoch a guy in a bar, or a restaurant, business conference, whatever...he assumes that I'm either a) a bitch or b) easy. Flip side is, I rarely get approached in a bar. I'm always open for friendly conversation. A lot of the ppl I grew up with and am friends with are guys. I'm comfortable around em. I'm told I look like "one of those bitchy women" so guys steer clear of girls like me.

It's wrong..WRONG I tell ya...

/sigh

That sounds like something one of my friends would say, assuming they stuck around out after finding out you had kids.

Oh wow. Pascal, I really did make your tag line...

And on a side note, Jezza, I tend to not pre judge anybody I meet. Hence, not being afraid to ask the chick with the SUV, or the girl in the music store. I'm a social person, I talk to everyone. Even got to know the policaman who brought me to jail a few years ago. (His kid was 3 years old and he just bought a new house. His wifes name was Sandra ) But that's a whole other story....

Ummm..... mt???

I've found that the more money a are has the harder it is to start a conversation with a chick. That might be common knowledge to most, but it took me a while before I figured it out.

In Shreveport, LA, where I grew up, most every girl was game. Sure, you would get turned down now and then, but for the most part all of them would at least give you 30 seconds to plead you case.

Here in Dallas, TX if you don't drive the right car, have on the right clothes, and your face is not completely flawless, the girls wouldn't even piss on your teeth if your face was on fire.

It's a shame, but the truth of the matter is, you get what you can afford. That goes for cars, houses, and your significant other.

Wow - I can't imagine calling a stranger a loser - just for giving me attention....dude, that is rough. *It seems sort of like you are attracted to those sorts of women, though. I mean what are the odds that 3 different girls would be THAT rude to you? Unless when you approached them you were oggling their chests or something...or using the "I am hitting on you in hopes to get sex tonight" sort of voice that only the really creepy (or drunk) guys use...

Sorry man - that is rough luck. Don't give up though, we aren't all nasty bitches. I, personally am always flattered when I am approached by a stranger (again, as long as they aren't creepy ;) there is a distinct difference - and you don't seem creepy - but I am just saying...) but there are days when I am tired of people approaching me....guys don't understand how often we (women) DO get hit on...and how half of the time, it is semi rude/offensive. ***AGAIN - I am not saying that this is you, you seem like a nice guy...but when I am having a week where my pheremones seem to be polluting the air, I do tend to get annoyed by the attention. (though, if I am having a day like that - I DON'T go into a bar and be all rude when someone tries to buy me a drink...I mean, COME ON - YOU ARE IN A BAR, what did you THINK would happen girlie?! Bars are MADE for people to hit on eachother....)

I am babbling - just thinking out loud. It just seems odd that every girl you talk to is THAT rude to you. Then again, maybe it is just the city you live in. I know that people here in DC are WAY more rude to eachother than the people in Michigan....but then again, people here are more tolerant in other areas - so I guess it's a trade up. /comfort

I just find this topic rather one sided, money-wise and attitude-wise. I've been pretty responsible my whole life (a kid but a responsible kid at heart) and have had my own car/job/money etc since I was at least 16. This whole chicks date guys for money is kinda horse shit if you ask me. I've dated so many guys that don't have jobs/cars/money and they just latch onto me while I pay for dinner, drive them everywhere and fork out the bill in gas/repairs/etc on my car. I'm a 50/50 girl, I'll let you buy me shit as long as I get to get you something back. You get my movie this time and I'll get yours next time.
