I'm Better Than You

I just find this topic rather one sided, money-wise and attitude-wise. I've been pretty responsible my whole life (a kid but a responsible kid at heart) and have had my own car/job/money etc since I was at least 16. This whole chicks date guys for money is kinda horse shit if you ask me. I've dated so many guys that don't have jobs/cars/money and they just latch onto me while I pay for dinner, drive them everywhere and fork out the bill in gas/repairs/etc on my car. I'm a 50/50 girl, I'll let you buy me shit as long as I get to get you something back. You get my movie this time and I'll get yours next time.

/cheeeeeeeer

I have always made more $ than Josh - I have never given two shits about that sort of thing. For me it has always been sense of humor and respect...not money thats a turn on

Your a diamond in the rough. There are always exceptions to the rule, your just one of them.

We are guys, you have to trust on this.

I've been married for five years, but I still hear about it all the time. The majority of really attractive women have no intentions on settling down with a really nice broke guy. The would much rather have the rich asshole.

Ummm...we have to trust guys, on how women think...even though WE are women?

Crazy {You can Have This}

I'm not going to settle with a broke-ass'd joe either because I've dated them and carried them. It fuckin sucks. I work my ass off everyday to get where I am and it just infuriates me to be used. I'm not looking for a rich guy but I am looking for a responsible one. It's so bad that my only pre-requisite now for dating is you have to have a car. A)if you have a car you have money, I don't care if you spent $200 on your car, you're responsible enough to insure it and B) Chances are you have a job.

Nice > Money but money does play into it because money is responsibility. I'm not going to date a guy who has absolutely no ambition/drive in life. I'm hitting the big 2-4 this summer and frankly at this age if you can't hold down a job or at least goto school I want nothing to do with you. Hell I don't care if you still live with your parents or whatever but I'm not going to carry my date through life, I want to get the impression that they're doing something with themselves...even if that something is working minimum wage at a retail store. It's not the amount of money that I care about it's just the fact you respect yourself enough to take care of yourself that really turns me on.

I'm not saying all girls are like that. And if I did... I'm sorry, it wasn't fair of me. Again, it's not every girl I talk to. I'd say 50% of the time I walk away with a good experience, maybe even a phone number. But... good lord, the other 50% are just cold hearted bitches. So, sorry Sabia. I know quiet a few guys personally that should be shot in the face with a toothpick using a rubberband point blank for the way they talk to some girls.

And Jender, as I said, I'm a social person. I spend a lot of time at work, and very little time in the "real world" and take any chance I get at meeting someone new. And again, it doesn't happen every time. I've met quite a few great girls out and about. I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about the ones with the more than trite "I'm better than you" attitude.

I think I’ve been pretty fair bashing both side. Thankful, I never have to date again. WWWHOOO I think there are a lot of nice people out there, but it is the assholes that get to you, that you always remember.

I don't know karate....BUT I KNOW CRAZY!!!

What I"m saying is that the next time you at a fine chick, and she takes a look at your ride before deciding if she should smile back...then, and only then will you understand where we are coming from.

I already said not all women are like that...just most of the ones here in Dallas, and from what I understand, other cities with $$.

"In the rough" my ass.

Right, I'm going to trust some random guy's idea of what all women think like, instead of myself and the other women saying that we don't. I really hope you didn't intend to say what this came out as, because it's insulting and patronizing.

And more often than not, these same guys that bitch so much about women using them for money or being disdainful of them, keep going after the same type. It goes both ways. Do you really think the Kens and Barbies (so aptly put by Jezza) would get away with such shitty treatment of other people if they didn't always have a throng of people just drooling to get close and ignore their idiocy in exchange for sex/status/whatever?

I am sick of hearing otherwise intelligent people whine about how "girls are so bitchy if you aren't loaded" or "girls don't like nice guys, they only want guys who are jerks to them" (most of my friends are male and straight, but it's not as if girls don't do this same assinine shit too)--and then keep going after the same type over and over [this isn't meant at the OP]. Or being in a relationship with someone who they normally couldn't stand just because they look good. I lose so much respect for my friends who do this--and after a certain point, I just can't be friends with them anymore.

I certaintly did not mean to offend anyone. I apologize if I did.

I'm just going by my own personel experiences, but first hand, and hearsay from trusted sources.

I'm sure there are more good women out there than society has lead us normal guys to believe. I'm just sick of the materilistic society we are living in. There are some people who put more emphasis on personality than income, but there just as many that don't.

I blame MTV.....

I blame MTV for everything too. Go with what works, thats what I say.

At any rate, you can pretty much sum up how I feel on the subject in this post. I didn't want to offend anybody here, because I don't know you. I haven't had the chance to approach you, and try to strike up a friendly conversation. This discussion was directed at unwarrented rudeness by women who know nothing. Sorry I didn't make that clear in my original post, and I apologize because when I'm frustrated I tend to make bad generalizations like that.

I've had 2 serious relationships in my life and the same number of people I've gone on dates with :) They were both women I knew beforehand and was friendly with.

I have a serious disadvantage of being inable to talk to women I don't know. Well... maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I'm a ball of nerves sometimes. Once I know someone and get to know them its fine, and I dont really have any self-confidence issues, I'm pretty sure I'm not ugly as sin, or boring to be around. That all seems to go out of the window though when I see a vaguely attractive woman :D

Looking to change this when I go bac to University for my final year, but like thats gonna happen. Too bad I've told myself that I'll never have a relationship with a previous friend again...

/em will be alone forever..

While I’m in a bitch mood, here is something that always ticks me off while I was dating. When you first meet a girl and you are each learning about each other to decide if you’re going to go out. It never fails you get asked the question, what kind of girls do you like. I describe the type of personalities I find attractive, and you get the response, oh that is me. You find out either while you’re asking them out or on the first date pretty quick they are the opposite from what they said.

Know thy self, not what you wish you where. Also people need to truly know what they are looking for in people. This is true for males and females.

Get outta the South. They don't like Yankees.

No we don't. MMMAAAHHHhhhhh

DOH, I'm not in the south anymore.
